Before I upgraded to Lion I was able to edit my .pdf files with Preview. I just needed to rotate and crop scanned book pages. Now I can't do that. What can I use or do instead.

I scanned some documents with my printer/scanner and don't want to have to rescan every time. I made them too big, they are 20+ megs, and I know with JPEGs one can just "flatten" the file. Can that be done with scanned docs too? If so, how? Do I need a special app for that? I have Preview and iPhoto, plus the MS Office package for the Mac.

Can I save multiple scanned documents in one file?

I scanned a document and emailed to my self. I then forwarded that email to another person but the scanned attachment did not forward.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMacBook Pro - I scanned in photos and they entered into the computer in tif file. I tried several different ways to convert them to jpg. I finally read that if I transferred them into iPhoto they would automatically go into jpg form. I went to use them for the website I am making and they still can't be transferred so I am assuming that they are still in tif format.

I have scanned a bunch of recipes to my Macbook Pro and they all went to the Preview. The only problem is I can't copy or paste the recipes because, I guess, they are not in document form. Is there any way to change the recipes in Preview to a document? Or what would be the best way to scan recipes? I need to be able to copy and paste.Â

This may be a really dumb question. I have an iMac and just bought an all-in-one hp printer. I just scanned a document and now can't find it. Where do scanned docs go?

View 22 Replies View RelatedI have a lot of PDF and other files in general that I would like to keep sorted by date. Normally in finder options I would sort them by date but the problem is that the bulk of them were added to my laptop by scanning, e mail hard drives so the creation dates of these files is not necessarily the same date as these statements. I tried naming theses files by date e.g. 10/02/12 etc but obviously this did not work as numbers are recognised in sequence and not by calender.

I'm looking for good, low-cost software that can turn my scanned paper into searchable PDF, Word, or other documents. As you know most of the software that comes with a printer is limited and really can not perform searches on documents.
I'm new to the Mac world so I am just learning about the software, In the windows world there is a software package-Nuance PDF Converter Pro that does a very good job. however they do not have aMac version.
How do I make a scanned text searchable in Acrobat 7 Pro?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I scan an image (my scanner is an HP Photosmart C4480) and save it as a PNG, it scans and saves fine. However, when I open the file in Preview, it flashes up a low-quality version of the image for a split second, and then just turns black. Sometimes when zooming I can get the low-quality image to appear again, but then it just turns black again.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy annual accounts are due and I'm scanning all of my receipts. I have obviously put in scanner so they tessellate and fit neatly; only I keep coming across some that are in-correct in their dates (I've arranged the folders by months). I scan the mentioned receipt/receipts then I want to move them so they fit into a page with space and tessellate with the others (wasteful and not an option to have pages with only one receipt). Already tried using the 'touch up object tool' to try to move it; which looks like will work but image is behind/ disappears. It has gotta be possible to move things onto a page, does not have capabilities/ made for purpose of photoshop but only want to move something onto a page-not unreasonable request .

View 3 Replies View RelatedIs there a program that can turn scanned line art (that's been done with pen and paper) into a computer image that acts as if it were drawn straight on the computer (for example, you could fill a certain section with colour). Either automatically or if you can have it in the background, trace over it with your mouse tools, then take it away.

Where does the HP Scan software stores the scanned images? I know there's an option to save the images to desktop after scan, but before I save it to desktop where does it store the files? It needs to be somewhere because I see the image in the app.Â

I have, somehow, reset my entire OSX. The Dock is now huge, all of my icons are now reset to the default ones when I originally bought the Macbook Pro. The software is still there but the icons have been reset. The icon no longer bounces when I open it.
And I know exactly why. I was in Windows through bootcamp doing routine maintenance and decided to do a full scan using Microsoft Security Essentials. I forgot to have it ignore the E:/ drive which is where MacOSX installed. It must have got 25% through scanning it before I realized it. I don't even know if that can cause a problem but it obviously did. I booted into OSX just to double check everything was ok. It loaded fine, all icons where there and seemed like everything was ok. Except the icons weren't bouncing when I opened up an application even though it was checked in the preferences. This frustrated me so I rebooted again to see if that would fix the issue and now here I am. Completely back to factory defaults. My software is still there but the Dock reset itself and it seems as if other things reset. I'm doomed. So how do I start a reinstall process? Insert the Snow Leapord disk?
