MacBook Pro :: Can't Access To Youtube And Google Maps With Safari
Jun 2, 2012
I've a MacBook Pro and I can't go to Youtube and Google Maps with Safari. I've also tried with Firefox but the problem is still not solved.Actually, Safari (or Firefox) keeps charging the page but is unable to get it. I always see a blank page. It only happens with these two websites. Other sites are working perfectly.I've tried so many things like installing the flash, erasing cookies or cache, installing updates but nothing helped. This is really annoying. Just to give you an example, if I try to localize my MacBook I just can't see where it is as the map is not appearing.
why Google Maps has worked only 1% of the time on this MacBook Pro ("MBP")Â - either before or after I have undertaken 'Empty Cache' and 'Reset Safari'?All I get is an empty Google maps screen with markers (if I had requested a search). This has been true ever since I had this MBP two years ago and IS UNACCEPTABLE Apple! So that means Google Maps has not worked properly the whole time I have had this MBPÂ I assume this is an attempt by Apple to dissuade us from using Google services because they are a major threat to Apple.Â

I am trying to calculate a route from germany to Spain on Google Maps in Safari Version 5.1.4, but I get stuck with a small window saying (loading) and nothing happens. Also - used to be that, once I enetered the departing or destination city in GM, there would be a list already generated, like in the regular "maps" window. Tried changing the DNS server, then turning it of and back on, nothing worked.Â
I have a white MacBook 2.2 running 10.5.6. I use Google Maps all the time and in the last two days it has stopped working. The initial page loads but then when I search for something at the top it says "Loading" then changes to "Still loading... Slow? Try Basic HTML." I know I could use another map site but I use a webpage that calculates the fastest roundtrip for multiple locations and it uses Google Maps and this is causing that site not to work. It is happening in both Safari and Firefox. I have the newest version of each. Javascript is enabled. I have done every update possible. I have changed my DNS back and forth between the ones from my ISP and some from OpenDNS. There is another macbook on our network identical to mine that is working fine as is a MacBook Pro. I have not been able to get anything done today at work because of this.
I am very new to macbook and have only owned my macbook pro for three months. Now when I try to load a google map from a link it doesn't show the map just a blank box with an A in the middle of it.
Can no longer start to type an address into the Search Maps field and have Google complete it if Ive entered it before, and if Search brings me to a location and I want directions when I enter the start address if I have entered it before Google again does not complete it.
Also, if I click on the down pointing arrow located between the Search text block and the Search Maps button I no longer am presented with a list of Saved addresses.
After the update to Leo and patches, the maps.google.de, ch, com etc will display no maps. And if they show the maps they dont work. I have tested it with the firefox but their is still the same problem. With my IBook with 10.4 it works fine. I think it is a problem with the java script settings for the whole system but I don't know where I can change these settings.
Over the past two or three weeks, my Safari has bogged down. It will load most Web pages just fine, but YouTube, Google and Facebook just won't launch. I managed to use it to download Firefox and it's working great. Safari is still a no-go.
since last apple software update my safari will not open youtube, yahoo or google, an error message comes up saying safari cannot connect to the server.Â
Safari has been crashing for me every time I open it. It's mostly on sites like YouTube, which leads me to believe that it's a flash problem. When I open the page it just freezes up and the pinwheel just keeps spinning and spinning. I noticed these problems on my MacBook after I upgraded to Snow Leopard, and now they are arising again on my recently purchased Mac Pro (also running SL). I'm running latest version of SL, Safari, and Flash.
Previously the solution was to install Safari plugins Inquisitor or Glims but Apple have removed the interfaces from Safari 4 that these plugins used - and there is still no built in Safari Preference to set the locale of the Google search. Effectively this renders the Safari Google Search field pretty well useless - at least for UK users. If you're searching for UK-based businesses or individuals, for example, the thousands of USA results that come up first are just not relevant - (that's an example of British Understatement. by the way
I get this ad every time I load the page. I figured it was a cookie problem so I searched my cookies for 'Google' and deleted all the results. I'm still getting it. It's not happening in Firefox, only Safari. It's been there since Friday or Saturday. Am I the only one?
For some odd reason, my Google Chrome browser will not show the videos from YouTube, but I can hear the sound in the background.
This problem happened during either after I downloaded all of my OSX updates (this is a new macbook), or after I installed SilverLight to watch some videos on Netflix.
In the past, neither of these had that effect on Google Chrome.
Safari shows videos just fine, so I'm not sure why Google Chrome is all of a sudden having this issue.
I cannot access google and a few other websites. Could this be a virus? The google search bar on safari doesnt work either. I am on admin account so parental control is out as well.
having a really strange problem- I cant google. Not nice. I can get to any other web page, and my iphone on the same wifi network can access it fine. I have tried pinging googles IP from terminal.app with no luck.
I recently bought a 13" MacBook Pro and I've been using Safari as my default browser. Before I got my Macbook and used a Windows 7 laptop, Google Chrome was my default browser. I still wanna use it as my default browser but not sure if it's as good for the Macbook as it is for Windows. I know both are fast browsers but which is the best one for the Macbook? Should I stick with Safari or should I switch to Google Chrome?
Whenever I go onto Safari or Google Chrome there are always advertisements. Also occasionally when I click on something a new tab appears or a 'pop up page'. Im almost certain I have a virus on my MacBook Pro. how to remove it and is it removable.
Every time I try to connect to any social media websites and a few others, I experience one of a few things. The first being an SSL error. This happens on Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, and even Google. The second is an SSL error again, BUT I can proceed anyway, which brings me to the third issue. I get onto the website but all the graphics on the website are gone and I get something looking like the image below. Time and date are correct.

I'm not really sure why, but for the past few days I have been unable to access Youtube through either Safari or Chrome on my computer...I have emptied history/cache, and tried to restart, but this does not seem to be working. Other video sites like Dailymotion still run, but take longer to load than they used to.
After installing Chrome 18 yesterday, videos in you-tube in Safari did not play. I removed the NP-PP-DIR-Shockwave plugin, and now at least some videos play.I do not have any extensions in Safari. I can watch youtube videos in Chrome which I had to install because the TV site that I was using demanded Adobe Flash and would not play in Safari. I am using Safari 5.1.7 on a Mac 10.6.8
They wont load or play, so I have to use Chrome or Firefox. Any ideas? I have noticed this the past few weeks, what gives? I checked all my software, everything is up to date..
so i just got bored with safari so i decided to try out google chrome. but i had a few questions.
is there a way to add custom buttons like in safari? i like how in safari i can put buttons like + Bookmark and place it anywhere i like. is there a way to do this in chrome?
and also any recommended extensions? right now i just have, add block, flash block, and speed dial (top sites) extensions.
I have no internet issues anywhere else, just cannot load facebook, gmail, or google search. This has been going on for a few weeks. NEVER had the problem before, and no other computers in the house have any issues at all, but this is our only apple.....
is there any way to remove this. i just want to click on a result on google for it just to open in the same tab. i have looked at the peferences and have tried a few options but i could not figure it out?
When I try opening google, yahoo, facebook and etc, it keeps coming back with "safari cannot open pages because the sever where this pages located is not responding.". But i can open it with Google Chrome that installed in the same macbook. Â
Also the it doesn't allow iphoto to login facebook but it works fine with flickr. Â
