Oct 15, 2003Recently bought Lite-On DVD+RW. Having few teething probs though. Toast is fine for burning but cannot burn from desktop. Also, Toast will not succesfully erase my DVD+RW disk, says it has but then if I ask it to burn, it says "Cannot burn this disk do you want to erase" or something like.
Has anyone got or can anyone make a driver for OS X?
I had the same problem last time with my Lite-On CDRW and got a driver someone had made and posted on another board, whis made it work with itunes, finder etc.

Feb 17, 2010I am sharing a laptop with my gf running Leopard. Her login is fine. On my login all three of my browsers (Safari, Firefox, Chrome) only go to lite versions of websites. Lite.Facebook.Com, Espn.go.com.
Obviously this is something at the login level where my login is reporting that I am a mobile device not a full computer. I am at work now so I don't have my machine to check or give specs on. I was hoping someone could give me a quick fix for this.

Install Failed: The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. I have not had any problems redownloading various applications, but no matter what I do, I cannot install Flashplayer. I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling, opening the installer directly from the package, etc. There is no version of flash currently on my computer, but still, I cannot download and install it (even an older version).

Jun 28, 2014I have a mid-2010 15 inch Macbook Pro. After putting it off for some time, I went to install the 10.9.3 update. However, after installing the update, the computer won't start! A progress bar appears under the Mac Logo during start-up, but it only gets about 1/5th of the way through, when the bar disappears and then the mac shuts down. I've attempted this at least 5 times and it always does the same thing. I held option during start-up to boot into the Recovery disk, and tried to repair the partition (I also have a bootcamp partition), but it said it was unable to repair.

The other two options had the same message, being titled "OS X Install ESD" and "disk0s1". After tearing my hair out at how incredibly non-user friendly this was, I tried the USB method, following a guide to correctly put Mavericks on a 8gig USB. Same issue, though said to try and customize it, or something. a simple download and install method doesnt work for this sort of thing. Why would t be saying 370+ gigs is not enough to install?Â

I reinstalled Snow Leopard from the disc that came with the computer and proceeded to upgrade to Mavericks. you cannot install the iLife applications (namely, iPhoto) from the Applications disc once you upgrade past Snow Leopard. Is there a way I can still install these applications without having to buy them through the app store?
