Jun 21, 2012My iPhoto has always worked fine. Now I can't get it to open. Light under it in the dock is illuminated but the app won't open or close. Tried to restart computer but message indicated I had to close iPhoto first. I tried closing everything else and shutting power off, then turning back on. Illuminated iPhoto app on dock remains and I still can't open or close. Is this a common problem? I've never had this happen. I have over 5,000 photos

Sep 23, 2009After installing a fresh copy of Snow Leopard onto my Macbook Pro I reinstalled Ms Office 2008 from the CD only to find that every time I open it, it crashes straight away. The only one that works in entourage which runs absolutely fine! If found a few threads in the forums about using illegal copies and Microsoft blocking it. However I am using a fully paid for 3 user version of office.
I've tried deleting the files found in
~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/Office 2008/Microsoft Office 2008 Settings.plist
/Applications/Microsoft Office 2008/Office/OfficePID.plist
and used a different serial code. However the problem still persists. I've even tried installing from a different disc and it still doesn't work.

Nov 12, 2009I decided to reset Safari because occasionally I get beachballs. I also deleted the caches on my MBP. Now when I open Safari, the window pops up but then I get a never ending beachball. Do I have to now uninstall Safari and reinstall it from the Apple website?

Apr 7, 2012Since a couple of days, I'm unable to open photo applications such as iPhoto, Aperture or FCE. I'm getting the same king of error report as below. I've tried all kind of solutions from the web but still no solution. I wonder if someone would have the missing file (Library not loaded: /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreText.framework/Versions/A/CoreText) and could send it to me? The whole folder CoreText.framework is even missing. I have a MacBook Pro 15" mid 2010.

Apr 30, 2012Every time that I start up my iMac running OS 10.7, a window from a folder within the package of a program (Steam, if you must know), opens on the desktop. This happens whether or not "Reopen Windows" is selected at shut down from the previous session. No matter what I do, the folder keeps appearing when the computer starts up and logs me in. Now a huge deal, except that it drives me crazy having to close it every single time that I turn on the computer. why this is happening and how I can remedy it?

Downloaded Lion and installed, set this second HDD as the new boot drive and waited - one monitor came up but then nothing happened for so long I went away. Jun 28, 2012I suddenly cannot access the several thousand photos in my iPhoto Library. I believe my computer must have automatically downloaded and upgraded the version I previously had. Now I get an error message that reads: The photo library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto. Your photo library will not be readable by previous versions of iPhoto after the upgrade. The upgrade process for very large libraries may take an hour or more to complete. I still need my images able to be read by previous versions since I go back and forth editing between older desktops. Is there a way to access the photo library without okaying the upgrade? If I reinstall an older version of iPhoto, will I lose the existing library of photos?
