I have been using spotlight and google to find the answer but came up kind of empty.i have a 13" MPB and i want to take out a couple of pics with the isight camera, how do i do that? i know how to use it while using skype or yahoo but how do i get it to take standalone pics?
I bought a new MacBook Air 11" in April 2011 (as birthday gift to myself), but I wanted a larger screen, so I bought a new MacBook Air 13" in December. Now I notice that the 11" starts directly, much quicker than the 13", which needs up to half a minute to be ready. The marker does not move for 15 seconds. Why is it so, and what can I do to get the same quick start from sleep mode?Otherwise they are both fine.
This is probably a silly question but when i view my mail i used to get the message come up below but i've pressed something and I can't get it back. Now i have too double click on the message to view it on another window.

New to this website and I'm by all means not a computer genius so please bear with me and I've been having some issues that I'm curious about and am hoping that I can get some answers hear. I bought a white Macbook about 9 months ago (switched from a PC) and I make great use of the two finger scrolling feature. I tend to put one finger on the bottom of the trackpad (just above the button) and scroll with another. Sometimes while I'm scrolling through a website, the page "jumps" as if I did a quick motion or hit the space bar to move the page down and I then have to search back through the page I was on to where I was reading, etc. I'm curious if my trackpad has issues (everything else is fine and it only "jumps" occasionally) and needs repair or replacement. If not, is there any way to prevent this?
i made sure screen auto shutdown and auto dim was off on the new 13 i got last night.. brightness set to 4 blocks from right
fully charged.. unplugged at 11:30pm last night with battery showing 11hr 35mins.. screen on all night.. no sleep mode.. everything on wifi.. bt.. system completely idle as i went to bed..
If I look at any file with QuickLook, and then immediately try to select any file after closing the QuickLook preview window, there's a 2 second lag between click and actual file selection (with an outline around the icon or list name).Â

After updating to Mavericks my MacBook Pro drains the battery quicker and is also booting from empty battery in sleep mode very slowly. It also gives the feeling that it has slow down a little.
Problem description: MacBook Pro 2011 gen. has become slower after Maverick update. The battery also drains quicker. It takes much longer to boot, specially from empty battery in sleep mode.Â

He has a stock white 2.2GHz MacBook, the 2.2GHz SR, with 1GB RAM. Now, recently, he noticed that the green indicator light next to his iSight camera, is always on, even if he just started up his 'Book. If he tries to open Photo Booth, all he gets is not a picture on the Photo Booth window, but in fact, just plain black inside the window, with no error message. Does anyone know what is going on?
I want to buy an LED Cinema Display and I was wondering... if i have my MBP hookep up to the Display can I use both iSight cameras when doin UStream stuff or whatever???
The little green light of the iSight camera on my MacBook Pro 13" is always on. I can remove it by resetting the PRAM, but it always comes back. I have not found what app is triggering this so far. I am using Mac OS Lion 10.7.3.Â

i have OS X 10.7.4 installed.. and isight will not work with any application i try (skype, facetime, photobooth. i have tried all the different ways of people doing it online, but none of which have worked.
I've had my 13" MacBook Pro for 10 months and I'd always tried to use the iSight with Skype here in Australia but it never worked. I just put it down to bad integration as I'd read on forums that it's a common issue. I finally took the MBP into Doncaster (Melbourne, Australia) Apple Store after I'd tried everything else and they gladly replaced the whole screen within the hour. I just wanted to say that I'm suitably impressed with the service they offered. The genius ran tests and tried to get it working and accommodated my request for a quick turnaround. Is this a common issue with the iSight and is this a common turnaround time for a repair?
So I noticed that Steve kept saying that the new MacBook Air shipped with the FaceTime camera. I was wondering about this all day long, so I have to ask now.
On the Notebook comparison page of Apple.com, it even notes that they are 2 different features. What on earth is the difference?
Does the new FaceTime program only work on the Air? Is it a better quality camera? Maybe it's just that they wanted to drop the iSight name, and bring FaceTime to the computer audience?
Now that we have this new "FaceTime Camera," I'm curious to know how the resolution compares to the previous iSight camera. Is it still .3 megapixels or do we finally have a 1.3 megapixel camera like all the other Macs?? Can someone open PhotoBooth, take a picture of and do a "Get info" please?
Apple calls the camera built into the MBA a "FaceTime" camera instead of an iSight camera. What exactly does this mean?
From my understanding, the available APIs from Apple only allow the iSight and FaceTime cameras to record at the same resolution (VGA 640x480). However, the iSight camera is capable of 1280x1020...does this mean the FaceTime camera isn't?
it's the subject of my next YouTube video and demo.
My isight camera (as indicated by the green light) on the macbook turns on by itself during startup. Funnily enough, no applications are open that utilizes the camera (eg. skype, ichat, photobooth). The only way I can turn it off is by shutting the macbook off and turning it on again. Not even a restart will do, as the green light is still on after a restart.
i bought a new alum. macbook about 3 weeks ago and so far i love it, but suddenly my isight camera isn't recognized in anything, and it doesn't light up? What could be wrong?
I have a white macbook (the gen. before the unibody), everything works fine except that sometimes the isight camera turn on by itself. This sometimes happens immediately at the start up and other times when the system is already loaded. The result is the same, the isight camera doesn't work and when i try to use it i get simply a black screen. For to make it works again i need to shutdown the mac and sometimes even to remove the battery. I don't think it can be a Trojan or some virus since i switched to Snow few weeks ago doing a full installation from zero and this trouble still occur even with the new system?
Sometimes I use iMovie and my iSight camera for lengthy recordings (6+ minutes). But I need a little more flexibility with camera angles. Is there a camera available that works though Bluetooth, USB, wifi, etc that basically becomes a detached iSight? Or do I need to buy a hand held video camera?
I'm using a MacBook Pro (2007) and a Mac Pro. Currently I've got them connected, via ethernet, to enable me to swap files etc, and to connect to the Internet. What I would like to do is find a way to use my iSight Cam (on my MacBook Pro) through my Mac Pro.Is it possible? I know I can use it, in a way, via remote desktop, but that's not quite what I want.
