OS X :: Resetting Safari 4 Doesn't Always Clear All Forum Logins?
Jun 18, 2009Like the login here or other forums. I am still signed in. It clears some, but not all. Why is that?

View 1 RepliesSurely I'm not the only die hard sports fan on here who can't live without constant updates from RealGm. But am I the only one that uses safari to view it? (or tries to?).
I searched but couldn't find any topics on this, but I can't for the life of me get safari to properly open forum topics from real gm. It will work 1 out of 7 times perfectly, the others not until I refresh and refresh (and even still it doesn't load all the page).
understand as it works perfectly on Chrome and FF.

much research and trying everything I could, I've given up. I know I'm not the only one, and want to bring awareness out there.Clear will tell you that their driver for the usb dongle will in fact work with 10.6, however, I haven't been able to get it to work with 10.6.1 or 10.6.2. Why didn't I try with 10.6? Because 10.6.1 was already out when they finally upgraded their drivers to support Snow Leopard. Sigh.At any rate, I've had four different Clear technical support supervisors swear to me their driver works with Snow Leopard, and 10.6.1 and 10.6.2, however it doesn't. I'm trying to get the word out so no one here is fooled into buying something that just doesn't work.

This only just started happening, where every time I go to a new website, circles & plus signs & refresh signs pile up starting on the left, while the url address gets scrunched over to the right. The only way I found to fix it is to restart Safari.

This is probably very simple, but how can I remove the history that resides in Safari's address bar?
I guess I could "reset Safari", but then I'd lose all my cookies, and I don't want to do that.
I already emptied the cache, cleared history, restarted Safari, even turned on Private Browsing. The darn address bar history is still there.
New to the site, could someone explain to me how to clear safari top sites?

I decided to reset Safari because occasionally I get beachballs. I also deleted the caches on my MBP. Now when I open Safari, the window pops up but then I get a never ending beachball. Do I have to now uninstall Safari and reinstall it from the Apple website?
View 1 Replies View RelatedA few days ago, I noticed that after every computer restart, my default browser would reset from Firefox to Safari, and my default video player from VLC to Quicktime. I suspect the problem may have to do with my installation of Logitech Control Center around the time this all started. I did some reading and found that LCC doesn't always play well with other software, so I uninstalled it. As far as I can determine, there are no traces of it on my system anymore. However, the problem persists -- every time I change the default browser to Firefox (either in Safari or via Friefox checking whether it is the default), a system restart will set it back to Safari. I've updated Firefox to the latest version, but the default setting stills changes.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a strange problem with my Macbook - all works well on my Macbook Pro..
When I try to set things in the Safari Preferences - like 'enable extensions' and so forth. When I re-start Safari, they've gone back to the original state.
I've tried:
- Resetting Safari
- Fixing permissions
- Restarting the machine
I've also looked at the Library folder, to see if things in the 'Safari' and 'Preferences' folder are changing and they are.
Even when I set up a new bookmark of some tabs, it works, and I can set it as a default start-up - but, when I restart Safari, it has lost the bookmarks folder.

I have a mac pro running 10.6, and i'm trying to set up sharing only acconts.
I followed the apple KB article, and created a network sharing only account with a password, and selected a folder to be shared... here's the problem, no one can log into that account!
For example, account tilted Media is listed as a sharing only account, and has read access to "Array 1", however if i try to AFP in, SSH, or SFTP in, nothing will accept that username and password! (however I can do all of those with the actual admin account)
I'm a complete newbie when it comes to Apple Mail, and I was wonderingwhether it's possible to have multiple logins for Mail on a single Mac. Here is my situation:
I have a small company with 5 employees who need to access their website e-mail using IMAP on a single iMac. We've been using the Horde web client which is horrendously slow and ugly. I would like for each employee to be able to use Mail to login to their e-mail account and then logout once done. This way employees won't be able to read each other's e-mails. I don't want to have different OS X root level login ID's because then my employees won't have access to all the files on the main admin ID.
i'm trying to setup isight to take pictures whenever there is an invalid login.
i've searched around and there seemed to be a pretty decent guide from a year ago but the authsight program link is dead.
i've looked into other programs like ialertu but i'm looking for a program that will take a picture(s) at invalid logins and email them to me. ialertu just attracts attention with the alarm noise and i've had trouble with receiving the picture in my email.
With any other browser automatic logins can be set for forums, homepage, etc. I have not been able to do this with Firefox...I have gone through every Preference page. The only setting I can find is under Security which has a checkbox for 'Remember passwords for site'. I have checked this but it don't seem to work.

Is there a way to create user logins or some other grouping for a set of applications to use (memory) resources optimally -- for example only mail and Safari and Word in one grouping and another for Safari and an audio recording application, etc.?

is there a program or way i can use the isight to take a pic, and see what password they are trying to type when they try and login?
is there a way of making the last few accounts that have logged in to be stored on the client computer temporarily, just incase the server ever went down? There is such a setting in Windows Server 2003, I'm just wondering if Apple has anything that does that.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was wondering if it was possible to tell Safari to look in multiple or different keychains for login credentials. I have x509 certificates that I want to put in a different keychain from the default "login" one, but when I surf to a webpage that requires that certificate, Safari doesn't seem to want to use it.

Is there any application to read a forum in the desktop? I mean, outside a browser.
I think that a desktop app could offer some advantages that online read doesn't offer.
For example, you could skip ads or you could save useful threads regarding the forum type.
This kind of app would very useful if it syncs with a iphone one
