Why do some of my sent emails remain in the draft folder?
Info:MacBookPro, Mac OS X (10.7.3)
Running mail with 2 email accounts, one old one that I could still receive emails from but not send any; the other is the main email that I use. I deleted the old account then could not send any emails. I spoke to my ISP and have fixed the sending problem, but now I seem to have lost a heap of emails, possibly all the ones that had been sent to the old account but also a long one that my wife had just written that was in drafts as it was unable to send. Essentially we want to recover the emails we received, and the one that was in drafts.

When I send an email, why does it also show up in my "Drafts" mailbox? Is there a setting in my preferences that needs to be changed to prevent this from happeing?

I have 128 GB HDD and many emails syncing by Gmail IMAP. Thousands of emails are stored on my HDD and most of them I will never use in the future. Despite this I'd like to keep them in gmail server, just for case...Â
I was trying to reduce size of my Mail.app for very long time and nothing works correctly. Â
Ideal situation would be something like this:
E-mails older than 2 months will automatically delete from Mail.app but not from server. Or it doesn't have to be automatic, but I have to keep them on gmail.com. I'm not sure if it is possible with IMAP.Â
If I create an email that is saved as a draft while I'm still writing the email, when it finally sends Mail doesn't delete the email from the drafts folder.
I only use MobileMe in Mail, so I'm not sure if this is a problem with MobileMe or with Mail. It happens periodically on both my MacBook and iMac.
I currently have an issue with Mail 5.2 in which mail I compose and send is placed in the drafts folder and not sent. I have spent hours on the phone with my ISP and have been unable to resolve the issue. ISP has told me all settings are correct. I can receive e-mail on the account I just can't seem to get it to send. Checked my router (Time Capsule) and all ports are fine. I am also running my own mail server on Lion Server. The Lion server account is IMAP and sends/recieves e-mail no problem. My ISP account is POP and uses no authentication.

How can I move an email folder and its emails to a flash drive?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI would like to archive hundreds of my emails that currently exist in my apple mail email filing system by moving them into file folders in the finder. I can do this easily with a single email but it wont let me do it with multiple emails or a complete folder. Is there any way of do this easily?

Setting up mail on my new MBA... Is it possible to get Mail to sync (and download) the emails I have filed in my personal folders in Yahoo Mail ?
It is possible to use the IMAP INBOX folder for sent emails in Mail.app? I configured Thunderbird on my Linux Machine like that, it is very useful to have this conversational view! Is it somehow possible to do that on MAC too?

Emails with attachments sent in iCloud on OS X Lion Mail do not show up in Sent Folder. I've tried removing and putting back my iCloud account already on my Mac... many times. I've run repair permissions -- no luck.

All emails from my iCloud account (previously .mac and then .me) inbox older than one week just disappeared. They had been in my inbox for years. Why did this happen now and are they recoverable? I have Time Machine backups on my iMac. Will restoring my system or a particular folder recover the lost emails or were they only on the server?

My computer has a problem on the screen. After half an hour of use strange white glare that remain in the bottom begins to appear. When disconnecting the unit from one day to the next, but these glosses disappear within a half hour of use reappear. Why does it happen? Will it be a failure of manufacture? I am new to Mac-have recently migrated from PC to a dear little MacBook. This may be a server problem, but thought I would ask. Suddenly my inbox filled up with 1500 old emails (3-4 months' worth all marked "unread"). Have I inadvertently done something?

How do I sync my emails on my phone with the emails on my Macbook Pro, so that when I delete items off my inbox on my phone it will automatically recognize it on my Mac? Â Rather annoying having to see the emails on my Mac again after deleting them all.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI need a new laptop and I've decided to make the move from PC to Mac. I think the thing that's bothered me most about the dell laptop I've been using for the past 4 years is that it's quite heavy (I think somwhere around 8 pounds) and bulky.
I fell in love with the powerbook 12", but held off in part for financial reasons, and in part because I was hoping there would be a 12" macbook pro.
I hear great things about the macbook, but trying it out in the store, it seems to be just as big as my Dell and almost as heavy (well, at least quite a bit heavier than what I remember the 12" feeling like).
at $1199, apple is offering a refurbished powerbook which seems to offer as much if not more than the macbook
I'm a comic book writer that travels quite a lot, so here's what I'd like:
To be able to use MS Word and Final draft
To be able to use photoshop (really just to open photoshop files, not to do much to the artwork itself)
To have something very light to travel with, but still big enough to do a significant amount of work on without straining my eyes or feeling like the keyboard is cramped
and I guess possibly to play games, notably civ iv, although it seems neither the powerbook or the macbook is good for that (the powerbook at least has a dedicated videocard)
it's mostly the size thing that's causing the hangup...I think the macbook is just big enough to be a problem on planes, not fitting on the fold out tray.
With OSX 10.6.4 my 2.66 GHz iMac will not stay asleep. It will wake up even though the Wake for Network Access box is NOT checked in System Preferences. Why is this? This happens every night.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm the proud owner of a wonderful and powerful Mac Pro 4,1 (2009) which I have "modded" to support a 6-core Intel XEON processor. (Just using the "official" MacPro5,1 firmware). No problems at all with that.I installed the processor using the finest thermal paste, trying to spread it very evenly and not too thick or too thin, and then refitting the sink appropriately by tighting each single screw by just a slight turn and then the one across, and so on.Now I'm unsure if the thermal paste works perfectly or not. My temperatures, under very intense and heavy load with multiple applications (prima95, memtest, etc) it reached the low 70's by winding up the fans. But suddenly, a few minutes later, it the fans slowed down and the temp raised to mid 90s. so I turned it off...Now using an enconding application, like handbrake, I do get values of high 70's to low 80's but the fan remains (too) slow (in my opinion)Is this normal? Am I just too cautious? Why doesn't the fan rev up higher to remain in the low 70's like it did before?
