As I was passing around a shop where they sold MBP's of all sizes, I tried them out. Amazingly, every single one of them seemed to freeze when I opened iPhoto, for not a short time. Am I not understanding something about it or is it just freezing?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy mac is freezing all the time. I can't have more than three programs open at the same time, like forefox, word and spotify. If I do that, it crashes and have to turn it off with the power button. I have some big programs on it, like all the Adobe programs. The mac is just over a year old. It have a 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, and have 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR 3 memory, also running iOS 10.9.4. I have 388,82 GB available of 499,25 GB.

Time Machine on my iMac won't open iPhoto. It goes to desktop screen automatically. When I select User/Picture/Iphoto library it only brings up the preview page with the size of the folder. I can't get into the library to look for lost photos.

I am trying to restore iPhoto from my backup and it will not allow me to open it from Time Machine. I'm following the protocol from Apple but still get the same "cannot open from Time Machine" message.

After I had a full backup to iomega external hard drive I wanted to see photos in iPhoto library by using Time Machine. I can see the iPhoto Library icon on Time Machine, but when I click on an icon it does not open the folder and I can't see the pictures stored on iomega external hard drive. All other backed up documents I can see and restore if I need it.

I recently clean installed 10.5. I setup iChat with both AIM and Google Talk. Everything was running fine until now. When I start up iChat, the program logs in and out really fast until I receive this error message. "Could not connect to AIM... You have attempted to login too often in a short period of time. Wait a few minutes before trying to login again." This happens over and over again.

However, the process got stuff with a spinning beach ball and my mbp completely froze! When I cold booted it, it launched iphoto on its own and the whole process repeated. I had to reboot in safe mood in order to break it. In safe mode too iphoto library froze the machine.

I have a 24" 2.66 bought in Oct 09 and it is current with updates. No matter what I do it will not stay asleep, even when I manually put in down with the power button it wakes a short time later. Is there no solution to this simple problem I know many experience?

Then for some reason when I try to open an application like iPhoto, or iTunes, or and external hard drive the system freezes up.I can still open up a browser such as Safari, or Firefox, but no applications not even the Finder. Yesterday, I ran a new Lion when rebooting my system but that didn't help. From the utilities I repaired the Mac drive.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a brand new macbook pro that I bought about 4 months ago. I am running snow leopard and out of the blue one day my computer gave me the spinning wheel and it went on for so long I had to power off my notebook by holding down the power. When I turned it back on I was stuck on the apple screen and I couldn't get passed it. So, I did a clean install and just moved all of my personal files and folders that my computer backed up to their original location.
After doing all of this and being up and running again I noticed when I try to access a personal folder on my system that contains images (jpegs, pngs) and some videos and psd files that my computer starts freezing up again and spinning and I have to power it off to get it to stop. I have resorted my permissions and ran Onyx once a week since this has happened and the folder is still giving me issues. I need to access this folder asap.
I am not able to open the apps on my Macbook Pro OS X 10.9.4, they just bounce. Activity Monitor gets so frozen I cannot find out what the hold up is. Screen freezes in some of the system preferences as well - Users, Parent Controls Accessibility. I do not have a disk, no disk drive to reinstall.

I just had a few questions for the people out there who do a little light gaming on their Air. Yes I know it's not a gaming laptop of course. My question is has any one experienced choking or freezing with light games such as Open Arena and Warsow. Both of these games can easily play on a old PIII with 128MB of RAM. They both play smooth as hell for about 15-20 minutes and then out of no where it's starts choking every minute. I've kept an eye on the heat and CPU usage which are both fine.

I just imported some photos into IPhoto 09 and shortly afterwards my IMac did a hard shut down. Now when I open IPhoto I get the following error:
The Photo Library nees to be upgraded to work with this version of IPhoto.
After that I click on upgrade and get the following msg:
Can't open current photo library using this version of Iphoto.
ive had my macbookpro for about a year and a half at this point, and no real problems. i always upload photos from my canon digital SLR into iphoto, and today for some reason on one specific photo, the upload kept freezing. i rebooted, forced quit, etc. none of that worked. i deleted the photo and tried again- it only froze on the photo before the previous one. so i deleted the one after, thinking perhaps that was the problem. nope. so now im just short some pictures i actually liked and this thing is still freezing. ive read of options to upload to a folder then iphoto, but my camera does not show up as accessible hardware anywhere... so from what i can tell, i cant do that unless i go purchase card readers and the whole lot, but that seems ridiculous as this has worked for well over a year, and on my powerbook before this.

The screen will freeze, sound will stop, but the color wheel will spin and i can move it around with the trackpad. I don't know what is causing this/any possible fixes to my problem. I purchased the macbook pro in mid 2009 and it has OS X lion 10.7.3 installed on it.

so I have a 1.33GHz iBook G4 with 1.5GB of RAM and a 40GB hard drive.
Last night I reinstalled the OS, which is to say I reinstalled the Leopard upgrade disk. All went well.
Then I pulled out my time machine back up, opened Migration Assistant and started moving everything over, and that's where it all went horribly wrong.
The first time I did this it stayed at 4 minutes remaining for about an hour and a half. I gave up and hit quit, but something'd been copied across because my hard drive only had about 9GB left, but I can't see any of the stuff that's taking up all this space.
So, I whip out the Leopard disk again and start all over. I figure maybe Migration Assistant's just one of those things that needs to sit for ages. This time it seemed to freeze at 38 minutes remaining but I went to bed and left it.
I have the iLife 08 version of iPhoto and i inserted my sd card, selected photos and clicked import selected. It freezes on 47 left and i have to force quit. Even stopping doesn't work.

When i open my Iphoto a text box opens up and asks if i would like Iphoto to connect to my digital camera, even though i do not have my camera plugged in. when i go to click one of the three options it freezes up and then must be force quit. I've tried to let it run it coarse in hope that it comes out of the frezze but this has not worked.
