I'm going to be selling my air and I want to do a fresh reinstall of the os . How do I do that so the new user can just turn it on and have the welcome screen with music? In the past when I tried the computer just automatically reboot and started the setup process.
My Mac's cursor tracking speed keeps resetting itself whenever I reboot. I can set the preference again but as soon as I shut down or restart it's right back to being super-sensitive. At first I thought it was interference from my other (bluetooth) mouse. But I disconnected it and am still having the issue.
After a power outage my computer was not quite right. When i restarted it there was a plaid like pattern in all shades of gray , black and white. When i put the pointer on it, the desktop came beck at each part I touched. i sort of was painting it back. I shut it down.
While working on the computer, sometimes the screen will turn gray (from top to bottom) and a message will appear saying the computer must be restarted. So far the local Apple store has not been able to find the problem. The last solution the store tried was to replace the Airport Card, but that didn't work. Computer was purchased in December 2011.
I just tried installing ubuntu via bootcamp. I went through the whole installation process then it asked me to restart. Black Screen for 5min. Manually restarted and my system would only start to another black screen that said GRUB, with no other options. I took the hdd out that I installed ubuntu on and I would get the same problem. Did this somehow change my bios/mac equivalent. Finally was able to get into osx by holding down left mouse button on startup (nothing else would work).
I recently bought a MacBook Pro and I've noticed that there seems to be a problem with the web browser/ intermet connection... I turn on my Mac and the internet works fine, it's fast and loads everything but then the web pages won't load and the blur bar stops at a certain point and I usually have to end up turning my wifi on, then waiting for a while then turning it back on.Sometimes it doesn't work and sometimes it does. It's really quite frustrating. The thing is, the wifi works fine on my ipod and I haven't encountered any similar problems like on my Mac.
Just placed a new harddrive in my macbook pro and had the geeks at the Genius bar to install the OS system. Now I'm dealing with a clicking noise and a grey screen with a question mark on it. Tried to place the install dvd in and boot from the it won't. I did notice after going to the Disk utility that my hardrrive isn't recognized.
I'm trying to re-install my Machintosh OS X software and for that i reboot my mac and press alt or comand-R. All normal until here. But instead the menu of recovery appears, a lock screen whith a password ask appears. I try all passwords that i use or used too unlock my Mac, but nothing work.

I emptied my cache on Safari and my computer stayed frozen for a few minutes. I decided to re-boot, but every time I do so, it goes from the gray Apple screen to a blue screen and stops right there. I don't get the spinning wheel, but rather the black arrow that I can move about the blue screen, but nothing else.
Here's what I've tried with no success. 1. Re-booting via Safe Mode (Command-Shift). Instead of freezing on the blue screen, it asks for my password and after a few seconds it stops on the Snow Leopard Pink/Black Stars background. Same result, only the background is different 2. Resetting PRAM - No luck 3. Re-booting with the Snow Leopard DVD and using Disk Utility. I follow the necessary steps online. No luck
I bought a used MBP (early 2011) with OS X 10.6.8. It's been running just fine, but last night moving files the screen suddenly went black. I rebooted and it will come up to a gray screen and then sit there. The fans start revving up and it gets really really hot. Of course I haven't done a backup recently, so I need the information on the computer.
My MacBook air won't reboot...just has blue screen with apple and circle. Someone said control R which I did then it offered me options. try the other options as I have all of my work on this computer and am afraid of loosing it.
My macbook has a blank black screen and will not switch off or reboot. The cursor is visible and moves I've tried to drain the battery but it is holding its charge.
When I open text edit and yet I haven't saved it, it gives me an error that it can't save it automatically. I don't think I had this error before. here's the error: http://img52.imageshack.us/img52/756/18598786.png Here's the permission for my hard disk: [URL]
Well I finally got the drivers off of the MBA install DVD (URL). Just dumped them on to a USB stick. I installed XP Pro again using bootcamp assistant without a hitch. Rebooted into XP, put the USB stick in and ran the setup.exe off of it. XP blue screened when installing Broadcam drivers it appears.
One minute my computer was fine, the next it froze. I did a hard reboot and now it won't boot past the blue screen, but I can move my mouse. Any idea what to do?
Using my Mac earlier today I lost all sound output, and attempted to reboot it to try and fix the problem. Now instead of booting it's stuck on the white loading screen. I've tried turning it off and on again from here, but I still get the same result.
I was on the computer when it froze on me then the lines popped up and the computer asked me to restart. When I did that, it just freezes on the start up screen now with the lines across it and will do nothing else.
my mid-2012 Macbook Pro Retina laptop is having Retina screen problems at startup, bootup and wakeup modes. The main failure mode is, during reboot or wakeup the laptop's Retina display screen does not work, a blank Retina screen results, and the keyboard does not light up. Also, at random times the laptop will just crash and self reboot, but then during reboot the Retina screen does not work but the computer reboots. Additionally, this laptop, compared to my work's PC laptops is lightly used, mostly for web browsing, photo viewing and email. At first this problem was only intermittent, but now the Retina displace screen failure mode has become a chronic repeating failure mode and is happening almost everyday and stays in this Retina display failure mode for a longer period of time. Additionally, this 2012 Macbook Pro Retina laptop had a failed graphics card within its first 4 months of light use, the failed graphics card had to be replaced.

Is there a way to increase the size of the displayed mail, as you are creating it? I have mine set to 12 point text, but it is still difficult to read. The e-mail when received is fine, it's the creating that's "tiny"?
Ive got a new (ish) Mac Pro that has suddenly decided to pixelate the screen quite badly, little "dots" have appeared, & if I move something on the screen eg a window it blurs the text/image to the point where nothing is readable, it also sometimes leaves a partial trail. I have tried using a different monitor that works on another PC & the same fault occurs, so the fault isnt with the monitor. My system is..Processor 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel XeonMemory 3 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECCGraphics ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MBSoftware Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53) Hopefully someone can shed some light!
I was using my Mac (Macbook Pro 15" screen) and tried opening a file in GarageBand, at which point a warning message came up saying something about a midi file and something not being allowed, and then froze, resulting in me having to switch the computer off from the power button and restarting (Sadly I didnt realise that this would be the start of a whole host of problems and didnt make a note of the warning message). After rebooting I got the 'stuck on the blue screen with the Apple logo and infinitly spinning wheel' problem that i've seen in a few posts. having tried numerous suggestions posted with no change I ended up taking it to the genius section of an Apple store. When i got it back they said that it may have been a corrupted file, and that they re-installed and reset the starting programs (Something along those lines, I cant quite remember). I can now get onto the computer and use it, though some new problems have arisen.......
I have a clip, keyed it out and am now placing a background image Ive used dozens of time. When I drag the gaussian blur over the top of the background clip I usually get a tool that comes up to how much blur to apply. Cant get it to do that now and have no clue how to use it different to get the adjustment to come up.
Can I use a blue ray player to pipe in my imac to my tube tv? the tv only has an s-video, regular rca's,and the red blue green jacks. we are interested in instant netflix, hulu, and also movies in the imac to the tv.
My brand new Macbook Pro's screen keeps dimming the screen all the time regardless of which setting is it on. Its the first time it does that today and it's so annoying!I have the following options: Put the hard disks to sleep when possible, slightly dim the display when using this power source, automatically reduce brightness before display goes to sleep and restart automatically if the computer freezes. The only thing that is check marked is Put the hard disks to sleep when possible and automatically reduce brightness before display goes to sleep...
