OS X :: Where Do Scanned Documents Go

This may be a really dumb question. I have an iMac and just bought an all-in-one hp printer. I just scanned a document and now can't find it. Where do scanned docs go?

I have an iMac (Snow Leopard 10.6.2) with a HP Photosmart scanner/printer and have just scanned about a dozen documents. My problem is I can't find them. Where do they default save to and how do I change this default?

MacBook Pro :: Reduce The Size Of Scanned Documents?
I scanned some documents with my printer/scanner and don't want to have to rescan every time. I made them too big, they are 20+ megs, and I know with JPEGs one can just "flatten" the file. Can that be done with scanned docs too? If so, how? Do I need a special app for that? I have Preview and iPhoto, plus the MS Office package for the Mac.

OS X Leopard :: Scanned Pictures Show Up Inverted
I've scanned in a couple of pix, but they're come out the wrong way up. Bit of a drag, but I inverted 'em the right way up using iPhoto. So now I've uploaded 'em onto ebay & they're still in their original 'upside down' state? They appear the right way in Finder, but they're still upside down on the web?

1) Why's that?
2) How do I rectify it?
3) How do I know which way up they really are?

(Yes I know I can rescan, but that takes minutes - using iPhoto is quicker!)

Software :: Can Turn My Scanned Paper Into Searchable PDF
I'm looking for good, low-cost software that can turn my scanned paper into searchable PDF, Word, or other documents. As you know most of the software that comes with a printer is limited and really can not perform searches on documents.

I'm new to the Mac world so I am just learning about the software, In the windows world there is a software package-Nuance PDF Converter Pro that does a very good job. however they do not have aMac version.

Hardware :: Scanned PNG Not Appearing Correctly In Preview
Whenever I scan an image (my scanner is an HP Photosmart C4480) and save it as a PNG, it scans and saves fine. However, when I open the file in Preview, it flashes up a low-quality version of the image for a split second, and then just turns black. Sometimes when zooming I can get the low-quality image to appear again, but then it just turns black again.

Applications :: Moving Scanned Images In Acrobat Pro
My annual accounts are due and I'm scanning all of my receipts. I have obviously put in scanner so they tessellate and fit neatly; only I keep coming across some that are in-correct in their dates (I've arranged the folders by months). I scan the mentioned receipt/receipts then I want to move them so they fit into a page with space and tessellate with the others (wasteful and not an option to have pages with only one receipt). Already tried using the 'touch up object tool' to try to move it; which looks like will work but image is behind/ disappears. It has gotta be possible to move things onto a page, does not have capabilities/ made for purpose of photoshop but only want to move something onto a page-not unreasonable request .

OS X V10.7 Lion :: How To Sort Scanned PDF Files
I have a lot of PDF and other files in general that I would like to keep sorted by date. Normally in finder options I would sort them by date but the problem is that the bulk of them were added to my laptop by scanning, e mail hard drives so the creation dates of these files is not necessarily the same date as these statements. I tried naming theses files by date e.g. 10/02/12 etc but obviously this did not work as numbers are recognised in sequence and not by calender.

IPhoto 11 :: Working With Scanned Photographs - Unable To Change Date
It does not allow me to change the date (when I try both as batch change and 'change date & time' it returns absurd dates like 1792). For those of us who have an archive of old photos that we have scanned, it makes working with them very difficult. Something that was not the case in iphoto 09. In the event view, I am unable to order the pictures manually, as that is unhighlighted. I need this feature as I have many pictures from years ago that I have scanned and put by years. It is a mess, and Apple needs to do something about it. Digital are not the only photos people have, and they to get up to speed with the world that is saving old material digitally. I find Apple lagging.

OS X :: Accidentally Scanned From Bootcamp And Reset - How To Start Reinstall Process
I have, somehow, reset my entire OSX. The Dock is now huge, all of my icons are now reset to the default ones when I originally bought the Macbook Pro. The software is still there but the icons have been reset. The icon no longer bounces when I open it.

And I know exactly why. I was in Windows through bootcamp doing routine maintenance and decided to do a full scan using Microsoft Security Essentials. I forgot to have it ignore the E:/ drive which is where MacOSX installed. It must have got 25% through scanning it before I realized it. I don't even know if that can cause a problem but it obviously did. I booted into OSX just to double check everything was ok. It loaded fine, all icons where there and seemed like everything was ok. Except the icons weren't bouncing when I opened up an application even though it was checked in the preferences. This frustrated me so I rebooted again to see if that would fix the issue and now here I am. Completely back to factory defaults. My software is still there but the Dock reset itself and it seems as if other things reset. I'm doomed. So how do I start a reinstall process? Insert the Snow Leapord disk?

The Documents icon in my Home folder is hidden. The icon still appears in the sidebar, but it is missing in the finder windows and Open & Save dialog boxes.
