I'm getting into video and use my canon 5D mark 2 to film. does anyone use a macbook pro to edit 5D files? i'm also looking at the 14 and 17 inch hp envys that are coming out in the coming months. I'll surely get at least 8 gigs of ram and an ssd.
View 3 RepliesUsed to run Flip4Mac Pro Version 2.2.3.7 with Quicktime 7 Pro on Leopard.Upgraded to Snow Leopard and got the 'Quicktime must be installed on this machine...' messages. OK, fair enough. Known issue.
Installed the Snow Leopard compatible 2.3.0.11-BETA with Pro licence but now have lost the ability to trim movies once they are opened in the Quicktime X window. However, if I navigate and open with Quicktime 7 Pro I can trim them.
Can anyone explain I should expect to happening and/or if this a bug or what?
I have an account in Mail.app that won't let me do anything to the e-mails coming into it. I can't delete e-mails, I can't mark them as read, and if I try to move an e-mail to another mailbox, it's copied, not moved.I've tried repairing disk permissions, and I've tried to remove the account and then adding it again ? but the problem persists. "Rebuild" in the Mailbox menu is inactive when this mailbox is selected, but works on my other accounts.The same account works fine on my iPhone; mails are getting marked as read and I can delete and move e-mails around. View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been working on a project in iMovie for a few days, and it has been working perfectly. Today, I opened up my project and I could not play the project (the red line would move, but no picture would show up in the upper right hand corner box) and ALL of the options in the "share" tab were gray and unable to click them. Many options in the "edit" and "file" tabs were unable to be clicked as well.
Another project i completed months ago is working perfectly. The clips in the events play/show up on the window in the upper right hand corner

I've recently upgraded to Lion and have found that Quicktime movies and embedded Flash movies won't work. With the embedded flash all I get is a black box, and with quicktime movies, such as the ones on the Apple website, I get nothing - the irony of not being able to watch movies on the Apple site with my Apple iMac gives me a little chuckle. Anyways ....... I've been reading thread after thread and trying lots of different things but nothing works. I've got this feeling inside that says it's something simple but just can't seem to find it.

"After the network name (SSID) that an be used for the smart device is displayed, select the SSID displayed on the camera" I don'e seem to be able to find this, or I am just not getting it. I know if I go with the MBP then I can for sure but if I can just do what I need with the regular MB I wanna do that. I wanna be able to video edit movies that I make. Generally 1-2 hours in length. I don't really need to be able to do special effects or whatever. What specs would be good for this? Also, I have never owned a Mac before. What software should I buy with it in order to do this?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm considering whether to buy a 13" base model (except 4gb RAM) or a 13" ultimate (2.13/4/256), which is stocked by my local Apple Store. The base model would be fine for what I do now (Pages, Safari, Mail, Skype, Netflix streaming). But I'm thinking of getting into video editing in the next year. A reviewer on Amazon wrote this about the 13" base model with 2gb RAM: "I've edited HD video on the unit (no problems), (though exporting is obviously much slower than on my imac, as to be expected, but editing and working on the footage was pretty much the same, it's only in exporting where you realize the machine is slower). If you do a lot of video work, or you render out animations a lot, you can use this machine to do your work, and your desktop to handle the heavy processing. Just store your files on a usb flash drive and xfer to your desktop to handle the render. I plan [more tests with] iphoto and imovie, (I want to try out the new features) as well as my regular workflow (lightroom / cs5) and final cut.".....

Created a movie in imovie and I finalized it and put it in a usb. Now I need to go back and edit the video again but I can't find it! How can I put it back on imovie so that I can keep editing it?
