Software :: How Do You Change The Back Ground Of A Page
May 19, 2009This doesn't seem to be working. I go to the page, bring up the inspector, go to page > layout > choose color fill, then use the color wheel, but the background doesn't change. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I have click everywhere on out side edge but I cannot edit the background. It shows the fill icon with a blue image looking thing but when I click on the fill icon I cannot select a color. The "define as media place holder" is grayed out.

Jul 11, 2009I have recently come across an extremely cheap ibook (free) which i was able to keep if I got it too work. Well I've been successfully fairly by using it for a few weeks, then it just died. Not sure how it did but it did. The problems seem to be with the flashing (Finder/?) folder on a gray screen back ground. I've already run through the [URL] tutorials of what's wrong and have successfully done a PRAM and a PMU reset with no result. One of the times that I restarted the iBook and after the flashing folder got two new separate folders. One with an arrow turning clockwise on the left, and another folder with an arrow pointing right on the right. Both in blue folders as the flashing folders. Now I believe the problem is that the iBook is unable to find and utilize the Startup Disk. Forums I have read state to put in the reinstall disc, which I don't see how that will work on account of the CD tray not responding to anything I've yet put in there. Not trying with disc until i know that is the only possible solution. Don't want to loose my disc. Maybe some of you have come across this situation and know of a sure fire way to fix it. If not, Ill have to just send it in to some site.

Sep 28, 2009If I change my desktop image, it often changes back to its previous setting next time I boot up. And- it doesn't remain constant between graphics cards either. (15" late '08 UMBP)
It changes when I connect external monitors, and it changes when I bring it home from work and boot up.
I just can't wrap my head around it. I have to change it every time I boot up, actually.

Aug 17, 2010When my 2010 macbook pro changes graphics card it removes my background and sets it as a blue screen. Everything else still works fine and if i go back and set the desktop background again it sets it until next time the card changes!

Dec 12, 2009On the Get Info tab of my Applications folder I changed the permissions so that I have all the read and write rights of the whole folder. The it somehow changed to Name: system, and the Privilege: Read and Write. I didn't know that I was NEVER supposed to do that until I googled the issue. I googled a lot, and most of the solutions says that I need my mac DVD. I am currently in North Africa visiting my parents, and my Disks are back home. I tried many things, but the more I try, the more I seem to mess up my macbook. I have a macbook white with Mac OS X 10.5.8. Some suggest to go to Terminal, and use chown -R, but as soon as I open Terminal, i get the following:

She's just accidentally moved her desktop (including everything on it off course) to the trash. She's also trashed Skype (might have been on desktop?!?). Jan 30, 2009I didn't put the my documents folder in the trash can and empty the trash. I accidentally took it off the dock, so I went into Macintosh HD in order to put it back on the dock. I went under the "my places" tab and clicked and dragged the my documents tab, but I accidentally let go of the icon before it got to the dock and it disappeared. It was showing the little crumbled up piece of paper icon before it disappeared. So I don't know how to get the my documents folder back. It isn't anywhere on my desktop and it isn't in the Macintosh HD under the "my places" tab. I also don't know how to access the documents that were in there.
