May 29, 2008I just purchased my second mac (iMac 24" screen) which has finally made me free from windows. So one of my first things I did was put my 10 year 30,000 photo collection into iPhoto... Everything worked fine except I'm having one problem.... Apparently there were 15 files that were messed up and didn't get imported. Thats fine and no big deal, I can do without them. The problem is EVERYTIME I open iPhoto I get the error message....
Photos have been found in the iPhoto library that were not imported. Would you like to import them?This has a yes or no question.... If I say yes, iphoto will create an "album" that is empty with no photos entitled "recovered photos" and give me the error message....Unreadable FilesThe following files could not be imported (they may be an unrecognized file type or the files may not contain valid data)
If I choose NO, then iPhoto will give me this message....The photos have been placed in the folder /Users/ks72/Pictures/iPhoto Library Recovered Photos_3.
I'm find with trashing these photos and you think after iPhoto placed them in the folder it would stop but it happens EVERYTIME I open iPhoto... I found one thing online somewhere that was partially relevant and it said "go into your iphoto library and find the actual data files which might be difficult due to the naming system and delete them" but how do I go INTO the iphoto library. Everytime I go in my pictures folder and click on the iPhoto library it will just open iPhoto.... am using the latest versions of leopard and iphoto.

Apr 21, 2012I am getting this error "The operation can’t be completed because an unexpected error occurred (error code -50)." when I try to transfer files from my Mac Mini to my External Harddrive which is connected to my Airport Extreme. " The error does not appear to happen all the time. It does seem consistent if I am transfering files and then try to transfer more.
The files I am transferring are .mp4. It does not appear to care about the size of the file, it happens with small files and large files, I can transfer some large folders (2.54G). I can connect the hard-drive externally directly to the mac mini and it will transfer any file.

Apr 8, 2012I keep getting "Open error 18446744073709551594: “Unknown error: -22”" when trying to repair disk permissions. When I boot in recovery mode and try to repair the disk I get the message that the disk can't be repaired that I should back up my files and reformat. Since I hace been hearing about the Flashback trojan I am not sure if it is because my Mac is infected or simply because I somehow messed up with my HD. Any suggestions on how to proceed? Will it be any good to reinstall Lion? Is there any way of avoiding reformatting?

May 12, 2012A movie I purchased stops downloading almost immediately and the error message above comes up. The rest of iTunes works properly and my internet connection is fine. I was downloading numerous TV episodes before and during while this movie was in the cue without any issues. I've restarted my network and that did not seem to fix it.
I've deleted the movie from the cue and re-downloaded it but still same issue.

Apr 22, 2006I have a 60GB iPod w/photo capability and the newest software (1.2.1), iTunes (6.0.4), and iPhoto (5.0.4). Whenever I plug in my iPod recently it gives me an error message: "The iPod "iPod" cannot be updated. An unknown error occurred (-50)." I have tried both USB ports. Didn't work. I have reset the iPod. Didn't work. I have restored the iPod. Didn't work. The iPod loaded my songs but the iPod would not load my photos from iPhoto (and, consequently, my Address Book contacts since they are done after photos). So it seems to be a problem with iTunes-iPhoto-iPod. I have also on a suggestion used Disk Utility to partition my iPod. Didn't work.

Dec 7, 2009Friday, when I tried to enter my computer I have received a log screen. Tried to log but I have received this message "you are unable to log in to the user account "user" at this time because an error occurred" (never happened before). I am sure that the password is correct because the screen doesn't shake, like it happens when I introduce a wrong password. Tried to reboot with "apple S" pressed to go to the root. When I access the directory "Users" I cannot see my user name anymore. Filevault is not activated, never did it. I have very important data from work (my whole year work), I don't have backup and I must not loose it. I was not trying to do an updade or anything, it just happen when I turn on the Mac.
I have tried to do the following things too:
Boot from installation disk #1: Accessed Disk Utility and repaired the disk. There was one error "Mounting of the drive" that was fixed. No other errors found. When I rebooted I got the same message at the login screen. Tried to change the password. I got an error telling me that I don't have permission or an error has occurred. The volume Macintosh HD appears to be ok. Rebooted and still had the same problem.
