MacBook Pro :: Save Pictures Directly As JPEG Instead Of Having To Save Them As Preview Document
Nov 30, 2014
When I right click to save a picture online, it doesn't give me the opportunity to save something as a JPEG. I instead have to save it as a preview and then export it to JPEG. This seems like something relatively new.
I thought that I was being smart by creating my son's graduation invite.I made it in pages and I need to save it to be a jpeg in order to print it. Does anyone know how to save a pages doc as a jpeg?
I have a newly refurbished emac running the latest OSX 10.9.3. I used to be able to move images from iPhoto to the desktop and using Preview change the file size. I need to do this to upload images of a specific size to a website. Now Preview will not save the adjusted image size. I adjust the size from a 5 meg image to a 1.5 meg image but when I go to upload the image it is still 5 meg. I try saving it before closing it but it doesn't do anything (by the way I hate the new options or lack thereof when it comes to saving in Preview)
How do I save a Pages document in a fold on my computer with NO "save as" option. Also Duplicate doesn't work the way your Apple manual says. It duplicates but keeps the same name only puts copy behind it with no way of changing the name it seems. How would i do that too?
I am a recent convert to the Mac. I have not found it an easy transition: not by any means. Absolutely love the iPhone and my iPad - but the MacBook Pro has been a huge disappointment. It is in serious danger of becoming nothing more than just a nice thing to look at. I am really struggling to get to grips with what are much more than just nuances over Windows. My latest problem concerns .pdf's opened in Preview.
I am sure that, initially, I had no problem with "saving a version" - now, all of a sudden it says that: "... could not be saved. You don't have permission." It tells me to find the document in Finder, and then look in "get info" - I do that. I have Read and Write permissions. I have unlocked the document, I have given "others" read/write permissions - I have tried everything, but still no joy.
I cannot save a document in Word or Word-compatible form. The only options I am given in File is "Save a Version," which does not provide for saving in Word. How do I do this?
Why won't my computer let me save anything (pictures/documents) from the internet. It tells me I need to save as a .webarchive and then says it cannot be exported. What can I do?
Every time I try to open an existing document or save a new one Microsoft word crashes. I am able to start a new document but if I try to save it all of the action/editing buttons fade/unhighlight (save, print, quit, copy paste, etc) and I am ubable to do anything. However, most of the buttons in view, history, bookmarks, tools, window & help still work. Then I have to force quit because the option to quit is no longer available.
I want to copy all my i photo pictures for the last 12 months i have saved and save them on to an external hard drive, i have tries to copy and paste all at once but it only will let me do one picture at a time!!
I recently updated the operating system to Lion and I am trying to save my files on iCloud. It does not work and I can not save any document on I cloud. I am using keynote 09 version 5.1.1.
How do I save an existing document with a new file name thereby having two documents the old one and the new one with changes? Once a document has been saved once opening File no longer offers the save or Save as choice. Clicking on Save a version does not work either.
Guidance on scanning a dosument and then saving it in a new folder with a new filename. The equipment in question is an iMac Desktop and an Epson Stylus NX 430.

I am new to Macs. This is my first week. I read a post stating to save photos from your browser, you can click and drag them..I also read another method which also failed. What I am wondering is:I see a photo of myself on my Flickr page.I want to save the photo to my hard drive. How do I do that?I have a new White Polycarb MacBook 13 inch with Snow Leopard.
I was writing a form (.pdf document) in Preview today. When going to try to quit (apple + q) the printer proxy, I accidentally quit Preview. I guess whoever created the document set it to read only, so I could not save (I'm a bit stupid, should have worked in word). Is there anyway I could retrieve the document? I doubt so, but that is why I am coming to you guys.
I need to save a document from word as a pdf to add to a webpage. When I choose "save as" >pdf, I get the error that the header and footer are outside the printable margins... if I continue, it doesn't just cut off the footer, it cuts off about an inch an a half of the document.
I've reset the margins in word to accommodate the entire thing, but it still cuts it off in pdf format. I've searched for other answers, but it seems that people have more printing issues, not just saving issues.
Guys, how can i save a text edit document in a designated sub folder? All this time the only option to save a text edit doc for me is either in a document folder or other non-sub folders (e.g. desktop, etc).
