Everything works except the right click(2 fingers) and keyboard light. I remember when I installed Xp on my MacBook; there was bootcamp assistant or setting in xp but I dun see it in the MacBook pro.As for the keyboard light, I tried to turn off the room light but it's still not working.
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen I right click and open the secondary ("right") menu and accentily right click it again the right click acts like a left click. Is this normal?
Example: When I right click on a picture and the cursor is in the menu it will automatically left click what it is over.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had a 27in i7 for a few weeks now and it's been working great. Just the other day, I set up a second user account on the machine for my wife. After messing with some of the preferences under the new profile, I realised that the mouse wouldn't "right-click" at all in that user account. I go into Preferences>Mouse and check the secondary click box, but this has no effect. When I close Preferences and open again, the box is un-checked. This problem is only in the new user account. My own, original administrator account has no such problem - right-click is working fine.

we are trying to hook up our TV as a secondary monitor (for hulu, netflix, etc) but it defaults as the primary monitor. We would like to keep the imac as the primary monitor, and have the TV as a secondary, but cannot figure out how to do it! The only way we can get the imac back to primary status is if we use mirror mode. Once we take it off mirror mode, the TV becomes the primary monitor again, and there appears to be no way of switching it in OSX display preferences.
I've done similar hookups with my laptop, and the TV defaults as the secondary monitor. Why isn't this happening with our iMac? Any ideas?
When browsing using Firefox (Haven't tried other browsers) and using the two finger gesture to scroll, it will stop scrolling, won't go down or up, and the only way to get it unstuck is to wiggle the page slider and then it will work again. Is this a Firefox, OSX, or hardware issue and is there a fix to it?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a mid-2009 13 inch mbp and I have been having problems with 2 finger swiping on the trackpad. When I use two finger swipe up/down for scrolling through websites in Safari, it also does Expose as if I am using 4 fingers. This only happens when I try to scroll through a page fast.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI tried to do an import from my old MB to my new MBP (unibody) and I got so much of bloat and crap from the old one, that I just reinstalled OSX on the MBP - which has literally saved me gigs. Here's a problem though: Before I could use 3 fingers on the trackpad to "jump" up and down (the beginning or end) on a webpage, but now I am unable to do that, only left to right (forward/backward) is working. How do I get that old functionality back? And my second question, after I installed osx you get that "welcome animation" which basically says "welcome" in a lot of languages. How do I get that to play again?
View 7 Replies View RelatedIf you all knew about this before then sorry - I just haven't seen any mention of it anywhere but it definitely works. It may only be a program specific thing cos it doesn't work in mail or itunes but in iWork it jumps a page at a time and in firefox it skips to the bottom of the page. I find it very useful when browsing so I thought I'd let you know. You put three fingers down (I use my 3 middle) and just scroll with the outside 2 leaving your middle finger still. It feels a bit awkward at first but once I got used to it it was fine.

View 12 Replies View RelatedUsing a 7,1 MBP and shortly after updating it, I've been having trouble with my trackpad. Basically any function involving two or more fingers regardless of my settings is not working. Additionally tap to click is non-existent. Using it has become a chore and after searching all over I can't seem to find an answer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently traveled to Europe with a MacBook Pro, and plugged it into the outlet with a travel converter. My understanding is that the brick on the magsafe cable works as a transformer and it is safe to plug into a European outlet. I've never had a problem with other laptops.
Everything worked fine with the machine, except I could always feel an "electric" sensation through my hands when touching the aluminum case. This was especially apparent when running my fingers across the top -- it was as if I could feel an electric current running through the case.
This seemed harmless, and I ran the computer without fail during my time abroad. My question is out of curiosity -- is this sensation normal? What exactly is it?
Can anybody show me a list of the types and how tos on different swipes and motions with your fingers to cascade the windows apart or turn the window into 2?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have search this forum and the web for my answer with no luck. I have a 2007 15" Macbook Pro which has work flawlessly up until now. Yesterday, when I was done using my computer I put it in sleep mode as I usually do. When I went to use it today, I noticed I am no longer able to scroll down on anything using the 2 finger scroll on my trackpad as I usually do. I have since shut down and restarted my computer twice which did not fix the issue. Does anyone know why I can no longer scroll? I haven't downloaded any apps or anything recently that would affect this.

View 2 Replies View RelatedLike many others, I'm thinking of replacing my HDD with an SSD and replacing my optical drive with the original HDD. I plan on using the SSD as my boot volume and the HDD for storage. Part of the reason I am switching to an SSD is that I carry my laptop around quite a lot and don't feel confident that the HDD won't fail because of all the motion.
My question is: Can I leave the HDD powered off until I want to use it? Thus saving battery life and reducing the risk of HDD failure from being moved around too much. I would like to be able to mount the drive when I want to access the storage and unmount it when it is not in use. Is this possible?

A family member of mine has a Rev A MBA so I'm quite familiar with what it is capable of which is 95% of the things I might use want to use it for.

I have a late 2008 white MacBook, and will soon be expanding desktop space with a secondary monitor. However due to a small and cramped desk, the only place the monitor will sit is above the macbook on a shelf. When I've seen examples of external monitors for MacBook's, they have always been to the right or left of the notebook itself. Is it possible to configure so that the monitor will be recognised as above the MacBook?
