OS X :: Brown Substance On The MacBook Charger Unit

Feb 22, 2010

I've scoured the web to find if anyone else has this brown substance on their unibody MacBook laptop charger, to no avail. It's inside the very thin crevices of the L-shaped protrusions around which you tie the power cord that connects to the MacBook.Anyone here has any ideas about what this substance may be? Is it simply lubrication or leakage from the power unit?

MacBook Air :: Silver Things Are Turning Brown On Reviews A. 1.6 MBA?

Jun 1, 2009

I had an initial thread in Mac Software as I initially thought it was just a Safari 4 Beta issue.(Original thread here)But since then, it's spread from Safari 4 to my trash can and now to Numbers and Pages (It has not done anything to Keynote), the bottom panel (but not the top one) in Yahoo messenger... Even the silver navigation bar on the Apple website shows up as this weird metallic brown. What's even weirder is that the trash can is the normal silver metallic when the OS first loads and then changes to the brownish one. No amount of messing with display settings helps. Resetting the NVRAM initially got everything back to normal, but then boom, it's all stuck.

MacBook Pro :: Plaintiff Ryan Brown Vs Google Chrome

(bear with me, I'm bored, and as you will see, not a writer)A hot, humid courtroom room is filled with press, jurors, lawyers, interns, police. Cameras focused in on him, Chrome, with his cold steel ball, doesn't blink; but stares coldly at his victim, the GT 330m, and his wife, the battery.from the back of the room, and man bursts through the door, briefcase a mess, hair flailing, his too tight to be even almost comfortable shoes, tap quickly as he sprints to the table. Ryan Brown, lawyer extraordinare, sits down.

I can't get it to turn on even if it did the screen would be messed up. It had an SSD rev C will that work in a base refurb rev b or does it look like the rev D will support the same 1.8 hard drive? I can hold out a while on a G3 but I hope they update soon! It's ironic that my MBA is what I use to edit video and game to an extent so I really don't want to go back to 1.6ghz unless I have to.

MacBook :: Unit Cracking From Left Right And Centre?

Feb 25, 2010

I was just wondering because my current MacBook is cracking left right and centre and I haven't even done anything to it. Cracks on the palm rest, the sides, the bottom, the bezel and now even the hinge, pretty bad. I am looking for a new laptop for various other reasons and I was going to get the 13" pro because I really don't like the white MacBooks anymore, but I'm really strapped for cash and I was wondering if I should maybe get the white unibody, only problem is I would hate to buy it and then have it crack just like this one has.

Hardware :: Apple Battery Charger Or 3rd Party Battery Charger Bettter For The System

Aug 11, 2010

The Apple one looks tempting as it comes with 6 batteries and 29€ isn't too much, plus, as usual, it looks brilliant. I looked at some 3rd party chargers as well ranging from 20€ to 40€. None of them was stunning or special by any means. Cheaper ones usually came with two or four batteries and some came without batteries. I don't really need it for else than Magic Mouse, occasionally for something else too.

OS X :: Currency 'unit Converter Widget' Not Working?

Jul 2, 2008

Ok so according to my unit converter ?10 sterling is $665.579 US$ . Which would be wonderful! But its highly irritating. After playing round with it I have discovered that the problem is the lists are in a different order the left list starts with A$ and the right list starts with US$. I can get around this by selecting the currency underneath the required on on the left hand list (EG if i want sterling (?) on the left hand side I select Brunei Dollar instead) This is annoying though. So does anybody know ow to help me?

I apologise for how complicated this post may seem but its hard to put it any simpler.

Mac Mini :: Possible To Connect Unit With Non Apple Display?

Nov 22, 2009

My friend's laptop just broke completely beyond repair (trust me this cannot be fixed without sending it out to hp, who wont fix it either). But any way, his mom and him have come to the conclusion that they are done with PC's, and are making the smart move, and going to Mac. Now, they cant afford an iMac, or a Macbook, so I suggested a Mac Mini. They only have a Samsung monitor for their HP, but I just want to know if a Mac Mini can connect to a Non-Apple Display. Yes I know they need adapters which I will help pick out for them when they go to buy it. I think I have heard it can connect to Non-Apple Displays, but I'm not 100% sure.

Applications :: Audio Unit Stored - Location?

Jul 9, 2010

i got a new macbook pro for college (i'll update my signature with the specs), and i'm target-disk-moding the two computers i've mainly used through the years. the first intel imac, that had my music essays and old recordings on, and a macbook i used for actual studio recordings with logic. i came across a ton of plugins on the old macbook (audio units of course), and i'm wondering if there's any magic directory where those AU's went. i've looked in ~/library and the user libraries (including application support) to no avail. i was never a fan of time machine restores, because i always accumulate stuff, over the years, that i never use and should be deleted. he bottom line/question is: where are installed audio units stored, so i can move them from computer to computer?
