I clicked on the sharing button in the settings panel and nothing is there! No options what so ever. This is the only set button that exhibits this behavior. I have a 13" 2010 Macbook Pro 2.26 running Lion 10.7.3.

I have a 12inch powerbook 1.5ghz (Most recent of the 12inch PowerBooks) running 10.4.8. Its a very clean install (Format and re-installed last weekend). I started using a bluetooth might mouse during the week. Since waking my computer up from sleep I get Bluetooth: not available. Bluetooth options have all disappeared from preferences. I have tried:
Rebooting
Unpluggin power and removing battery for 60 seconds.
Resetting nvram and restoring defaults.
Deleting the bluetooth preferences file.
If i plug in a usb bluetooth adapter it works fine.
Neither file or web sharing options appear in OSX Server 10.5.8. Had a so called expert migrate our old G4 server up to a newer G5 with 10.5.8. The job has never been finished and we cannot connect our accounts and other PCs to the network.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI first had was the computer names for the iMac was set to MacBook and the actual macbook names switched to MacBook (2). I figured out how to change that, simple enough. On going problem is that now on the iMac I am set to admin but cant view other users folders they have the minus sign in the bottom corner of the folder and some folders and files have the Name "Staff" for permissions. The only users should be myself "TJ" and my wife "Laura". The MacBook is fine with just her and I as users but the iMac is goofy with "staff".

When I try to open a file I get the following box: URL....There is no iCloud option. Same for when I am trying to save. I am signed into iCloud. I then realized that this is because every file inside my iTunes music folder is set for "read only" and not "read & write". So after I change it to "read & write" all changes I make in iTunes will take. However, I have a lot of music and therefore a lot of files inside my iTunes music folder. It started this morning i tried to write something in stickies and the computer went crazy to a blue screen and the loading circle started spinning around so i shut it down, when i loaded it up i had all these problems.

I have seen a few videos about mastering and gave it a try myself. It can be done by clicking the master tab, then going to the Input 1-2 column setting and then clicking setting - mastering, etc.When I first did this a few weeks ago, there were many options such as hip hop mastering, electronic mastering, etc.Now, when I do so, I have different - much less enticing options and have no idea where the good ones went.
I have just purchased a new iMac with Leopard. I already own a MBP with Tiger and I am trying to shares files between the two. The MBP connects to iMac and shows files easy as...however I have enabled sharing on iMac when I choose Network it recognises the MBP but always says connecting and after a few minutes shows connection failed.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have two users defined on my macbook (one is New, and the other one, the Old one, is what I've always had).I was re-configuring File Sharing on the Old user.I turned files sahring off in the Old User, but when I log into the New, I can still acess to some folders that I have never set to be shared; only few folders have the red restricted access on it. The New User does have file sharing disabled, and non of its folder can be accessed; so, it's working Ok for this New User.

I am running an iMac G5 Version 10.5.6 (Leopard) and I have activated every security feature I can find.
I have disabled all sharing, I have disabled guest access, I have the firewall up allowing only essential services, and I am in stealth mode.
In spite of this, he is obviously able to see every website I visit, and I am afraid he can view my email or the court documents etc. on my machine.
When I click on my harddrive icon, I can see his machine, listed as PC server, under 'sharing', even though I have disabled all sharing!!
There does not seem to be an option to disconnect him, or block him.
I am trying to set up my home network to have the iMac share its' media library via iTunes, and access that media on other devices in the home. I would like to use iTunes Music Sharing, which is a very simple setup on the iMac and doesn't require any Apple ID to be entered on the devices accessing the shared library. However, I have found that the iPhone and iPad will not even see the shared media library when the iMac is set up to share its' library.
Only when I enable Home Sharing on the iMac, and configure Home Sharing on the iPhone and iPad, do I see the shared library available on those devices.
I would like to allow other family members in the household to access the shared media library without requiring them to have my Apple ID and password. iTunes Music Sharing is supposed to allow this.
Does iTunes Music Sharing not work when trying to share to an iPhone or iPad?

When I attempt to share my project to a DVD, it gives me the option of 'Next' rather than 'Share' - why? Then it says that the DVD Sharing was successful - but it hasn't! It saves a disk image to the destination. I don't know why the 'Share' option has suddenly changed!! I was burning DVDs just fine a few days ago!
Also, what is the most effective / quick way of burning DVDs using the MacBook, without purchasing other software?

I've got a mac mini that i got less than 2 mos ago, and i'm trying to install ProTools onto my machine from a DVD. When i was initially configuring my machine, i checked out the Remote Disc feature, but over my lame wifi connection, things were taking way too long, and I dropped it. Now, when trying to setup this Pro Tools install, I seem to have lost the ability to use the DVD/CD sharing options in my System Preferences. The option just isn't there anymore. I have the option on my Snow Leopard MBP, and it's enabled there, and the two machines are connected on a computer-to-computer wireless connection.

Today when I tried to find the serial number of my MacBook in "About This Mac" and System Profiler it says Serial Number System Sal#. I haven't replaced the logic board or had any service done and I'm wondering why it would suddenly disappear like this. My MacBook also has not been "sleeping" when the battery gets low, the computer just shuts off without the low power sleep state it usually goes into around ~1% battery left.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got a new macbook pro. I am trying to blue tooth my music and album artwork over to it from my old macbook. When the Artwork was transferring, it transferred before the music, it stopped right before it got done and I got the beach ball. Bluetooth file exchange turned off, so I thought maybe it just got hung up and tried the transfer again. Again Bluetooth file exchange quit right before completing the transfer of album artwork and a message popped up saying I had low memory on my hard drive. I started the process with about 24GB free on the HD, I watched it go from about 5MB yes MB down to 2MB within seconds. I restarted the computer and it went back up to 3.7 and I watched it drop to 3.5MB. All of this fluctuation continued even after the transfer quit and bluetooth file exchange closed. I don't think any other programs were open.
What just happened? Is my new computer in any kind danger since I was transferring files from the old which had the problem?
How can I tell where all this space was taken up so I can delete whatever is taking it up?
It says my video camera isn't connected anymore. I didn't even do anything just turned my comp on and its gone. I repaired permissions and restarted.

Will Diskwarrior help me with this or is it a lost cause?
All my music and photo files are fine, it is just everything that was on the desktop, which was a lot.
When working on my Mac, some times the screen fades up and goes white. The current window becomes invisible and unclear. Most of the time I have to position my Mac against the wall or against someting hard when I am working.
