I recently upgraded and enabled iPhoto and started ICloud syncing for my photo stream. When I open Mail now, I have lost all my signatures and the filtering rules I had set up for incoming mail. How is this connected, and how can I get back my sigs and rules?

I have a Mac Book Air running the latest OS. I created a document in Pages 5. Printed it to PDF then opened it in Preview to apply the Grey Tone filter. I export it and choose the filter, but it doesn't apply. I can't apply any filters, at all.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have several email domains all managed as aliases by gmail (e.g, me@aaa.com and me@bbb.com). Mac Mail appears to allow me only one signature per account. So when I set up Mac mail with multiple email addresses in the address field (me@aaa.com,me@bbb.com) it separates them into "smart" mailboxes nicely, but those mailboxes cannot be associated with a signature as far as I can tell. it is a very common requirement, since many people use google to host multiple domains.

All the other mail products (Outlook, etc) allow easy creation of mail signatures as HTML's by a simple click of a link icon.I cannot find any mention of html signatures in mac mail except for those who know how to write code.If so, whatever happened to Apple being the user friendly platform as opposed to PC's?

When I am copying a signature I create in a mail into the Signatures database, It doesn't seem to save as it was built...sometimes it removes/adds carriage returns. Other times it won't copy the graphics with the text. Is there a way to make sure it stays as I create or edit it?

I would like to know if apple mail is supposed to sync both signatures and rules across devices.
I recently had to create 3 signatures on 3 separate devices and am now realizing that rules don't carry over from my iMac to my MBA or MBP.Â
if they're not supposed to sync (which makes absolutely no sense) hopefully apple will fix this in yosemite.Â
finally, i will say that, while being a huge apple fan (and would never switch to a pc), i've seen apple mail become one of those neglected softwares and have steadily gone on the decline in terms of features and consistency among devices that are supposed to communicate to one another.

I am trying to do a spoken word voice recording using garageband. I purchased a nice microphone, but I am getting a problem where it is picking up the sound of my nasal breathing. I am doing a meditation instruction recording so there is a fair amount of space where I'm not speaking, and it picks up this nasal breathing sound. I have been experimenting with the filters to filter this out but so far no success. Is there someone here familiar with garageband and has some suggestions?

That was when I had my Apple support they solved it by deleting and moving some files, but can't remember exactly. What happens is when Final Cut Pro 4.5 HD is loading audio filters on startup it just freezes and never opens up. Does anyone know how I can resolve this issue?

I just can't find any definitive information on how to allow these types of tags etc...previous versions seemed to talk of a whitelist....but I can find nothing on my server like this. Any attempt to add them seems to get stripped when I go and save the wiki page.Â

I am running Final Cut Pro 7 and I have a clip that already has RGB Balance filter and Key filter on it. I am adding Brightness Contrast or any of the other Gamma Correction type filters to the clip, It lets me adjust the filter but when I render it this filter is not included in the render. I have done some experimenting and it seems that the RGB balance is what is stopping this filter from being applied.
I have tried with all the possible filters that will let me adjust the levels on the image, I have tried taking the clip with the first two filters and nesting it then applying the new filter to the nested clip but nothing seems to work. This clip is too dark...

Is there an easy way to simple delete all filters from a selection of clips?Â
If I select multiple clips and then delete the filter, it only deletes it from the one single clip where the playhead is, the others are untouched.Â
If I make a cog standard clip, and then copy those attributes and paste it to the other clips as suggested it doesn't 'reset' those it merely dumps more filters on top or leaves the current ones untouched?Â
Do I really have to go in and select and delete one single filter off every single clip? There's a bunch of about 65 still frames I need to do this from and I can't bear the though of that.Â

I'm using Gmail with Mail.app on my Macbook and my iPhone. I want to filter emails for shopping, entertainment and utilities into folders without having them all in my main inbox or a Gmail "All Mails" folder. Does anyone have a good solution for this?
A little background:
I have my Gmail account set up with Mail.app currently. I have several folders set up on my Mac, and I have filters set up to send certain messages to certain folders. For instance, emails from [URL] go to an eBay folder.
I've tried to troubleshoot this before. I've backed everything up on Time Machine, did an Erase/Install. Purchased MacKeeper. I restarted computer pressing shift key, then restarted computer to clear out any accumulated junk files. I've been running Virus Barrier for more than a year, and all filters are up to date. But it's getting worse! It used to happen once a day...today it happened 3 times. I thought it might be related to Chrome, but this morning, all I had open was Mail...
This is what happens: In whatever application I'm in, usually Chrome, after some action, sometimes just loading page, the rainbow time spinning wheel appears. Spotify stops playing music (though there is not window warning that I've gone offline or anything like that); I wait, wheel keeps going, I clicked on other open applications, they appear fine, go back to application with spinning wheel. I open force quit; I force quit application, it appears to quit, but then everything becomes unresponsive.
Eventually I try to force quit all other applications, they appear to close, but don't really, then Finder becomes unresponsive, I try to Relaunch Finder, until I only can stare at empty desktop. The only thing that works is pressing button at back of computer to force it to shut down and restart. From past personal experience both at work and at home (am a designer, so always use Macs)...a computer that keeps crashing this way, eventually becomes damaged and has to be brought to store for repairs. This computer is only 2yrs old.

I've just moved from Snow Leopard to Mavericks, and all the mailbox contents (that is, those in boxes in "On My Mac") have vanished. I've tried going to user/Library/Mail/subfolder1 as others have suggested, but I don't have Mail in this Library folder. How do I fix this, if possible, via Time Machine backups? Or any other way, for that matter. Â

I get a message "The folder 'Documents' can't be opened because you don't have permission to see the contents." Permissions seem to be fine:Â

I personalize my menu bar and I removed the wifi icon by accident and I go into system Prefences/Netowk and I don't see the option to readd the wifi icon! Menu Bar

I've just upgraded from 10.6.8 to 10.9.3 and am very disappointed to see that everything in the sidebar is shown in shades of gray. I've used FolderBrander for many years to color code my finder folders and it was great that the folder colors also appeared in the sidebar in 10.6.8. I could group associated folders by color in the sidebar and that made for very rapid and accurate access deep into my folder architecture. I am mourning this lost functionality. how I could send this dissatisfaction along to Apple along with a request to restore colors to the sidebar?

I bought a domain through Google a few years ago, the host was Enom until last month when I decided to switch to UK2 and had to export my email before switching servers.
I ended up having a large .mbox file. After the switch I uploaded the file on mail and I found that all the emails saved in subfolders were missing (see image). It goes without saying those were the most important emails.Â
Is there a way to recover the emails in the subfolder?
