I decided to reset Safari because occasionally I get beachballs. I also deleted the caches on my MBP. Now when I open Safari, the window pops up but then I get a never ending beachball. Do I have to now uninstall Safari and reinstall it from the Apple website?

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter installing a fresh copy of Snow Leopard onto my Macbook Pro I reinstalled Ms Office 2008 from the CD only to find that every time I open it, it crashes straight away. The only one that works in entourage which runs absolutely fine! If found a few threads in the forums about using illegal copies and Microsoft blocking it. However I am using a fully paid for 3 user version of office.
I've tried deleting the files found in
~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 2008/Microsoft Office 2008 Settings.plist
/Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Office/OfficePID.plist
and used a different serial code. However the problem still persists. I've even tried installing from a different disc and it still doesn't work.
I bought latest Iphoto to get everything right but unfortunately it crashes all the time and I can´t even open any of my photos..

I recently re-installed Tiger on my macbook because I'd accidentally deleted system preferences and I needed it back. I still have all of my HD data, except that iTunes will bounce once in the dock, and then disappear. It doesn't open to my library like it usually would.

On my personal account, Safari, FireFox, Opera, and the like cannot access [URL], [URL](or any variation that leads to the same site), any other Google-based websites, my school's online gradebook, nor will it allow me to log into my Yahoo! account, though i can still search on yahoo. I can use the Google search bar at the top of my safari window just fine, but not [URL], as mentioned before.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I shut down this Mac, sometimes Safari quits cleanly, but mostly it doesn't. All Safari's windows close but the app itself doesn't. Checking the Safari menu the Quit command is greyed out whereas formerly it wasn't. At this point my workaround is to Force Quit Safari.
Lion 10.7.3 on a Mac Mini and Safari 5.1.3.

I have set my Safari Preferences originally to block cookies from advertisers and third parties, but it ignores that setting. Finally, I set it to block all cookies. It also ignores that setting. Is there any way to have Safari recognize it's own preference settings? By the way, I had to use Firefox to sign on here at the Apple Website today. Safari no longers seems to work with the Apple discussion site. Very odd.

I have ClickToFlash installed and recently I went to YouTube and attempted to view a video but all i got was a very ropey looking 'go upgrade' message instead of the video. If I click on it it takes me to Adobe site to update Flash. I updated but still no videos. I put YouTube on the Whitelist in clicktoflash but i still get the upgrade flash message. Does anyone else know what may be causing the problem? Lastest Flash, Click2Flash, Safari and SnowLeopard.
View 14 Replies View RelatedA few days ago, I noticed that after every computer restart, my default browser would reset from Firefox to Safari, and my default video player from VLC to Quicktime. I suspect the problem may have to do with my installation of Logitech Control Center around the time this all started. I did some reading and found that LCC doesn't always play well with other software, so I uninstalled it. As far as I can determine, there are no traces of it on my system anymore. However, the problem persists -- every time I change the default browser to Firefox (either in Safari or via Friefox checking whether it is the default), a system restart will set it back to Safari. I've updated Firefox to the latest version, but the default setting stills changes.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI run Safari 5.0.3 on a Windows 7. Recently, Safari has started to have long term memory loss. Every time Safari is closed and then opened again - i.e. when I start up my computer, when the application crashes, or when I reopen Safari - I have to log in again to all of my accounts. Prior to this week, Safari had never had a problem with keeping me logged in before. I have enough accounts and enough variations of username/password combos that this is thoroughly annoying. To specify, Safari can remember within a session - I'm free to open and close tabs as much as I want - but as soon as I close out of the application entirely, I must log in to everything again.Â
I have cookies enabled and I always click "remember me" when available, but Safari refuses to remember. I don't typically use AutoFill, but that didn't seem to matter before.

I put off doing the software update on Safari... I just HAD a feeling something would go wrong and I didn't have time to mess with it if it did.
So today I ran and update. And it messed up.
Now Safari will "open"... it looks like it is open and I have access to all the menus. But a Safari window will not open.
I am surprised that I haven't seen others with this problem. I have tried deleting the cache and deleting the preferences file. Neither seem to have made ANY difference.
I'm at a loss as to what to do. And I am feeling like I'm missing a body part. I need my Safari back!
When I open Safari 5.1.5, it automatically opens all the pages from my previous session. Can I turn off that feature , and how?

i was browsing the net today and a please restart your computer message popped up. i assumed it was because of my coolbook voltages being to low so i restarted it and bumped the settings up. but when i tried using safari again it would not open. a blank page would apprear and that multicolored wheel just keeps spinning. i force quit and try opening it again. same thing. any ideas what i can do before i uninstall my coolbook and take it to the apple store.
