OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Create A Workflow That Will Monitor A Webpage?
Jun 10, 2012I am trying to create a workflow that will monitor a webpage and send me email if the page contains a certain keyword. I got it working, I get email; the email contains the keyword, or is an empty message when the keyword is missing.I would rather not get these empty messages is possible. Until I figure this out, I may send these message at some gmail address and create a fiter there to forward only message with that keyword. Not elegant but should work. Anyway, long term I want a more elegant solution. Here is what I have in Automator:
1) Get Specific ULRs
2) Get Text from Webpage
3) Filter Paragraphs (and here is where I check whether the keyword shows up or not)
4) New mail message (which contains they keyword from #3, or is empty)
5) Send outgoing messages.
As I said, the workflow always works, and will send a message with that keyword, or an empty message. How do I make the workflow send email ONLY if they keyword is detected? There is not IF in Automator as far as I can see. This is the first time I try to do something in Automator so maybe I am missing something.

Just checked on ym iphone, and photostream IS turned ON , and the photo's from my imacs photostream ARE on my iPhone

It first happened when I use the firefox address bar to google something. The web page didn't load and said "The connection was reset: The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.", Then I try it on Chrome to go to google.com. The web page didn't load and said "No Data received: Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data."Â Then I try it on Safari. The web page didn't load and said
"Safari cant open the page [URL] because the server unexpectedly dropped the connection. This sometimes occurs when the server is busy. Wait for a few minutes, and then try again."

Jun 13, 2012When I try to print any document from a web page, i get an empty page, only the header line at the top of the page. Y work with Safari (last version) but the same I have with Chrome. From other sources there is no problem. I have two HP printers, one laser BW and a color HP Deskjet D1663.

Apr 5, 2012I found my personal web page by going through utilities, but not sure how to get anything on it. I have created a file (website file in Lightroom 4) that I want to share via internet. How do I get it on my personal web site on my Mac and how do I share that file with other computer users. No one has answered the question yet at support. I am told I have to purchase a web hosting service but isn't there a way to share large files via internet with the Imac software installed on my computer? I don't want to purchase a domain!

Apr 10, 2012The website where I pay bills online has a hot link that says "print" and when I click on it, the printout is in a teeny tiny font.Â
The document that I print after paying each bill is the confirmation of the payment transaction. But it's almost too small to be read without a magnifying glass.Â
I can't find where or how to increase the font size of the printout.  Firefox preferences doesn't include any sort of font size preference to choose from; and my printer application in Settings doesn't list font sizes to choose from or to set as my default size.   Â
PageSetup allows me to choose a paper size, but not a font size. Â
My computer is an iMac G5;Â MAC OSXÂ 10.6.8Â My printer is a Canon MX850 Â

Feb 18, 2012I am trying to create a new image .. and my hard drive is not listed on the left hand panel .. the other night it worked fine except it would keep locking up so i did a disc repair and then restarted when i did a restart to prepare for a fresh install i noticed my hard drive was no longer in the disc utlitity not sure why that is.. Now the Snow leopard disc is stuck in the drive and I am unable to eject the disc tried almost every ejection command there is nothing .. isnt there a way to mount the hard drive through the terminal?

Feb 29, 2012I've just bought my iMac which came with no backup/bootable software discs at all (unlike new PC's). So from my over an hour reading from GOOGLE with conflicting answers from what I can gather "Time Capsule" cannot create a bootable copy of your hardrive ... So, I as have a 1TB harddrive with the iMAC some questions I have are :
1. ) Do I need to purchase a 2TB external hard drive (minimum) to create a clone of the current harddrive & any future information stored on it as I intend to backup once a month. It "MUST" be a bootable backup as I have no discs!
2.) Is there any "cloud" storage services that I can make a bootable backup on that which can be accessed later to download via another PC or MAC to a harddrive/memory stick etc. & then uploaded to the new replacement hardrive in my iMAC?
3.) Off the subject altogether but just thought of it! I hate the keyboard with the iMAC even though its stylish it isn't lit which isn't helping me at night! So when using my old keyboard (which does light up) can I tell the iMAC to use the sign in the normal place rather than the number 2 key as well as other keys which are in different places on the iMAC compared to a PC keyboard !!!

Jun 8, 2012Here on my office we have 3 macs, 1 wireless router and 1 gigabit lan switch.My wireless router only have 100mbps ports and I need a little more speed on my network.So I want to use my wireless router only as internet via Airport and my gigabit lan as file sharing via gigabit connection. I can disable the network features on my wireless router so the macs can't see each other on the wireless connection.The problem is that i can't make them work on the gigabit switch. I need to put some static ips on the macs and I don't know what to put on the default gateway because the gigabit switch doesn't have an IP, its a SWITCH 08P 10/100/1000 D-LINK DGS-1008D. what ips and gateways should I put on my network connection? PS: I tried putting my wireless router via cable on my gigabit switch but it limited my gigabit switch to 100mbps and started to slow my network traffic. Â
