(the image duplicated, rotated 90 and then set both images' opacity to 50%)
Is there any way to get the original image out of that, without damaging it too much?
I could not use the type tool to create 'live' text on a layer. With the type tool selected I get the following error message when clicking to begin typing: "Could not complete your request because of a programme error." I quit Photoshop then attempted to launch the application by opening the file. The application opened but the file wouldn't, giving the same error message. I quite Photoshop again and relaunched the application from the Dock. The applicatiuion opens fine but displays the same error message (before I have attempted to open a file). With a file open I checked the type palette, where the dafault typeface is shown as Myriad Pro, but the default settings are: Type size: 1ptLinefeed (leading): 1ptKerning: 1Tracking 1Type height: 0% [code] Some odd settings there. The type tool bar (at the top of my display) has blank fields. Typing desired values into any of these fields doesn’t resolver the issue.I have tried restarting, creating a new file but to no avail.

Adobe Photoshop CS6 suddenly started crashing. I though the problem wuld be fixed by removing fonts but Font Book started crashing as well.
Below are the problem details:

I've been having a particularly peculiar problem lately with Photoshop CS3: Every time I try to use it, it immediately crashes. I'll open it, the splash screen will appear like normal, and everything appears to be OK. Then, when I go to do anything, (like opening an image, creating a new one), Photoshop crashes. This is not a sporadic problem, nor is it a random one. It happens every time! I have not had my precious Photoshop for a couple of weeks (since about Mid-February).
I'm using a MacBook with Snow Leopard 10.6.2. I'm not sure if this is the culprit, but I've heard some buzz that Security Update 2010-001 (which I have installed) is causing problems with CS3. So far I've ruled out Dropbox, Displaperture, FinderPop, issues within my account, and disk permissions; and I've reinstalled Photoshop outright (granted, it didn't wipe out my pref's or licenses). The exact same problem has happened to several other people I know, and the only thing in common is that we a) use Photoshop CS3, b) use Snow Leopard, and c) keep our systems up-to-date. Furthermore, I do some Cocoa development, and every time my application starts, I get errors in the debugger console about loading Adobe's Applescript extensions.
itunes 10.6 after upgrade when i select movies grid view it crashes every time works fine in all other view modes

I just bought Photoshop Elements 6.0 and installed with no problems. However, when I started it up, it immediately crashed. It did this several times. I started to look in preferences files, plists, etc. and could not find anything that might be the culprit.
I want to be able to print only a certain selection of text on a website. Let's say the second paragraph or the address of a place. I can highlight it, but don't know how to print just that selection. I can do this on a pc by selecting "selected" when the pc print options come up. Is there a similar way in mac or do I need to copy and paste to Pages and print from there?

if there is anyway to lock the wifi card of my macbook to only use (a) 5.2ghz ?Â
At my work place we have a lot of repeaters and some are on 5ghz and some on 2.4ghz, On my pc I can manage the driver settings to only run on 5ghz and the result is a much faster connection with better perfomance than my macbook air.Â

When I try to upload or import files, the selection window appears for a quick moment, then disappears before I am able to make selection. I first noticed it when I was trying to upload a few photos on facebook, then it did it with flickr, then I wasn't able to import a file from Adobe After effects and it sometimes does it when I try to attach a photo in an email. I don't know what is going on but I am getting scared that I will never upload or import again.

I have a weird problem with my MacBook Air. I was browsing the web when I think I hit a wrong keyboard combination. I was trying to select text cmd+a. But a small white window popped up with some text. After that safari started acting weird. Whenever I tried to open a new link it did not simply open the link like usual. But it downloaded it into my download folder. I also noticed that I could only type special symbols.
So I tried to reboot my MacBook Air. Usually it boots right to the login screen. But now it first shows a startup screen where I can select a boot device. So I select macintosh HD and it boots up like normal. But I can still only type weird symbols so I cant login. First I thought maybe my alt key is stuck but it works just fine and I did not do anything with it.

I bought a new MacBook Air 11" in April 2011 (as birthday gift to myself), but I wanted a larger screen, so I bought a new MacBook Air 13" in December. Now I notice that the 11" starts directly, much quicker than the 13", which needs up to half a minute to be ready. The marker does not move for 15 seconds. Why is it so, and what can I do to get the same quick start from sleep mode?Otherwise they are both fine.

View 3 Replies View RelatedNew to this website and I'm by all means not a computer genius so please bear with me and I've been having some issues that I'm curious about and am hoping that I can get some answers hear. I bought a white Macbook about 9 months ago (switched from a PC) and I make great use of the two finger scrolling feature. I tend to put one finger on the bottom of the trackpad (just above the button) and scroll with another. Sometimes while I'm scrolling through a website, the page "jumps" as if I did a quick motion or hit the space bar to move the page down and I then have to search back through the page I was on to where I was reading, etc. I'm curious if my trackpad has issues (everything else is fine and it only "jumps" occasionally) and needs repair or replacement. If not, is there any way to prevent this?

When I switch between applications such as Safari, iTunes and iPhoto, the screen doesn't show - only the grey tool bar at the top. I think have to click on the appropriate application in the dock for the screen to reveal itself.Â
What setting do I need to change to be able to see the screen immediately when I switch to the application?Â
btw, I generally use the cmd/Tab command to switch between applications.Â
I have a late 2009 Mac Mini with 8GB of OCZ 1333 RAM and an Intel X25-M 160GB SSD. Running 10.6 fully updated and installed from scratch.I have been getting out of the blue crashes while the system is most of the times idle. Can it be the RAM? It's reported fine as 8GB 1333 DDR under the system info. The Intel SSD runs latest firmware.
This is the log from the last crash which happened a little ago.

At first i thought this was simply a firefox issue, then i noticed it was accross all of my programs. I can select the regular menu, but unless I use the arrow keys, I cannot scroll down the menus into sub-menus as I had once done. For example, I used to be able to single click on say the image menu item in PS Cs3 then I would have a highlighted bar follow my mouse down (just like using arrow keys) this would open sub menus as it came across them, allowing me to access them. Now i am running into the issue that I have to hold down the left mouse button or I cannot select the sub-menus, unless using arrow key, which tends to be inconvienient. Has anyone come across this issue and if so how can I fix it? I am running permissions repairs right now and will execute the weekly, daily and monthly scripts as well and see if it helps, but if someone has insight please let me know.

Can't figure out how to print selection only. Seem only to be able to print full document.
I just started using Aperture and I am befuddled. I'm working in a library that was originally created by iPhoto but was exported by Aperture, in case that's relevant. What I'm seeing is that every time I try to do a "pick" in a stack, the selection gets reset. It doesn't matter whether I use the keyboard shortcut or the menu. The browser scrolls back to the beginning of my library and suddenly the first four images are selected. Always.Â
The same weird thing happens if I have a search filter applied. I hit clear on the search filter and suddenly the selection is reset.Â
