when I bought my macbook pro computer I have installed this program of Garage Band. But I had to reinstall all the OS and when this came out the Garage Band program disapeared. Do you know if there is a way to have it back? My computer was formatted it.

I have a Macbook Pro OSX Lion. Iphoto and garageband was preinstalled. When I will update it, there is a dialogue box that appears "We could not complete your purchase, product distribution file could not be verified." So I put it in the trash and went to appstore to reinstall again, but it won't. I don't have those two apps for now.

i had an old version but finally upgraded to Garageband 3, the problem is that while i still had the old version I had installed and then deleted some plug ins and now when i try to start GB 3 it says please locate a folder but of course there is none so i hit cancel and then it just says some crap about needing to reinstall the plug in, which i want to do, and will not allow me past this point so I cant ever start the program.

But what do I do about iPhoto, GarageBand and iMovie? Oddly, Lion doesn't include these, even though they were included with the initial computer purchase. The App Store wants to charge me for these, and my only option so far is to drag a copy (in this case GarageBand) from my backup drive, which generated a "Instrument Library in invalid!" error.

The computer, Mac 10.4 Tiger, sent a message that my Startup drive is almost full. I tried to do the best to make more space available and inadvertently must have done something to the files of the Activity monitor. The next morning when I turned the computer on, it went up in smoke, i.e., disappeared and cannot be found in 'applications'.
Do I have to reinstall? Can I reinstall just for the Activity Monitor or ?
I had to reinstall my OS(long story) and everything came back except for IPhoto. I used the reinstall software that came with the computer and found the iLife file. I have since reinstalled iLife ....everything else came back fine(iMovie, Rockband, etc.) but not iPhoto.

i just recently got a macbook pro 13 inch for graduation so I can use for college. Well I love it so far, but today i just recently came into a problem with my garageband. I like to make music and beats, the problem is i was testing the recording software just for fun, and it basically just stopped working. The program still works fine but when I try to record one record feedback, the feedback is this very whiney and high pitched and i cant hear my voice at all. I generally use headphones with the record feedback method but it just didnt work. I havent had my mac that long i'd say this is my third week with it. I tried what I could to see if it would work again, and a popup came up saying, garage band has detected feedback you have three choices, monitor on, monitor off, or feedback protection. I tried all three and they didn't help. What i wanna know is this a harddrive problem or error that has to get fixed at a macstore or shop ? or is there an easy way of correcting it.

Today when I tried to find the serial number of my MacBook in "About This Mac" and System Profiler it says Serial Number System Sal#. I haven't replaced the logic board or had any service done and I'm wondering why it would suddenly disappear like this. My MacBook also has not been "sleeping" when the battery gets low, the computer just shuts off without the low power sleep state it usually goes into around ~1% battery left.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just got a new macbook pro. I am trying to blue tooth my music and album artwork over to it from my old macbook. When the Artwork was transferring, it transferred before the music, it stopped right before it got done and I got the beach ball. Bluetooth file exchange turned off, so I thought maybe it just got hung up and tried the transfer again. Again Bluetooth file exchange quit right before completing the transfer of album artwork and a message popped up saying I had low memory on my hard drive. I started the process with about 24GB free on the HD, I watched it go from about 5MB yes MB down to 2MB within seconds. I restarted the computer and it went back up to 3.7 and I watched it drop to 3.5MB. All of this fluctuation continued even after the transfer quit and bluetooth file exchange closed. I don't think any other programs were open.
What just happened? Is my new computer in any kind danger since I was transferring files from the old which had the problem?
How can I tell where all this space was taken up so I can delete whatever is taking it up?
It says my video camera isn't connected anymore. I didn't even do anything just turned my comp on and its gone. I repaired permissions and restarted.

Will Diskwarrior help me with this or is it a lost cause?
All my music and photo files are fine, it is just everything that was on the desktop, which was a lot.
When working on my Mac, some times the screen fades up and goes white. The current window becomes invisible and unclear. Most of the time I have to position my Mac against the wall or against someting hard when I am working.

I turned on the computer today most of the documents that I have in Qord for Macc (2008) have much of the text invidible. I tried converting to PDF and the words are simply not their. Some text, such as the ToC and words in tables, remains, but main body text is gone.

I saved a file 2 hours ago onto my USB from photoshop called 'finallayout'. the file was pretty large however it has totally disappeared. It is not in my trash and I have search for it on my finder bar. I had saved the psd a week/ two weeks ago as the same final name on my desktop but with less work but that has also disappeared.
