I have a 2012 Macbook Pro 13".I had a hard disk failure almost 2 weeks ago. [I accidently kept the mac running by using the Caffeine app while keeping macbook in my backpack and roaming around an exhibition]. I saw blinking folder icon and couldn't detect my hard disk at all.
Then I reset SMC and tried to detect it but it didn't work.My macbook passed the Hardware Test.So I ordered and installed a new Samsung 840 Evo SSD on my macbook and tried installing mavericks but the Istalled Failed with the following error log: localhost OSInstaller[384]: update_dyld_shared_cache exited with 1
PackageKit: Install Failed: Error Domain=PKInstallErrorDomain Code=121 "An error occurred while updating system extension information." UserInfo=0x7fab0300ebb0 {NSUnderlyingError=0x7fab034857f0 "The operation couldn't be completed. Install Failed: The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance. I used the same mavericks installer USB and installed my SSD on a friend's macbook pro with the same year, make and specs and it installed fine. However, when I reattched that SSD with installed mavericks and booted my macbook it gave me a blinking globe and question mark icon. Apart from SSD, I'm using all the original RAM and other parts.

I am trying to download a printer driver to connect my mac air (version OS X 10.9.2) with my printer (PIXMA MP250 series). how or where can I download and install one?
I took my Macbook Pro into the store and they had to delete everything and then reinstall the OS and all my data. I have not had any problems redownloading various applications, but no matter what I do, I cannot install Flashplayer. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, opening the installer directly from the package, etc. There is no version of flash currently on my computer, but still, I cannot download and install it (even an older version).
I have downloaded OS X Update 10.9.3 on my MacBook Pro at least six times in the last 30 days. However, it never installs. It just downloads everything, asks for a restart to install, but then never installs. The Update section of the App Store keeps telling me that I need to download this update, but I just end up in a continuous loop. How can I solve this?
I recently formatted my Macbook Pro 2011 that had OS X Lion installed to fix a problem with my HDD, when I boot with the Recovery HD it gives me the option to download and install OS X Lion, but since its not available on Appstore anymore it says that the item I want is unavaible and do not install the OS X. Since my macbook doesn´t have an OS X anymore I can´t access appstore to download a more recent OS X, like Mavericks.
I'm trying to install it for 3 days now and nothing works
I have a mid-2010 15 inch Macbook Pro. After putting it off for some time, I went to install the 10.9.3 update. However, after installing the update, the computer won't start! A progress bar appears under the Mac Logo during start-up, but it only gets about 1/5th of the way through, when the bar disappears and then the mac shuts down. I've attempted this at least 5 times and it always does the same thing. I held option during start-up to boot into the Recovery disk, and tried to repair the partition (I also have a bootcamp partition), but it said it was unable to repair.
I have other family members on mac but I do not want certain programs to be loaded to other profiles. I do not want parental controls. I have read they need to be added to my specific user folder but I cannot see anything but one applications folder in Finder.
Decided to install Mavericks onto my 13' Macbook Pro, which is currently at Lion right now. First tried the default download and restart to run, but ran into the problem of it saying, when trying to install OS X, "There is not enough space on this disk". I was trying to install on Macintosh HD, which had 372 gigs free..
The other two options had the same message, being titled "OS X Install ESD" and "disk0s1". After tearing my hair out at how incredibly non-user friendly this was, I tried the USB method, following a guide to correctly put Mavericks on a 8gig USB. Same issue, though said to try and customize it, or something. a simple download and install method doesnt work for this sort of thing. Why would t be saying 370+ gigs is not enough to install?
I would like to install os x Yosemite public Beta 2, since I have only one external hard drive and that one is my time machine, I made two partitions of it, one is backup and second for Yosemite.

A few weeks ago, I was installing a new SSD into a 2009 MBP. I reinstalled Snow Leopard from the disc that came with the computer and proceeded to upgrade to Mavericks. you cannot install the iLife applications (namely, iPhoto) from the Applications disc once you upgrade past Snow Leopard. Is there a way I can still install these applications without having to buy them through the app store?

I have older OSX versions that are on disc in addition to some older software. I want to have these files stored for when I need to make another boot disc or an install. I want to have them as .dmg files. I guess that is the default that you can open on OSX, add the serial number and install?
Can I use the OSX operating system to make these? I also have toast 11. Can I do the same thing?
I've downloaded Maverick 10.9.4 to upgrade from Snow Leopard 10.6.8. Download is OK, but when asked which drive I wanted to install the upgrade on, and I choose the internal Mac HD, it tells me I can't use that drive for startup, and won't let me continue. Why not? Been doing it for years with Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on MackBook Pro 17". What now?
I'm replacing the stock HD with a new SSD and I'd like to have a clean install of latest OSX. I think if I use the recovery disks that it will install an older version of OSX (10.4) but I want the latest 10.9.4 installed right away and avoid having to do an upgrade.
Because of software compatibility limitations (see Avid Media Composer), I need to find a download of the base Mavericks install, so the first 10.9 install. Avid will only support up to 10.9.2, so I'd like to install 10.9 and then take it up to .2.I can find the 9.2 combo updates, but not the base install.

I need to install OS X 10.6 on my new MacBook (10.8.2) because older programs won't work on my new machines. I've successfully created a new partition. However when I hold down option button on startup I only see original partition and Recovery-10.8.2 but not the new partition. How on earth does one install an older version of OS X on a new machine.
I cannot be 100% sure but it seems like my problem started when I installed Apple TV and started home sharing. When my Mac goes to sleep and I start it up the internet is disconnected. I check in the settings and the network shows a signal and connected. I do not get emails and I cannot connect to the internet though. I have to restart my computer then everything is back on. I cannot stand quitting all my work to restart my computer so many times a day.
Two days ago i installed Mavericks on my MacBook Pro and since i did it, my mac runs very slowly. The pointer goes slowly and it takes a lot of time to load the programs (safari, word, etc.). It takes also longer time to start up my mac. I've checked on the activity monitor and the system activity amount is so high, around 80%. But what i've discovered is that when i plug in the charger, my mac suddenly runs faster and i've checked again the system activity is only around 1-2%. How can i make my mac runs faster even when i don't plug in the charger?

My school district pushed out a Mavericks 10.9.4 update. Install went fine except Smart Notebook will not run and crashes on startup. I uninstalled and reinstalled Smart Notebook software yet problem continues. Tech department at my school district says Mavericks and Smart Notebook software should run fine together. I used my Smartboard everyday because my students participate and are engaged. Now I am at a standstill.
I decided to do a clean install of Mavericks to get rid of all the very old files hiding in my system folders. I made a start-up disk following online instructions, rebooted from the USB drive and wiped the drive and reinstalled Mavericks. Then I plugged in my Time machine backup drive and tried to recover particular folders from the latest backup. However, I am getting a permission error that prevents me from going into the old user folder from that backup. It has a red circle/line icon on the folder.
I want to install OS x on Macbook pro laptop, I have erase all data through dist utility and when i reinstall os x it will give me message like "You must sign in with an Apple ID that was used to purchase "OS X Maverick"...
