Had not cleaned up my inbox prior to switching. Now it is impossible. I delete a message, go to trash and delete it there. Next time I open my computer it is back as unread. Never ever had a problem getting rid of emails prior to switching to iCloud. What do I need to do to get a delete to stick?

I delete a large batch of emails from my inbox, empty the trash, and the deleted emails reappear in the inbox. This happens repeatedly. How do I get rid of these emails permanently?

View 1 Replies View RelatedSince this morning I'm unable to receive emails from my iCloud account using Apple Mail on my Macbook Pro. The message is 'Cannot Get Mail, the user name or password for iCloud is incorrect'.When I enter the correct password it will not take and continues to ask me for may password over and over. My user name or password are correct because they work for all other related iCloud services and iTunes, etc. I can't even log in to iCloud Mail via the web to submit an error report

I had an active @mac.com address and made a smooth transition to iCloud some months ago. My iCloud apple identity is my @mac.com address but since Sunday, I cannot send or receive emails with this address, only with my @me.com address. Same for iMac, iPhone and iPad.I have now spent two long phone calls with the apple help number. I then had a fast track on-line conversation with someone today for another hour to have it escalated to a senior advisor. They have tried to sort out the problem unsuccessfully - am sure they will have another go on Monday. In the meanwhile, is there anyone who has had the same problem before? I have tried changing my password on iCloud, deleting and reinstalling my iCloud on my iPhone but nothing has worked.

I am new to Mac-have recently migrated from PC to a dear little MacBook. This may be a server problem, but thought I would ask. Suddenly my inbox filled up with 1500 old emails (3-4 months' worth all marked "unread"). Have I inadvertently done something?

How do I sync my emails on my phone with the emails on my Macbook Pro, so that when I delete items off my inbox on my phone it will automatically recognize it on my Mac? Rather annoying having to see the emails on my Mac again after deleting them all.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been using Mail for years with no problem but all of the sudden it will no longer delete emails. I have 3 email accounts gmail, comcast, icloud
When I delete an email it disapears - BUT - then it magically reappears in Mail.
When I delete emails they also do not go into the trash folders.
I am having to log on individually to all three email accounts and delete messages from their interface. Total waste of my time.
I have looked at the settings in preferences - behaviors and I have checked "Move deleted messages to the trash mailbox" I did not check "Store deleted messages" I selected permanently erase deleted messages when "one week old".

They won't actually delete. Why? And this is with the pre-installed Mail app and using Gmail.

I have the weirdest problems. Every once and a while when I receive a new email, the text of the email is from a year prior. It is the weirdest thing. Anyone know what the deal is and how to fix this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI started my Mac mail application today (set to connect to my gmail accounts through IMAP), and all my mail that was in my inbox is GONE. I don't know if my gmail accounts were hacked or if their implementation of "Priority Inbox" just trashed all my messages older than 35 days. I've changed my password and disabled Priority Inbox. Does anyone have any ideas about how I can recover my e-mails?

Apple mail out of office rule is sending auto replies to all emails not just newly received emails--HELP! I set up the rule according to another apple support thread and instead of only sending the reply to new mail received, it was sent to all messages I believe that were in my INBOX, I only had a few but several people that hadn't sent me emails since I set up the rule, received the OUT OF OFFICE reply. Here is the procedure I followed for the out of office rule-[URL]I just used my email account which is a business account- not an ECU account but these rules according to the apple thread apply for all emails.

I am unable to access my e-mail since i "upgraded" to ICloud using my iMac - my passwrod is continually rejected. I also have a macbookpro with access to the same e-mail account which DOES accept my password. All this has happened since I upgraded to iCloud and frankly I am at a loss.

I have one problem again regarding my "MAIL"
I can send emails, without any problems...but I can't RECEIVE any emails, at all. All of a sudden.
On the left bottom corner, I can see, receiving 1 of 4, and after 1 min, the bar is gone, and I cannot get any emails at all.
When I login to the webmail (abc.com/webmail for instance), I can find there're 4 emails sitting there "unread"
May I know what's the problem? and how to fix it? because I want to be able to receive the mails from MAIL instead of logging in to webmail all the time.
I have an issue with my Apple Mail. I've configured my server's email on it. Now it works all fine when I setup a new account; I can easily send and receive emails.
However, after I quit the application, and reopen it, I can ONLY send emails! I don't receive any emails!
I am receiving my .me email on my ipad and iphone - both upgraded to ios 5.1, but suddenly stopped receiving .me email on my Macbook Pro (10.6.8). The processor on my laptop will not allow me to upgrade to Lion. I have been receiving .me email on my Macbook for the past month after moving to icloud.

Why is it that I can't delete emails in Mail? I'd delete an email on an account and it will go away but when I click on another account and click back to the old account, the "deleted" mail will reappear.

View 5 Replies View RelatedJust in the last day or so ive noticed that i'm unable to read certain emails. Headings and script appear as a series of A's. I've tried viewing them in different formats (view>message...) , text encoding and even rebuild. None of which has worked. I suspect i would need to re install the Mail app? Would this have anything to do with a recent installation of Microsoft Office?
