OS X V10.7 Lion :: Quick Time Player Doesn't Seem To Work?
May 8, 2012Ever since I installed Lion I have had a problem opening attachments to emails which are videos. Most of them I can open with VLC and a few with WMV Player, but none with Quick Time. If they are on my iPad or iPhone I can open them with VLC and send them to others. If they are on my Macbook Air I cannot send them because the email goes without the attachment.

Dec 1, 2009Are there specific Blu-ray players that you need to get or is it just fine to buy a cheap Blu-ray player and hook it up to the iMac using bootcamp to watch Blu-ray movies? (Sorta run-on sentence there.lol) You certainly don't wanna miss not watching Blu-ray movies on a 27" iMac!

Oct 26, 2009I have Snow Leopard on my iMac, and I just downloaded the newest version of Flip4Mac (2.3.0.14) today.
My previous version of flip4mac allowed me to play and skip through wmv movies in Quick Look, but this new version won't allow me to do that anymore.
The wmv movies still play fine in QuickTime and VLC Players (I added these applications to the preference pane for flip4mac as suggested by others), but they won't play properly in Quick Look.
Is there a way to fix this, or is the newest flip4mac version not fully compatible with Snow Leopard yet?

Jan 9, 2010When returning to my login account (admin) after using "quick user account change" I am not able to use the Shift key to enter uppercase letters in my password. I must use Caps Lock to enter them (nothing happens if I type while holding the Shift key).
At all other times the shift work just fine.
This seems really strange.
Note: This is not a sticky key issue (brand new iMac).

Oct 7, 2010Quick Time used to work fine, but now when I click on Watch Trailer in Apple Trailers, the link opens ok, but when Quick Time opens, it gives an error that says "A necessary data reference could not be resolved". When I click on Ok, the window closes.
Any ideas what to do? I did recently upgrade my hdd and used Time Machine to restore my data/programs.

Mar 27, 2012I have had my MacBook Pro for less than a year and usually very happy with it. However, in the last week the speakers have been playing up. When I'm watching a show or movie, at unexplained times, the audio will fade out so it sounds really quiet and sort of far away. This has been happening on different players, such as VLC and Quicktime. It also happens with different files, and at random times. It seems that playing a song or two on iTunes fixes it. The laptop has definitely NOT been around any liquid or anything that could have damaged the speakers.
