I am using the Mail (5.2) app in OS 10.7. I have my Inbox sorted by decending date, i.e. newest mail at the top. When I delete a message, Mail currently selects the message above, i.e. the one that had arrived after the deleted one chronologically. Since I work through my emails from newest to latest (usually), I will already have seen the newer mesage. What I want to see is the next message on the list, i.e. the next one, which arrive before the deleted one. My question there is: How can I advance to the previous message rather than the next one (chronologically) after deleting a message?

When I try to use iMessage on my MacBook, I cannot message anyone. I get the error message that "(phone number) is not registered with iMessage." I can iMessage the same person using my phone, but for some reason it will not work on my computer.Â
I have already tried the logout/re-login fix, and cleared my message folder. Phone and computer are signed into the same account & phone number.

i start up my macbook pro (only about two weeks old, bought from apple store) and the grey screen with the apple logo and a little moving cirle underneath comes on and stays on for VERY long and then a message comes up saying there has been a problem so please restart. it does not say what error. i have tried putting in the hardware diagnostic dvd but that obviousl wont run because it doesn't get past the apple logo before giving me this message. it was working five minute before and:
-there was no new drivers installed,
-i have never opened up the macbook
-no new software installed before it stopped working
-i charged it regularly and the battery was on 90+%
i have a year with a mackbook pro an it's work excelent. recently i leave my laptop doing a rip process, when i came back the screen was 'dirty' (a crazy carachteres forming down lines in the scrreen). I restart it then. but when it's staring, the apple sign apears 'dirty' again, and before that, a message in 4 idioms tell me that i must have restart my machine. I'been doing this several times... and the same happends again and again.

I use Macmail for my mac.com account and also to receive my business emails through another server. I have tried to use rules to respond with an "out of office" message but it has not gone well. The system responded to year old emails and flooded our email. I have read on some support sites about setting up through the server but I do not understand.

How do I get an error message when iphoto away? This has to do with pictures that are imported. My Macbook can't off because it involves the error melding. Â
View 1 Replies View RelatedMail is acting really stupid. It won't send messages, and is overall just acting weird. When I close mail, it gives me an error that says,"Some actions taken while the account Mail has undone actions on some messages so that you can redo the actions while online.Additional information: Operation could not be completed. View 4 Replies View RelatedSo I did read though the previous forum relating to this problem. None of the posters were having the exact issue I am, and I could not find a solution within.
my hardware: powerbook G4. 1.33GHz Power PC. (upgraded to) 2GB DDR SDRAM. (just upgraded to) 320GB WD HDD
my OS: Just installed 10.4.11
Here's the scenario (I hope someone can help):
Several months ago my poor baby took a dive off a counter onto the tile floor, while running. Never before this did I see the "Kernal Panic" restart screen.
Immediately following the fall, I get the error if the computer is bumped, moved or if I put weight on the keyboard (palms).
I feared it was a HDD issue so I hastily replaced the toshiba 60GB HD with a WD320 HD. And at the same time I upgraded from 10.3.9 to 10.4.11.
The computer seemed fine for a couple weeks, now I am getting the error again with increasing frequency. Mostly when I put pressure on the keyboard (palms).
What I tried: new HD, new OS, checked the RAM to see if it had come loose in the fall.
Could it be my video card? Is it more likely hardware or software?
On Tuesday I was using my computer for several hours when a "Panic" error message appeared. I could not move the mouse or get the computer to respond so I restarted. At this point my computer would not turn back on, so I removed the battery pack and replaced it, it still did not turn on. I hadn't been doing anything except sitting in my room talking on ichat and browsing on safari, so naturally I was really confused how such a cataclysmic event occur that would cause my computer to not even restart. At this point I got on my PC downstairs and made an appointment with my local Apple store.
When I got to the store they told me at the genius bar that it had been a kernel error, and asked me a few general questions about its typical performance and whether anything had been out of the ordinary recently, it had not. Next the "genius" I was working with asked if I had been having battery issues, and I did not think I had been until he asked if it was typical for my computer to be "calculating remaining battery". My computer had been giving me that message periodically since I bought it, but I thought that was typical. That is exactly what I told him and then he said he thought it could be my Logic Board, but as long as I had not spilled anything on it the AppleCare would cover any repairs...........................
I'm confused why it says "Your computer does not need this update"? It's a MBP4, 1 and has some startup noises and (always has had IIRC) problems with it making noises that don't seem right. I've checked Software Update and there is nothing there (I just ran it and updated a minute ago). I'm curious why it says this, is there a firmware update 1.7 that needs to be installed for the MBP?

i'm getting the message that my startup disk is almost full though i was not trying to delete files or clear disk space. i realize, however, that i need to free up space on my disk. i cannot find or figure out how to begin doing that.
View 4 Replies View Related2 days back I started getting this message "startup disc is full" I have aperture for my photos and deleted all the duplicates which should have freed up a lot of space. After deleting files when I go back and check it is still full.I have deleted files from Aperture trash and the trash on the toolbar also.Is this a virus? I personally dont think I have enough files to fill up 500GB, probably around 200 GB.
