Despite following onscreen instructions, I cannot change my Apple ID. There is no blue 'Edit' to the right of it on the list as there is with my name and password. How can I do this?

I use a text edit file as a to-do list; however, it doesn't play nice. When I click on its icon, it pops up somewhere other than where I want it. I've tried "Preferences" and TextEdit help on and off line. I can't find any info on it. I'm probably not using the exact words that 'help' would recognize. I've tried saying "Simon Says" too, but that doesn't work either.

Back in Snow Leopard, there was a discussion article that said iCloud broke the ability to edit a distribution list, but that it would likely be fixed in Lion. how to do this in Lion? No matter what I do, that option is greyed-out in my Edit menu.

So my dad is finally switching from his beloved gmail.com web app to Mail. There is just one problem. A bunch of his contacts that he normally emails are already in Address Book. However, Gmail has a list of about 300 people that he has emailed in the past. He probably still emails about 100 of them from time to time.. I noticed Mail.app has a "Previous Recipients" list, and you can delete entries from the list or add them to address book. Is there anyway I can manually add some of the email addresses from his Gmail account into that list? In Snow Leopard, the file seems to be located in ~/Library/Application Support/Address Book/MailRecents-v4.abcdmr
I know I can just export all the contacts and put them into Address Book, but he uses his address book's all contacts field on his iPhone, and I don't want to clutter that with those email addresses. Unless there is a way of making an entry that appears in a specific address book group, but not in all contacts.
I have iMac 27 and screen problem on start up i have blue vertical lines, when it start i have a lot of blue dots and nothing else. when I connect outside monitor its showing the same.
Just installed lion and still the same problem when it starts blue dots, when startup in safe mode loads of blue lines and dots on the screen.

After a few minutes of rebooting the machine i will use spotlight and it will be very flickery. Like when updating results, the blue bar flickers white and blue very quickly and almost unnoticeable. Also, related, when scrolling a list in the dock through a stack shown in list mode, it flickers a lot there as well. Is this normal behaviour for these machines/leopard in general? I'm used to using a crappy old iBook so i dont know if im just being pedantic.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been working on a project in iMovie for a few days, and it has been working perfectly. Today, I opened up my project and I could not play the project (the red line would move, but no picture would show up in the upper right hand corner box) and ALL of the options in the "share" tab were gray and unable to click them. Many options in the "edit" and "file" tabs were unable to be clicked as well.
Another project i completed months ago is working perfectly. The clips in the events play/show up on the window in the upper right hand corner
I want to connect a wireless Epson XP 510 printer. Installed drivers from the Epson website but they do not appear to be compatible according to the drop down list in the apple menu for adding a printer.

I was reviewing audio books on my wish list and the list just became empty. I have stopped and restarted iTunes and I have manually re-logged into my apple account but the list keeps coming up empty. View 2 Replies View Relatedwhile i am using my macbook the screen will suddenly go blue and flash between different blue colors like it is trying to work. sometimes it comes back on but most of the time it stays like that. I have to force shut down with the button and then restart...about half the time it is still flashing blue after the restart and if it does work, it goes blue eventually.
dont know if its a problem with the screen or what because the computer continues to work...if there is a movie on, you can here it in the background and the screen just flashes.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm considering whether to buy a 13" base model (except 4gb RAM) or a 13" ultimate (2.13/4/256), which is stocked by my local Apple Store. The base model would be fine for what I do now (Pages, Safari, Mail, Skype, Netflix streaming). But I'm thinking of getting into video editing in the next year. A reviewer on Amazon wrote this about the 13" base model with 2gb RAM: "I've edited HD video on the unit (no problems), (though exporting is obviously much slower than on my imac, as to be expected, but editing and working on the footage was pretty much the same, it's only in exporting where you realize the machine is slower). If you do a lot of video work, or you render out animations a lot, you can use this machine to do your work, and your desktop to handle the heavy processing. Just store your files on a usb flash drive and xfer to your desktop to handle the render.
