I recently re-installed Tiger on my macbook because I'd accidentally deleted system preferences and I needed it back. I still have all of my HD data, except that iTunes will bounce once in the dock, and then disappear. It doesn't open to my library like it usually would.

My "other" computer (a DELL Latitude laptop) that my wife uses mostly had become infected with malware to the point where a fresh reinstall of Windows XP seemed the only way back to a regular operation. Now that that's done, I copied the backed-up iTunes files back into my wife's iTunes directory (C:Documents and Settings<username>My DocumentsMy MusiciTunes). So far, so good, the computer seems happy again, but when I try to play any of her music (purchased from the iTunes store), iTunes claims that the songs are not authorized for playback on our computer. Now, I understand that there is a limit to five computers that can be allowed to play back each song, but I'd be a little surprised if a re-installed OS counts as a new computer. Is this what I am seeing, or what is going on?
View 7 Replies View RelatedAfter installing a fresh copy of Snow Leopard onto my Macbook Pro I reinstalled Ms Office 2008 from the CD only to find that every time I open it, it crashes straight away. The only one that works in entourage which runs absolutely fine! If found a few threads in the forums about using illegal copies and Microsoft blocking it. However I am using a fully paid for 3 user version of office.
I've tried deleting the files found in
~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 2008/Microsoft Office 2008 Settings.plist
/Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Office/OfficePID.plist
and used a different serial code. However the problem still persists. I've even tried installing from a different disc and it still doesn't work.
So I went to start up iDVD today, and it won't even launch. Nothing. I click it, it just says "iDVD quit unexpectedly" every single time.

My library was removed but was brought back by importing the .xml document. Two problems: One: all my tv shows and music videos are in the movie section. I have over 800 tv shows and music vids, is there a way to edit video type in mass form? two: some of my album artwork is randomly missing. iTunes refuses to retrieve any.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSafari suddenly stopped working today and would only give me an error message saying that it could not be opened because of a problem, and that it needed to be reinstalled. I tried reinstalling OS X Lion, with the built in Lion recovery in the macbook air, but it is still not working. Based on reading other discussion I'm thinking that it might be malware, but the error message they are reporting is not similar to the one I am getting now. Stupidly I didn't check it properly, so I don't know what the error message was before I resinstalled OS, but now it reads:

I have an iBook G4 that's running Tiger 10.4.11 and the most recent version of Safari and just recently when I try to open up some web pages I get the error message "Safari can't open the page "http://whateverthewebaddressis" because it can't find the server". It will open some pages, some of the time and then a few minutes later if I try to open it again it will give me the error message. It is not a problem with my internet, as I also have a new iMac running leopard and Safari has never had a problem opening the same pages at the same time.

I've been having issues with Lion locking up ever since it was released, so I finally got around to reinstalling it. Now when I try to sync purchased TV shows to my iPad it tells my it can not sync because my computer is not authorized for the content. Oddly I am able to sync *some* content purchased from the iTunes store.
I have tried authorizing my computer as suggested in the error message to no avail. I also tried deauthorizing it and reauthorizing it but that also was of no help.

I have just installed SL on a system with Tiger on it. It installs fine, and looks to be OK. But when trying to open up any program like MAIL, SAFARI or even Software update it causes an error. Does anyone have any idea of how I could fix this problem. I am sure there is a way, I just don't know it.

im having issues when attempting to open/mount all DMG files on Tiger. I get "the disk image failed cause its not recognized". Can anyone shed some light on this one?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have ClickToFlash installed and recently I went to YouTube and attempted to view a video but all i got was a very ropey looking 'go upgrade' message instead of the video. If I click on it it takes me to Adobe site to update Flash. I updated but still no videos. I put YouTube on the Whitelist in clicktoflash but i still get the upgrade flash message. Does anyone else know what may be causing the problem? Lastest Flash, Click2Flash, Safari and SnowLeopard.

I have a bunch of itunes libraries and it's a pain to switch between them (open itunes while holding the option key and select the library). I don't think itunes lets you have more than one open at a time, but I didn't know if there was a third party plugin or something.
