I have done a quick generator in motion with graphics and audio. I have saved it and its showing up in FCPX
However when I goto use it I see the graphics but there is no sound that is contained in it.

I'm working on a series of short sports videos that will be playing on jumbotrons, and have been trying to create a Title template in motion, with intent to publish it to use it Final Cut Pro X. I started creating the first title, and then after Saving it and publishing it, I opened FCPX to add the title. The title tile under 'Titles' would appear in the correct category, and would show the tile, until I moved the scrubber over it. Upon scrubbing the new title, or placing it in the timeline and scrubbing it, it would show a RED T error. I was using a newly installed font, so I decided to try a brand new basic template with a basic font, and the same thing would happen.
FCPX and Motion 5 are both updated. I've done this before, but it was a couple of years ago.

I have attached an audio file behaviour to an object. I want the audio to trigger rotation in both directions. When I select 'add' in 'apply mode', I get plus values for rotation along with amplitude. When I select 'subtract', I get negative values for rotation. But when I select 'add and subtract', I only get positive values. So, for example, for the Y axis, I can have rotation to the left, or rotation to the right, but not both.

I've been stumped lately as to what in the world is playing a strange sound that i think is a product of Genius. It happens when I:
- Navigate to the iTunes store
- Click on any links in the itunes store, search, account, etc
- when the Genius side bar is out, and tracks change while playing from my Music.
I have gotten it to stop the incessant noise making when tracks change by turning it off and hiding the side bar; but it still makes the noise when i click playlists, my iphone or ipod, other directories, etc.

Whilst the Genie wowed me the first time I saw it, I chose Scale Effect pretty much as soon as I got OSX, preferring performance over prettiness. I have no experience with the current Mac Pro's. I have a 1,1 original, but I understand that the Nehalem processor is far superior to the Woodcrest from the original.
Question is, with 3300 as the base of an 8 core, does a 2d designer really need that extra processor?
I recently started using bootcamp and I can't seem to find out why my graphics card isn't recognized. I'm running vista home premium 32 bit and it recognizes the graphics card as a basic VGA. I installed the drivers and it still doesn't work.

Now it won't let me update it.When I look at my purchased history, it lists all the apps I've bought, but it has an "Install" next to FCPX. However, it is installed. In fact I've been using it quite recently. However, when I click on the "Install" button, it gives me a message: We could not complete your purchase. Fincal Cut is already installed on this computer. Choose Software Update from the Apple menu to check for available updated. When I do that, it says everything is up to date! How can I correct this? I'm on a MacBook Pro 2.3 i7 running 10.7.2.
View 1 Replies View RelatedRunning 4.1.3 with FCPX and Send to Compressor has all of the distributed processing groups greyed out in the selection drop down. I can only run compressor on This Computer.
If I export the file from FCPX and then drop that into Compressor from the finder it works fine. Is there a reason it is not working when directly connected?
I have deleted and reinstalled both apps but get the same results.

This was discussd here and there last year but here we are again.We left this subject with the following collective thoughts with some varations and name callings:
- MacMini is OK to run FCPX when maxed out with RAM and editing are done in Proxy.
- MacMini quad server has advantages over the standard MacMini but the GPU ( if there is such thing in MacMini ) is not really up to the task.
- The bottle neck is the GPU and the slow drives generally.
A year has passed and manu vendors are displaying thunderbolt boxes in ranges that could take an express card to all the way up to Two PCIe2 cards and FibreChannels and 10GB ethernetcards..Any of thesee boxes could help the MacMini to rise to the battle for FCPX performance? Is it possible to put a high-end PC video card in Sonnet thunderbolt box and get a real GPU out of the combo for example?

I tried to record some audio (voice) with garageband earlier this day and it didn't work! I have a built in microphone that is working fine, it tested it (mac OS X, version 10.5.8) and my input volume level is turned up (system preferences). I tried to record with isight (imovie) and can record a video, but no sound eighter. I've been able to record in the past with garageband so i haven't a single clue what happened.

Also the "mute" box at the bottom right is checked. I cannot "unmute" this check mark. Before i did all the above I pressed the F12 button to increase volume but nothing (no sound) comes off.

I've had a problem with my MacBook Pro (2008) for a while. If I connect a headset or external speakers, there will be no sound from the Macs audio output. The built in speakers is working perfectly. Do you have any idears what could be the reason? I tryed do reset the Pram but with no luck. If it helps there is no red light coming out of the macs output. The problem occurred when I connected a mini-jack for my speakers. Maybe the output thinks it's a S/PDIF and not a normal audio output?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy iMac switches from internal audio output to external when I log in after computer wakes up from sleep mode. It also does it when I "shut down" under apple menu and physically turn on via the power button on back. My quick fix is to go under audio settings and manually switch audio output back to internal speakers. I don't understand why it's switching on it's own. Could another program be switching the audio output, maybe iTunes?

My mums macbook has gone crazy! There is no sound coming from the macbook, and when I went to check if the volume was up the volume box popped up as usual but with a symbol, similar to a no entry sign. Circle with a cross through it. Then I saw a bright red light from within the audio jack itself. When I plugged in ear phones it works fine but the built in speakers are not working.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI purchased a Mac Pro last Thursday after running a G4 350 MHZ machine for far too many years. But it had been such a good machine I focused on it and took my eyes off of technological progress. I thought the PCI buses in the Mac pro were just faster versions of the kind of PCI in the G4. The G4 was outfitted with a Revolution 7.1 sound card from M Audio and that fed into a Creative 6.1 speaker system (with internal amp). The sound was amazing. It was my hope that I'd be able to transfer this card to the Mac Pro and discover even higher quality sound. But before I even tried plugging it in I did some checking and found that PCI Express is an entirely different technology than PCI.
M-Audio has stopped making the Revolution even though they still have drivers for OS X 10.5 (for folks who put this OS onto machines with the original PCI slots, I suppose). So now that this dream has shattered I am wondering what are my options for being able to hear great sound from my new computer. The internal speaker is OK for the beeps and buzzes produced by an OS that wants to get your attention but it sounds horrible when you're trying to watch a surround sound DVD. I'd like to hear from any Mac Pro owners who have found a way to make their computers deliver high quality sound. I know the Mac Pro has optical in and out but have no idea how I could make use of this other than to plug into a rather high priced surround amp.
I recently bought a 2009 Mac Pro. Now, I'm trying to setup a small bedroom home theater. And sound is still my main problem here. I used my Mac Pro mainly for doing graphic works, listening to music, watching movie, and gaming sometimes.

My plan is to get audio out through the optical output. But according to several articles I read online, optical output does not transmit audio when I play music on iTunes or play games (in BootCamp), is it true? So far, I couldn't find any sound card (internal or external) which work for mac pro that has 3 analog 5.1 signal output which I can use with standard 5.1 speakers. The only things I found is the Creative DDTS-100 and the FireWire which were all discontinued. What other options do I have?
Since a couple of days I'm noticing a popping sound during audio playback through my external speakers. That means when playing back a video or music through iTunes, basically always when there's audio playing. I'm in the process of figuring out if it also happens on my regular integrated speakers.
My MBP is the recently released 15" Core i7 model. Only thing I changed is I added an Intel SSD.
Any thoughts as to what it can be? Or where to start looking for a solution?
what is the best audio editing software for Mac to add echo/reverb to a solo singer? i used to use Adobe Audition which was great, now I'm using Mac which "suppose" to be better and more professional in this area, but till now I didn't find any good software that can give me the same feeling of a deep voice effects produced with Adobe Audition...
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy Mac's audio doesn't work anymore, except for the "starting sound". The audio icon now is grey, instead of black. When I try to turn up the volume nothing happens because a "prohibition signal" appears under the volume symbol in the middle of the screen.

I noticed my sound wasn't working, so I did a restart. The "blip" sound when you adjust the volume using F11/F12 would play, but as soon as I tried to run something else (YouTube video, iTunes, etc.), that wouldn't play (just get stuck at whatever point I tried to start it). After that, the blip sound no longer worked either.
I have tried the following things already and none of them fixed the problem (all of them reset the "blip" sound, but it always went away again as soon as I tried to play anything):- running Apple Diagnostics (no problem detected)- resetting PRAM- resetting SMC
I've checked things as suggested in other message boards … there's no red light in my headphone jack, nor is the sound muted under System Preferences. The problem persists whether headphones are in or not.

I've got the old Macbook model, circa 2006. My audio port's been broken for awhile now, and I recently got a 5.1 surround sound system. I've been playing music through my iPod, of course not getting the full surround effect, but would love to be able to hook the Macbook up to this system, be it in full surround or not.
