Applications :: Converting Scanned Line Art Into Computer Image?
Jun 29, 2010
Is there a program that can turn scanned line art (that's been done with pen and paper) into a computer image that acts as if it were drawn straight on the computer (for example, you could fill a certain section with colour). Either automatically or if you can have it in the background, trace over it with your mouse tools, then take it away.
i'm looking to take scanned pages and convert them into text files (pdfs that i can search)... i've heard that acrobat pro can do it (i've tried the "paper capture" thing, but with no luck...?), and also heard that omnipage pro can do it (i don't have it though)...
anyone have any experience with this, and which app(s) can do it, and how?
I am looking for an application that converts comic book files (cbr) to a image files. I have done a bit of searching and turned up with nothing useful.
I have a whole bunch of swf files, they all contain basically what is a printed page. I would like to convert them into a PDF/Image. I have tried everything, flash decompilers result in a whole bunch of text/image files all broken up into bits of the page, with no formatting. When I view the swf files with a swf viewer, say iSwiff, the page flashes up for a brief second, then goes away. Tried multiple viewers, including firefox. If I do a screen recording then I can see the page, but only for one video frame. I have tried swf to image/video converters, they only say the file has 1 frame, and that frame has nothing on it. How can I convert these swf files to ANY other format than this?
i took a dvd of a sports game my friend shot. I used mac the ripper to rip it to my computer. I got the video_ts folder. I want to convert it to a disk image. How do i do that? What program will let me do that? (free i hope)
I want to convert an ISO DVD backup to a format that the iPod touch can handle and still be able to keep the menus and chapters and such. Is this even possible?
The first method is really quick while the second method takes quite a long time. Do the two methods yield the same ISO file? In particular, I would like to convert a bootable CDR disk image to an ISO disk image.
i am gonna install VM fusion on my macbook air and the problem is that i left my window xp cd installation at my friends house. Can i install iso image or something like that so that i can ask him to convert it and then send to me via internet so that i can use the image file to install VM fusion. Btw, he and i, not sure how to convert it.
I have a lot of scanned documents in pdf and jpg formant. Is there any application that can search for me in them? Evernote does search but you need to upload it to the internet.
My annual accounts are due and I'm scanning all of my receipts. I have obviously put in scanner so they tessellate and fit neatly; only I keep coming across some that are in-correct in their dates (I've arranged the folders by months). I scan the mentioned receipt/receipts then I want to move them so they fit into a page with space and tessellate with the others (wasteful and not an option to have pages with only one receipt). Already tried using the 'touch up object tool' to try to move it; which looks like will work but image is behind/ disappears. It has gotta be possible to move things onto a page, does not have capabilities/ made for purpose of photoshop but only want to move something onto a page-not unreasonable request .
my friend and I work on projects together, but he uses a Macbook Pro and I use the iMac. I like to work on projects in final cut pro and he likes iMovie. For some reason, iMovie on the Macbook Pro doesn't not take .mov files. So I have been converting them to MPEG4. But the quality isn't the same. When we put it together.
I purchased a new MacBook 13" laptop over the summer and it has OSX 10.5. Can I use the disks that came with this to install OSX 10.5 on an older G5 tower?
I'm interested in converting the G5 to a gaming computer and partitioning with bootcamp so that I may play PC games.
My computer will not acknowledge the two printers I use, a MFC-9840cdw or the HP B8550. It says both printers are offline. I have tried to reload drivers, and tried the other troubleshooting options. Nothing has worked. The evening that it quit communicating there was a big thunderstorm, but I had turned my computer off. The next morning the imac was not acknowledging the printers.
Info: iMac (24-inch Early 2009), Mac OS X (10.6.8)
Is there any place in the Workgroup Manager where I can set the background image of the connected computers? I can't see any, but I'm thinking it must be possible.
I need a program to convert to .wmv. I have some videos that I need to upload to Youtube, and in .mov and .mp4 formats, their sound is either delayed or early. It's ridiculous!
I've been reading that .wmv is the best format to upload to youtube. Are there any free .mov to .wmv converters out there for Mac?
I want to store my contacts on gmails address book system (already on address book on my mac and hotmail, yay vcard support from hotmail). How can i convert my vcards to a .csv file
I've done a lot of research on the best method to convert old 8 MM tapes to DVD. I don't have a working 8 MM camcorder anymore, but have lots of old tapes with family footage. Apparantly some Digital8 Camcorders can play back old 8 MM tapes, and then can be transferred digitally to my computer via firewire cable to iMovie or Final Cut Pro. This is what I would prefer to do. However, has anyone done this with a specific camera? I've read that not all Digital8 Cameras play back old 8 MM tapes. Some people say you can't even do it this way. I would like to do this myself so that I can edit my video.
Pulled an old hard disk from a windows box, and all the file names for my tunes are in order, but these are not the ID3 tags, so as soon as imported into iTunes, its just showing 'Track 1, track 2 etc'. Is there an app I can run these files through, to convert the file name to ID3 tags before importing?
I have some songs in WMA format on a CD, but it's not an audio CD. In older versions of iTunes, you could import and convert. In iTunes 8 there is no longer the option, and when I try the Add to Library feature, nothing happens?
After cleaning up my house and noticing I have a very lengthy movie collection I decided I should probably back them up incase anything happened. I have been thinking of investing in another mac to do this. (just gives me a reason to give the lady of the house an excuse to buy one haha) But I was wondering is there any way I can just Rip my dvd's straight to .iso? I figure if i ever need a copy iso would provide me the quick way to make it. I cant find any straight software that rips to iso. Im preferably looking for free software but I wouldn't mind investing 30 bucks or so in a decent app. I also assume if its an iso I should be able to just burn it to a new dvd with Disk Utility. Is this correct or will the software be capable of doing it.
I need someone to take pity in my soul and convert a .pages file to PDF for me. I believe my email address is visible on the forums. Full story: A good friend of mine, who unfortunately is not very computer-savvy, has asked me to print a poster at a printing shop near my workplace. Since it's no hassle at all for me to stop by for 5 minutes on my way into work, I gladly accepted.
This poster was made using Apple Pages. However, he didn't think enough to export it to PDF, and I've now come to find that the printing shop can't open .pages files. Since I can't reach my friend right now
I need a tool to convert an .AVI movie file with an .SRT subtitle file to a DVD format. I mean it should be able to authorise a DVD with the subtitles. Is there a good application that can do that? I HAVE looked on VersionTracker, but it's a friggin' jungle..
It does not matter what license it has. If it's a good app, I don't mind shelling out some $$$ for it.
