View 5 RepliesMy White MacBook 4,1 (summer 2008) has recently started to have big problems when I watch on-line video from within a browser. What happens is:
-Launch browser (same behaviour with Firefox, Safari, Opera)
-Watch video
-Video behaviour gets jumpy
-Spinning pizza wheel arrives
-Browser crashes
I have tried a reinstalling Snow Leopard, disabling the browser add-ons, running the browsers in safe mode and I get the same pattern of results. I guess it is a hardware fault but I do not know how to identify the fault. System Profiler tells me my RAM status is "OK" and there are no obvious faults anywhere else in system profiler.
Late this morning on my iMac 24" with 10.6.2 it didn't matter whether I was using Safari or Foxfire the would both freeze and I get the maddening beach ball and have to force quit. Any ideas why this would suddenly start happening? I haven't done any thing special to the iMac as far as memory or anything. My laptop isn't doing it, just the iMac.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have tried 3 of them. Firefox, Flock and Safari. All seem to crash after 3 minutes or so but can last up to 10. It started happening when i was watching some videos on Youtube and then when i went to go and watch another it wouldnt load it up. And since then i have came across this problem. I tried phoning Apple but at 35 just to fix this seems a bit steep. does anyone have any ideas?
View 6 Replies View RelatedAll three of my browsers (Opera 10.10, Firefox 3.5.6, Safari 4.0.4) crash repeatedly when accessing www.nytimes.com (most common site). I am running OSX 10.5.8 on an iMAC G4 with 768MB RAM. I ran Onyx and repaired the permissions but to no avail. Other websites have failed but the nytimes site causes instantaneous failure.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a new 13" macbook pro. I updated to the new flash and now every time I go to a page that contains flash, my browser crashes. I've tried on safari, firefox and I'm currently on Chrome. I have no idea what to do. Everything else works fine it's just when I go on a site containing flash it crashes. I wanted to watch a stream from ustream and every time I went on the site it crashed. I've never been on that site, but I'm guessing they use flash. So, I downloaded the latest flash and now it's even worst. What do I do? The program actually freezes, but I can't do anything so I have to force quit it. Except Chrome I only need to exit the tab, I think.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi am seriously having problem with my browsers.every time i go to like for say the main page of youtube, or someones myspace page firefox and safari stop responding (try going to it on either). then i try opera and i can't even view it, but it doesn't crash, because i can't figure out how to get the latest flash player. im thinking flash might be doing something to both browsers. i mean its getting ridiculous im talking about close to 25 stop responding from both browsers today alone. its been like this for a couple days.
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, both Safari and FoxFire are crashing on my IMac. I am using the smaller EMac keyboard on that machine and last night, in an attempt to get the DVD drive open some of the F# buttons were pushed. This resulted in a hard boot from the power switch. Now both browsers blow up as soon as you try to do anything with them. I verified and repaired permission both from the HD and from the system disk and verified and repaired the disk as well but the problem still exists. I also unplugged and rebooted the ethernet router, but none of these steps have made any difference. What can I do now to fix teh situation?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis just started happening randomly as of an hour ago or so. I can't even open the YouTube webpage fully, open Hulu Desktop or watch a video on Hulu without my browsers instantly freezing and forcing me to Force Quit and restart them. Any idea on why this is happening? Obviously I can visit other websites fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSafari has been crashing for me every time I open it. It's mostly on sites like YouTube, which leads me to believe that it's a flash problem. When I open the page it just freezes up and the pinwheel just keeps spinning and spinning. I noticed these problems on my MacBook after I upgraded to Snow Leopard, and now they are arising again on my recently purchased Mac Pro (also running SL). I'm running latest version of SL, Safari, and Flash.
View 14 Replies View RelatedYesterday, a web site that I use frequently suggested that I upgrade my Flash Player and gave me a link to do so. Ever since I downloaded and installed the new version, any time the Flash starts to load, the browser crashes.
I downloaded the Uninstall for Flash, unintalled it, restarted from my Install Disc and repaired the permissions as suggested. Then I restarted, installed the new version of Flash Player (with all browsers off!) but as soon as I accessed a web site and needed to use Flash, the browser crashed (both Safari and Firefox). Is there a solution or am I just out of luck now?
I have some problems for my Imac. I don't know why when I open my browsers and some program keep crashing and freezing up.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3)
I think since I updated my mac OS X lion 10.7.2 to 10.7.3. I cannot open YouTube no matter the browser I use it's always the same, so I checked my flash player version and I have the latest one so I don't think the flash player is the problem, I don't know what to do.

Every time I visit Youtubes home page my CPU locks up or safari crashes. It has been crashing a lot only over the last 3 days. This youtube thing has been going on for 1 day so far. I am on Leopard and everything is up to date.
View 2 Replies View RelatedEver since running the latest Safari update on my imac every time I visit a page with shockwave it gives me an error and locks up safari.
View 1 Replies View RelatedYoutube crashing Safari on 2 different computers.
View 6 Replies View RelatedSuddenly today whenever I try to play a youtube video on Chrome or Safari (the only browsers I have installed) I get the message "The following plug-in has crashed: shockwave flash" in Chrome and "plug-in failed" on Safari.
At first I thought it was Chrome so I reinstalled Chrome, tried disabling the chrome native flash plugin in about:plugins (then the other one) but no joy, then I realised it was happening on Safari too.
So I downloaded the Flash uninstaller for mac and uninstalled > reinstalled and still no joy.
I'm running the latest version of both browsers, latest lion updates and flash version on a Macbook Pro (Dec '11)

Safari crashes pretty much all the time now. Usually when loading embedded youtube videos or going to a pimped myspace page. It crashes at least 5 times a day and is getting old?

View 2 Replies View RelatedRecently, in the middle of working with applications in iPhoto09 they simply crash. I get a message stating no harm was done but it's getting annoying as it's happening more often than not. I am new to mac, have had it now for maybe two weeks, but wouldnt expect apps to crash this often. Any thoughts?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've a MacBook Pro and I can't go to Youtube and Google Maps with Safari. I've also tried with Firefox but the problem is still not solved.Actually, Safari (or Firefox) keeps charging the page but is unable to get it. I always see a blank page. It only happens with these two websites. Other sites are working perfectly.I've tried so many things like installing the flash, erasing cookies or cache, installing updates but nothing helped. This is really annoying. Just to give you an example, if I try to localize my MacBook I just can't see where it is as the map is not appearing.

Just curious how many Browsers do you have downloaded, and list them In order of usage. I recently switched to Firefox 3.5 to be my default from Safari 4. So I'm only using two, but probably will try Opera and looking forward to Chrome when it comes out.

Worked beautifully for me. Do the test, switch your DNS server (if necessary), then do the test again to make sure.
I have the worst internet speeds on the planet(Stationed in Iraq) and I found that hiding images in FireFox allows me to browse faster. But every one in a while I wanna see the images and i can't seem to find a way to flip back and fourth quickly. Is there a browser or a hot key i can bind? I know Firefox has an "exceptions" website list but that does no good because it only lets me see the images on that one address, not for an entire domain.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhile searching the internet both firefox and chrome will start opening 20 to 30 tabs of the same page. It also opens a tab of any link you scroll your mouse over. Has anyone else came across this problem?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden every one of my browsers has problems browsing sites, particularly with web-apps. My primary browser has been chrome, with safari as secondary. The problem manifests in Chrome as pages that fail to load. Examples would be gmail and some torrent sites. Other times, I get onto the sites, but when I use a search function, it stops and fails. I've also tried safari (tries for a bit then crashes), firefox (refuses to start now) and Opera. Opera seems to work, somewhat at least.
I've already tried some things - thought it was a plugin problem since it affected all of the browsers so I basically deleted every one I could find and got fresh versions. No dice. In fact, when I throw out the latest Flash plugin, it seems to improve things, then I run into sites requiring flash, so I get it and things stop working. Tried repairing permissions on the hard drive - brings up a bunch of corrections all concerning flash. Tried deleting every browser and installing a fresh copy - no dice either.
Finally tried installing Snow Leopard again - not completely fresh, did preserve my profiles and files and just set up the OS. Since this seems also to affect stuff like taking a time-machine backup. Tried 3x to take a backup, and it stops after 2-3 gigs and becomes really really slow. Also, the whole OS seems to slow down - freezing at times - when I have the browsers going.
Does anyone know why my iWeb site renders differently in Safari and Firefox?
Firefox
Safari
Notice Firefox shows the outlines of the text boxes. Is there anyway to correct this? Or is this a problem with Firefox? I believe it renders correctly in Chrome as well.
Recently, YouTube freezes and causes my browser to shutdown. I've tried it with both Safari and Firefox. This is the only time they do this.
View 4 Replies View RelatedSo macrumors peeps, as the title reads, whenever i open a web browser and go to either espn or youtube or anything that flash associates itself with, the windows hangs or freezes and the beachball cursor comes up forcing me to force quit. I am currently using a Macbook 10.5.8 and Firefox 3.6.3 and Safari 4.0.5. Also i have restarted my macbook, updated it completely, tried reinstalling Adobe Flash Plug-in, done the disk utility repair disk (even though idk if i did it right) and i have been surfing the web for two days to find a solution.
