This may sound like a newbie question but I've searched all over and couldn't find a thing. I'm starting to think it isn't possible to do so? Maybe someone here will come along and prove me wrong.
View 4 RepliesI am trying to save a homepage. I go into peferences and click on the button. But everytime I go back into safari it comes up with the last tab (or tabs) that were viewed. I am stuck with how to sort this out.
P.S When I am shutting down my macbook, everytime the box is checked for reopen windows when logging back in. How can I un check this and save it so I dont have to keep doing it.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI had saved a webpage on the Safari Reading List. I pulled it up, read a little, and saw it disappeared from the Reading List. I had ot finished reading it, so I decided to re-save it to the list, but the Add Page button on the Reading List window was greyed out. Nothing I did would change the greyed out button to make it functional.

I noticed the apple web page icon to be missing from the dock. You can still use the mouse and click on it with positive results. However, it is disconcerting to have the icon go missing with an OS update.

All of the changes that I make to my dock (e.g. adding new programs/icons, hiding and magnifying) all revert back after I reset, log off or shut down my system. Can anyone help with advice on how to keep my changes from reverting back?

If I do not use Time Machine, and open a new document in Pages, and type for ten minutes, and close the document, and click "Don't save" by mistake, is there any Auto Save or Versions of that document or just 100% out of luck? url...but I don't get any clear yes or no from it.

I have been unable to save or save as in any of the programs, when I try and save which ever application I am in, crashes. I have not had this issue happen before. I have googled it and I get results relating to print spooling ( on pc). I would like to know how I can set print spooling on macs.

Since upgrading to Lion, I can't save changes or even save new documents in Pages on my laptop. When I try to save, I get the dialog box: "The document “Untitled 2” could not be saved as “Untitled 2”. Permission denied" I can't find anything in Pages preferences or in the System preferences where this setting can be changed if it is a setting.

View 7 Replies View RelatedToday the OS X dock on my late '08 MacBook Pro 15" stop working like normal. It used to be, when an App was open, the icon would appear in the dock with a sort of highlight.
Now, the apps run fine but no longer appear in the dock. If I minimize it, it does show as a running app in the left hand side, but that isn't what I want it to do. Is there a quick way to get it to work again?
Very suddenly my dock has disappeared, (and occasionally reappears), and is now completely non-useable. Why..? I have created other accounts on my computer previously and the dock on those is fine...I have looked in Activity monitor and it flashes on and then disappears in there.I tried using terminal to 'killall Dock', but this did nothing...Am using Leopard on Alu iMac.
So i changed the color of my dock with dock doctor and i tried to change it back to default but it wont do it. Any ideas?

The file name has a serial number added to the old file name and the default destination is the Documents file. This happens whether I have tried to save using Command-S or using the Save option in the File menu. This started after I upgraded to Mavericks.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have recently switched most of the company I work for from PC to Mac. I have been having reports that [URL] will not load most of the time and when it does there are no graphics.
I have checked this on three different machines all with 10.6.4 using Safari, Chrome, and FireFox (one 27" iMac, one new mini, and one 15" MBP). They all act the same. Either the site times out and is not loaded at all or it loads in really large blue fonts that are all squished to the left of the browser window. The main thing these machines have in common is that they all have Parallels installed with Windows 7 installed. Two have Parallels v5 and the iMac has v6.
Initially I thought it was our ISP, BUT if you try it on any other mac that does not have parallels installed the site works fine in all three browsers. Also if you launch a browser in windows inside Parallels the site loads up correctly.
All other sites that are visited seem to be working fine on these same machines.
I have checked DNS and all seems well. All machines on the network (PC and Mac) are using the same DNS servers. All PC's work fine regardless of the browser used.
How to I refresh a webpage? I know in Windows it is one of the F keys.

I have tried doing to the page editor and changing the settings but when you look at the preview half the site just disappears. The actual size of the border does not seem to change.
I am trying to save some information from a webpage as a pdf. Usually this works for me but i am having problems. When i open the pdf file the sides are cut off. How can this be avoided?
