Aug 26, 2009I have just switched from PC to Mac, and I am at a loss as to how to print just a high-lighted selection from a web page.
I found in the print menu a way to delete headers and footers, but what if I just want to print a section from the whole page? I'm used to being able to do this with my mac, and I'm sure Mac must do it, but I can't find it in the help index anywhere.

Jun 28, 2012I want to be able to print only a certain selection of text on a website. Let's say the second paragraph or the address of a place. I can highlight it, but don't know how to print just that selection. I can do this on a pc by selecting "selected" when the pc print options come up. Is there a similar way in mac or do I need to copy and paste to Pages and print from there?

Jun 19, 2014In the Print window the option to Print Selection is messing since the Mavericks update. I have only 1 option and that is to ring the whole page. What I am having to do now is copy and paste what I want to print into Text Edit then print.

Some printing options such as printing only the "selection" are not available. What can be done to get these options when printing with a newly released Epson printer?

OS X Mavericks :: Print Icon Tends To Stay On Dock After Print Job Is Done And Disorder Print Queue
Jun 28, 2014I have recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and am now having problem with my hp 4500 office jet printer. The print icon tends to stay on the dock after the print job is done and then mess up the print queue. Even worse if I forget to cancel it manually then when I put the computer on 'sleep' the printer starts up again and the whole job is rerun unless I get to cancel it quickly on the printer!
It does not always do this (the print icon disappearing as it should do), but for 90% of the time it does.
PowerPC :: How To Figure Out My G4?
Feb 14, 2007So I got a great deal on a G4 powermac 733 mhz dig audio a few years back and it has served me well, but i bought it with one known flaw: after you start up, eventually It locks up and you get the screen that says you need to restart your computer. After I restart, I have never had it freeze, so I simply restart everytime and it works great. I have done a clean install of osx but that didn't solve the problem. Wierd a? I'd love to get it fixed if i could.

Option 2: Mac OS X 10.5(x86_64)
How do I figure out which one I need for my computer? I've gone to "About This Mac" in the apple menu but there are no 86's or 64's listed and I don't know what these numbers are referring to in particular.

Jun 11, 2012I just got a new MacBook Pro and I can't figure out how to set up backups. There are no obvious buttons to configure backups. I clicked everything possible and all I can do is buy more storage. I tried making sure share settings weren't the problem.

Aug 31, 2010Is there an event log or something? I leave it on all the time, good airflow around it and it's on a ups. It didn't crash for the first year but now it's almost daily. I use this one for the house itunes server so it's extra frustrating. Any ideas on what to look for? I've made no mods at all, even the RAM was from apple (when I bought it).

Dec 11, 2010I have a Macbook that I was carrying in my backpack in one of those neoprene cases along with my water bottle (silly, I know...but it hasn't ever spilled prior to now!). I walked around for about 5-10 minutes at which point I noticed the bottom of my backpack was wet. I immediately opened it up and found that there was water on the bottom 2 inches of my case. I pulled my computer out and there was sort of a sheen of water on the front and back 2 inches on the side with all the ports. I then wiped it off. The screen came on when I opened it (it had not been off) but I turned it off and now I have it leaning so that if there is any water in the ports it will drain out.

Jul 23, 2009I seem to have an AppleScript that is hanging, and I can't figure out how to quit it. I tried the force quit, but it doesn't appear in the list of applications. It was activated when I was compressing a pdf using the print command yesterday. I let it go overnight, but the Applescript icon is still spinning in the uppertoolbar (near my battery indicator etc). If I move my mouse over it I just get a spinning beach ball.Thanks all!

Applications :: TOC Style And Figure List In Pages 08?
Jun 18, 2008I am writing my thesis in Pages 08. I need to have a TOC for all my headlines and I am using the TOC function for that. The problem is that I also want a figure list that updates automatically, TOC style. I can't find ant function for a figure list so I tried to give the figure text a different paragraph style then the regular headlines and then simply add a second TOC showing only that style. Unfortunately that did not work either since Pages only seem to allow one TOC per document.

All the apps seem to be running fine but i am getting a lot of aggro with my gmail account on mail and iphone (3.1.2)Before, I had a pop gmail account on mail (I have noticed it's imap as default now), then I bought my iphone and added the same account. Everything was fine: I could read and delete messages on iphone knowing that when I got back home those same mails would appear as new mail on my mac.
Now if i delete a message on my iphone I dont recieve it on my mac... can anybody tell me how can I configure it so it works like it did?

Jan 2, 2009At first i thought this was simply a firefox issue, then i noticed it was accross all of my programs. I can select the regular menu, but unless I use the arrow keys, I cannot scroll down the menus into sub-menus as I had once done. For example, I used to be able to single click on say the image menu item in PS Cs3 then I would have a highlighted bar follow my mouse down (just like using arrow keys) this would open sub menus as it came across them, allowing me to access them. Now i am running into the issue that I have to hold down the left mouse button or I cannot select the sub-menus, unless using arrow key, which tends to be inconvienient. Has anyone come across this issue and if so how can I fix it? I am running permissions repairs right now and will execute the weekly, daily and monthly scripts as well and see if it helps, but if someone has insight please let me know.

Jun 3, 2014I just started using Aperture and I am befuddled. I'm working in a library that was originally created by iPhoto but was exported by Aperture, in case that's relevant. What I'm seeing is that every time I try to do a "pick" in a stack, the selection gets reset. It doesn't matter whether I use the keyboard shortcut or the menu. The browser scrolls back to the beginning of my library and suddenly the first four images are selected. Always.
The same weird thing happens if I have a search filter applied. I hit clear on the search filter and suddenly the selection is reset.
