View 9 RepliesThis may sound like a newbie question but I've searched all over and couldn't find a thing. I'm starting to think it isn't possible to do so? Maybe someone here will come along and prove me wrong.

Since upgrading to Lion, I can't save changes or even save new documents in Pages on my laptop. When I try to save, I get the dialog box: "The document “Untitled 2” could not be saved as “Untitled 2”. Permission denied" I can't find anything in Pages preferences or in the System preferences where this setting can be changed if it is a setting.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI had saved a webpage on the Safari Reading List. I pulled it up, read a little, and saw it disappeared from the Reading List. I had ot finished reading it, so I decided to re-save it to the list, but the Add Page button on the Reading List window was greyed out. Nothing I did would change the greyed out button to make it functional.

I currently have a macbook that uses a 320GB Ext HD for Time Machine, a Windows laptop used by the wife and a Windows desktop used for only downloading our pictures to a central location and acting as a print server. We'll be picking up a macbook in the coming weeks and I was thinking about using a 1TB Time Capsule to replace the Windows desktop. all the Windows desktop is used for is file sharing and print server! I want to use the Time Capsule for Time Machine on both laptops as well as a file server. What's the best way to partition the TC drive? I was thinking 3 volumes, one ~250GB for each laptop and a ~500GB for file sharing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI´m running Lion, we´re getting better acquainted. However, with Safari I´m having problems when I try to save a web page as a PDF using the Print-Save PDF options. It tells me the file cannot be saved. I try duplicating, exporting, etc, and the only solution I´ve found is to email the document, which, when attatched to the email arrives as a PDF with no problem whatsoever. This is silly (close to dancing infront of my MacBook Pro with a black chicken spitting rum in all directions).

How do I save a Pages document in a fold on my computer with NO "save as" option. Also Duplicate doesn't work the way your Apple manual says. It duplicates but keeps the same name only puts copy behind it with no way of changing the name it seems. How would i do that too?

I have a panorama picture that I would like to print out. The print menu lets you put multiple pictures on one page but not one picture across multiple pages. I was wondering if anyone knows how to do this without manually cropping the picture up into one page pieces.

I have both pages and word 08 for mac on my computer. All of my professors and the university use office 2007 for windows. My question is, should I save my documents in pages and export them as word docs to be compatible with word 07 for windows, or should i save them as word docs in word 08 for mac?
The title says it all. Pages 09 is intermittently hanging (spinning beachball) when I try to save or export a document. It doesn't happen EVERY time, so I can't reproduce it, but it's happened several times in the past few days. I'm running Snow Leopard on an original Intel iMac. Everything is updated to the latest versions. What might be causing this or how to stop it?

On my iMac and MacBookPro I cannot save .pages documents to iCloud iWork. They appear on the iWork screen, but I cannot retrieve them.
However, from my iPad it is no problem!. After editing in iPad and save the documents to iCloud back it is possible to download these on my iMac or MacBookPro without problem.

When I scan a document I have problems locating the file on the computer. Once I located the file I attempted to save in pages 09 but it didn't work. And I can't seem to even copy a scanned document to paste into pages. As an example I would like to scan all of my loose recipes and assemble in pages. But can't figure out how to do this.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI manage multiple iPads here at my school and had a question about iTunes backup. We want to have multiple backups from the past for each device so that we can restore the device from an old backup if something goes wrong. We have over 180 iPads so I need something quick and automated. We are also using a Mac Server if that helps any.

This weekend I purchased a new 13" MacBook Pro. In the process of transferring data from my old MacBook Pro to the new one I almost lost all of the data from my iPhone. In the process I realized that by default iTunes only keeps one instance of the backup data - the most recent one.To avoid such a near miss in the future and to add some healthy redundancy into my life, I would like to be able to keep at least one additional backup copy of my iPhone data. Elsewhere it has been suggested to periodically copy the backup folder to another location. This seems terribly inefficient. Is there a more Apple-like way to create and manage multiple backups of my iPhone and iPad data?

I have been using Safari for a few years now, and the only problem I have with it is that I have never been able to have more than one page open at a time. On any PC, I have been using internet explorer and can have, for instance, an internet radio station playing as welll as being able to surf other pages without losing the radio station. On Safari, as soon as I have the radio station playing, if I then want to look at other pages, the radio station web-page has automatically switched itself off. I am sure it is just something to do with the settings, but I don't seem able to fathom out what settings I need to change.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI created a logo in Pages using a few text box, some text and various shapes and colors. I created it at the largest size I think I'll be using it at (quite large, a few feet across) and now I want to use it in several other, smaller instances. I grouped it all together, but when I resize the box, the type stays the same size and so everything gets out of place. Is there a way in Pages to save an object such as I've created here, and be able to resize it in correct proportions etc, so that I can use it in various sizes etc?
View 6 Replies View Relateddoes anybody know a way to save a Pages document as a Word DOC file with the used fonts embedded so that somebody on another (Windows) computer can see the document exactely the way I do even without having some used fonts? (PDF instead of DOC isn't possible as the text still needs to be editable for this other person.) I already searched the whole net and I am afraid this isn't possible, but just to be sure: If anybody knows a way, it would be nice if you could let me know.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've been disappointed that the preview in the Leopard print dialog does not update if you select to have multiple pages per sheet. I often do this to conserve paper when I'm printing lecture notes. With Leopard, I'm often doing this blind and get things out of order. Has anyone got this to work? I seem to think that one of programs--either preview or Acrobat--provided this functionality in Tiger.
