I have a lot of scanned documents in pdf and jpg formant. Is there any application that can search for me in them? Evernote does search but you need to upload it to the internet.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI scanned some documents with my printer/scanner and don't want to have to rescan every time. I made them too big, they are 20+ megs, and I know with JPEGs one can just "flatten" the file. Can that be done with scanned docs too? If so, how? Do I need a special app for that? I have Preview and iPhoto, plus the MS Office package for the Mac.

I'm trying to send some scanned documents via mail. The PDF file is 19 MB. Its a yahoo based account that allows a maximum file size of 25MB. I can send it through the webmail client wheni log into yahoo, but i cant send anything larger then about 12MB through mail.Â

Lately I have downloaded a lot of files from Google Drive, and I'm trying to sort a lot of documents (262 exactly) by finding a set of numbers and letters that only one kind of document has.
For example, I'm trying to find the documents that have "5R-ET1" to see which documents has those set of letters inside the documents to sort them in a diffrent folder.Is there something in the Finder that can allow me to do this, or is there like this program which compares documents that fits my use?

Sometimes titles do not match the content. If I have a bunch of files with similar title, i.e. Chapter 1, 2, etc., but I want to find the chapter with the jabberwock in it, I used to be able to type "jabberwock" and it would come up in my search window. Now it's only finding titles. I have so many files on my puter that it's taking me forever to find important documents. Where did they hide this feature??? Tearing my hair out.

So, my life revolves around text notes that i use to organize, find, and tag ideas and documents ... It's upsetting to me when i do a finder search fro something example : " infowarsdotcom " and a file called " 2012 project tttinfowarsdotcom tttuse" doesn't show up unless i enter " tttinfowarsdotcom " I don't know, I feel like i'm missing out when i search something and i can't find it under contents or file name, even though it's obviously there. yes i am spelling it right. so, is there a more comprehensive system of searching / organizing that i could download / implement ? If yall could help me out with this, it would make my life a loooooott smoother. Is there some settings for full words & stuff that i can turn off?

I am aware of the bar at the side which allows you to view a list of annotations, and I have "selected all", but the option of copying is not available. I would to know if there is a possibility of me having all the highlighted text copied and available to be pasted on a word document in one hit?
I am on an iMac which recently moved to Snow Leopard (10.6.2). I am preparing documents in Word (12.2.3 rtf) but when, after having saved them in Word rtf, I reopen them they reappear automatically in Textedit.

I then open let's say an Appleworks text document from that search. Then I close that document and retry the same search: Now that same document will not show up in the search results for that exact word and it WILL NEVER show up again in search results. In other words after a file has been found and opened in search once , it will never appear in search results again for the same word.Â

I'm suddenly getting a ghosting effect on my Macbook's screen and text in documents and windows is sometimes barely readable. Strangely the machine starts up with a perfect image for a short time, then changes, so I suspect software rather than hardware. I've tried playing with settings in system preferences as well as repairing permissions. Should I perhaps try a PMU reset?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy annual accounts are due and I'm scanning all of my receipts. I have obviously put in scanner so they tessellate and fit neatly; only I keep coming across some that are in-correct in their dates (I've arranged the folders by months). I scan the mentioned receipt/receipts then I want to move them so they fit into a page with space and tessellate with the others (wasteful and not an option to have pages with only one receipt). Already tried using the 'touch up object tool' to try to move it; which looks like will work but image is behind/ disappears. It has gotta be possible to move things onto a page, does not have capabilities/ made for purpose of photoshop but only want to move something onto a page-not unreasonable request .

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am unable to use the search window on the right to get results when Google is selected as the search engine.I type in a search term and I am directed to a blank google search page. I have to type in the search term again, then I see a list of "hits". But when
I click on one of these hits I am not directed to the URL displayed. I have quit out of Safari and relaunched. I have rebooted my Mac. Neither changes the problem... This is a Google problem: I have the same symptoms when I use Safari on Windows XP. When I switch the search engine to Bing, the problems go away, for both platforms Has Google been hacked? Is this a Google attack on Safari?  How can I enter GoGoDuck as a search engine choice? Â
