Using iTunes I converted a mp3 music file to wave and then burnt an audio CD. on a CD-R Everything worked fine. Now the CD plays fine on the any computer but not on my stereo. I am using a MAC OS X 10.9.4. The recording speed was 10X.

I've got Snow Leopard sitting on my hard drive in the form of a DMG file. How do I install this new operating system? Do I have it converted into an iso file and then burnt onto a DL DVD and then run that or can I simply run it from its mounted position. Is there a way I can do it with my time machine?

Playback is choppy, with some stuttering and static noises...It does this even when playing straight to the computer speakers...I've disconnected my router to make it isn't the culprit (it slows down my internet connection quite a lot).

I seem to be having problems either with hardware or iTunes. First, I notice a delayed response with iTunes when pressing play. It didn't used to take so long to start a track, or even unpause a track. This is with only one other program open, Firefox. Also, with mutiple files from different albums, there are pops, dropouts, and clicks when listening to music. It sounds like I'm moving the 1/8th jack around in the headphone output. This would lead me to believe I'm having a hardware issue. It happens with headphones or speakers.

I have a Mac Mini 2011, I started having audio playback problems with about 90 percent of my purchased Itunes movies. The audio is fine as long as you don't maximize the viewing window, as soon as you do the audio become choppy. I keep all my movies on an external hard drive, 1Terrabyte Western Digital Mybook (the one recommended for macs. I even tried copying a movie onto the computer hard drive with the same result. This all seemed to start after I had my mac mini hard drive replaced.

I am running iTunes 11.2.2, which I assume is the most recent download.
During playback of songs in iTunes I get momentary audio drop outs or interruptions of songs. They happen once every 45 seconds or so but it varies, and they are not consistent from playback to playback (they happen at different times in the song when the song is played multiple times).

I have a mac mini coming this week which will replace my appleTV in the lounge.
I have some questions about how to hook it all up to give me as much flexibility as possible.
I'll be connecting to my HDTV (Sony 40W4000) via HDMI (using a DVI-HDMI adapter). I realise this won't give me audio.
I run my satellite box, DVD player and appleTV through a HDMI switcher to the TV, so firstly, will the mac mini play nice with a switcher box?
Secondly, is there any way of getting audio both to my TV in stereo, and to my amp via optical? Thinking not as there is only one audio output socket which is either 3.5mm line out *or* optical toslink.
If not, then my TV would take precedence as i'll mostly be using it to watch TV. I haven't checked my TV manual yet, but how have people found using separate audio feeds (L/R RCA) into a TV that has HDMI? I'm concerned that the mini audio might bleed through when I'm watching satellite TV or a DVD - how does the TV know when to use that audio vs using HDMI? Not even sure my TV can take a separate signal.
How are people getting audio to their TVs? Might I need to look at using VGA (although that'll have issues with exact scan etc at least it should let me input separate audio, with the bonus of PiP)
Lastly, if I am forced to pipe optical to my amp as the only way to get audio from the mini, does it pipe everything down optical or only 5.1 soundtracks etc? eg are system sounds sent down optical as stereo, and will normal stereo soundtrack movies (mp4/.avi etc) play ok?
I had a 3,5 mm stereo jack in my audio output on my macbook, and it broke inside. Is it possible to redirect the sound output to go through the input jack?
View 2 Replies View RelatedA couple of years ago when I got a tv for my room, my dad built a rack of shelves into the wall, one for my tv, one for my stereo and one for random stuff. It's always been nice, but restricting. I like to move my room around, and My desk is forced to stay right next to that rack to transmit audio to my receiver via a hard wire. Seeing as my iMac has bluetooth built in, I was wondering if it is at all possible to send stereo high quality audio over bluetooth to some sort of receiver that would feed into two RCA plugs... Now, I'm not talking audiophile quality, this is just a $400 sony rig, no crown audio here, but I dont want it to sound like those old 900mhz wireless headphones with all the interference. Is this at all possible? Or am I doomed to either staying put, or running 5' of cable under my carpet?
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe option to 'play stereo audio as mono' that comes with OSX 10.6 does not work as I expected.When I enable this option it sounds like only one of the two channels becomes mono, while the other one does not sound mono to me.It's hard to notice this, because the total sound does change to 'less' stereo. I've done some testing with different soundcards and testing signals, and found out that when the option is enabled, the mono signals are routed incorrect.While the right channel becomes mono, the left channel seems to be something else; I'm not sure if it's the original left channel of the stereo signal, though. I have reason to believe that the resulting mono sound on the right channel correctly is the 'monofied original sound', but that from the left channel.The resulting mono sound on the left channel sounds like the original left channel of the stereo sound, maybe added with the mono sound of the right channel.
Why do I think so? When using a sound card with more than two outputs, I can clearly see that sound is being sent to the second and the THIRD output, instead of the first and the second output, immediately after I enable mono. Resulting in output on THREE channels:original leftmonofied (left) monofied (right) On my soundcard I can disable the extra outputs, and than I hear:original left + maybe monofied rightmonofied (left) I think the programmer of this great feature made an 'off-by-one error', consequently sending the monified output to the wrong channels;to channel[1] + channel[2] instead of channel[0] + channel[1] I don't know what happens to sound that is sent to channel[2] (the third channel) on a two channel soundcard.It could be mapped to the the first channel, but that of course is speculation. Could be tested though, with the right audio signal.

Is anyone else having an issue which the '10 MBPs have problems with audio playback in iTunes? It happens on all songs a couple of times every song (even purchased from the iTunes store) whether it's the only application open or not. I'm not having other problems with iTunes video, it's just stuttering playback.
View 1 Replies View Relatedi have been making backup QT movies of a whole bunch of Beta SP tapes using an AJA Ki Pro to record ProRes 422 files. I have used QT7pro to trim these movies and add metadata. Played back on QT7 (7.6.6) they sound find but playing the same movie on QT player 10.1 there is an echo on the audio as if one track has been knocked back about 6 or 7 frames. Using QT7 to set Ch1 and 2 to mono or stereo makes no difference, just spaces the echo out.

I'm using OSX 10.9.4.
My 500 GB hard drive is getting full, so I moved my entire ITunes music library (160 GB) to an external hard drive, and then moved the iTunes Media folder to the trash, and deleted it on my Mac. The moved files are playing fine from the external drive.
Surprise!
No disc space was freed up at all, because iTunes (I guess) cleverly backed everything up automatically.
I've tried to find these backup files in order to delete them -- to no avail.
How do I get rid of 160 GB of backups??

That means when playing back a video or music through iTunes, basically always when there's audio playing. I'm in the process of figuring out if it also happens on my regular integrated speakers.
My MBP is the recently released 15" Core i7 model. Only thing I changed is I added an Intel SSD.
Any thoughts as to what it can be? Or where to start looking for a solution?
I have a 2G iMac and I have it connected to a Philips HD TV with a mini-dvi to dvi adapter that is connected to a HDMI-to-DVI video cable. I also have a Y audio cable connected iMac to the AV1 on the TV. The problem is I can only select one source on my TV, either AV1 or HDMI 1. If I select AV1 I can hear the audio from the video streaming on my computer (no video shows on the TV), but if I select HDMI 1 I can only see my desktop background no audio or video. How can I get both the video and audio to play at the same time? Why am I only seeing my background and not video?

All the iTunes songs that I have purchased in the past 6 months and converted to mp3 will not play in my Harley Davidson radio. I have several mp3 CDs that I have created over the last 2 years that work just fine. The latest discs that I have tried to make (at least 6 times) will not play any new songs. The older songs on the disc play but the radio skips through the recently purchased songs that were converted to mp3 in iTunes. Odd as it only affects the recent purchases. Is there something new happening with the latest update of iTunes or the iTunes Store? BTW I have checked the MP3 button when burning, I have tried three different kinds of CD-Rs and all the usual possible troubles.

tried burning a playlist, received error that the songs had to be originally MP3 to burn to a CD disk. Followed instructions on how to convert those songs to MP3, which I did, and when I tried to burn the converted playlist, received that same message.

Usually, I convert videos for my iPad or iPhone using Toast and it works fine. Today, I had an mp4 video and I just dropped it into iTunes where it will play there just fine. However, it will not sync to my iPad. So, I went into the iTunes Advanced menu and had iTunes convert it for the iPad. Even that video will not sync to my iPad. I don't get it. I just converted it with Toast and now it will go on my iPad thru iTunes. I don't get why it doesn't work when iTunes converts it.

So is it safe to erase the one on my desktop?
