So I got a new White MacBook a few weeks ago, and it isn't sleeping properly. When Im using it and the battery gets low, I get the message that it is running on reserve, and It will go to sleep in a few minutes.I keep using it, and turns off, but the light stays on solid for about 10 seconds while it is copying the RAM to the HD for the "Deep Sleep." Then it just turns off instead of breathing. To wake it back up again I have to plug it in and press the power button. I was under the impression that it is supposed to enter normal sleep (I.E. the same as when you close the lid) when the battery gets low, and only enter "Deep Sleep" if it stays asleep too long and the battery dies completely.

I just turned on my 13" MBP and got this message. Apparently, this is supposed to come up when there is only like 5% charge left. My battery indicator at the top of the screen said there was 22% charge left. Also, according to IStat, my battery's health has already dropped down to 97% after only about 2 weeks and 5 cycles. Is this normal? I'm going to try recallibrating my battery by fully charging it and then letting it fully drain. Is there a good chance that this solves this problem?

I have a MacBook (2 GHz, 2GB RAM) OSX 10.6.2. The problem that I have with it is that I will not tell me when it is on reserve battery, so I shuts down with out me knowing. The computer has reported that the battery needs to be replaced soon, but I can't see how that would affect the battery notification. Also all of the energy preferences have been set back to default so there is nothing in the preferences that would be affecting this.

It's only been a month&half with my MBP 13". Coconut battery claims my MBP is 3 months old now (obviously manufactured 2 months prior to my purchase). Currently I have 8 cycles. 2 calibrations (one on first day, and one yesterday). It went from 98%-97%. Obviously this isn't a big jump, and I know i'm just being paranoid. I don't understand how people on the forum says after calibration your maximum battery capacity should go up, and it refreshes the system or something. It nearly dropped by a 100... What the hell? How do I make it go up? It's only a month old !! Shouldn't it be at 100% or atleast 99%? Some people on this forum claim that they have over 100%+ after MONTHS of usage...

After updating to Mavericks my MacBook Pro drains the battery quicker and is also booting from empty battery in sleep mode very slowly. It also gives the feeling that it has slow down a little.
Problem description: MacBook Pro 2011 gen. has become slower after Maverick update. The battery also drains quicker. It takes much longer to boot, specially from empty battery in sleep mode.Â

I purchased my MBA last night and let it charge over night. This morning my battery decreased to 97% within the first 3 minutes. It is now at 87% and it's been only 10 minutes. Is this normal? I haven't done any cycling yet.

I have an old MBP (2.16 GHZ); 2 Gigs of Ram and 120 Gig hard-drive. I have used my battery a handful of times since I got it, and now when I try to run off of battery power, it says it is fully charged, but after unplugging it, it dies about 3-5 minutes later. I remove the battery after the shut down happens, press to button on the bottom and all five green lights are lit indicating it is full. I really can't afford a new battery... And it doesn't seem like it is the battery anyway.

My MacBook Pro is just under a year old.I don't do a lot of strenuous stuff... just internet, iWork documents, Sims 3, etc.The battery has been fine up until now, but on two seperate occasions it has completely drained in a matter of minutes. On the first occasion I left the MacBook open on my desk.No applications were open, just the desktop. Battery was at 98% after a full night's charge.I come back an hour later to find the computer completely unresponsive until I plug in the charger chord. It had completely drained. On the second occasion I was at 52% battery.I loaded up The Sims 3 and went to take a shower, planning to play when I got out. When I get out of the shower TEN MINUTES later, the computer was dead... once again completely drained.I know the game is a total battery hog, but I can usually get about an hour of gameplay with 52% battery.

I just popped in a brand new 15-inch MBP (square) battery into my 2008 MBP with Lion 10.7.4. It has drained to 84% in about 15 minutes. Is it a defective battery or a problem with calibration?

I have a 1.33ghz 12inch Powerbook with 768mb of RAM, my battery lasts for about 20 minutes, I am on my 4th ac adapter (and it is already broken again, I so get why they made them magnetic in future laptops). I am running Tiger... everything works just fine except the embarrassing battery life and unpredictable charging (b/c of the semi-broken power adapter).

I guess this is one of the early MacBook Pros, model "MacBook Pro 1,1"Â It's two RAM slots originally could handle 1GB DDR2. Is that still the maximum, or are there 2GB chips for those slots available today?Â

I have a Macbook Pro Mid-2009 2.26GHz (10.7.4), and have 4GB RAM (2x2 cards), and at the time I changed it, not long after getting it, I am 99% sure it was only possible to get 4GB, but now Crucial is saying it is possible to get 8GB. I would have just got the max RAM possible, so was wondering if something has changed, (an update or something?) that has made it able to put more RAM in. Or, am I just mistaken completely and it was always 8 and I just missed it!Â

I just got a new AOC i2353 monitor hoping to pair it with my 13' macbook pro(2010 model) via display port to HDMI adapter and HDMI cable directly to the monitor. Howerver, i can't get it to display at maximum resolution it offer(max is 1080i).I can't run any of the drivers and installation softwares came with the it and my macbook pro won't detect the monitor. When i set it to 1080i mode, I see horizontal and vertical disturbances or waving. Also, picture become blurred. However, if i switch it to 1080p, picture become much shaper and no waving. Is there anyway to hard set the native resolution of the display since my macbook pro( Max OS x 10.6.8, 2.4 GHZ core 2 duo and Nvidia GeForce 320M) won't auto dectect my new montior.

I'm trying to figure out how to change the maximum log file setting for my Cisco VPN. I think on a Windows machine you are able to do this:Â
[Instructions for Windows: right-click "Computer" on your desktop, and select "Manage". Expand "Event Viewer" and then "Applications and Services Logs". Right-click on "Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client) and select "Properties. There will be a "Maximum log size" and a "When maximum event log size is reached" option.]Â
I can't seem to figure out how to do this on my Macbook Pro. I'm running 10.7.4Â
Have tried viewing in Console and while i can see the ppp file - there's no way to see maximum file size settings.

I have a base level MacBook Pro I bought new in 2013. It has 4GB of RAM. I was wondering if it would be possible uprade the RAM past the 8 GB limit. I was thinking of somewhere in the neighborhood of 12-16 GB. Will this do any damage? Should I run Time Machine before I attempt an upgrade?

I am thinking of getting the mba (or rather the mba 2 hopefully because I wouldn't want any nast core shutdowns and from what I ve been reading apple's awful customer support) and I d like to know one specification that I can't seem to find online. I read somewhere of the "by design" limit of the maximum angle to which the screen can go back wrt the mba's body. I was looking at it in a store and it is rather limited, and as I a used to holding my lappie in a way that requires a somewhat large opening it would great if I could find out exactly what the degrees are. (I usually like to sit on a sofa with legs arched in an upside down V shape and laptop on my lap which requires that the screen be moved further back to get the right constrast - I am sure a lot of people must find this way very comfy).
