MacBook Air :: Setting Up HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus WiFi Printer?
Apr 25, 2012
How do I set up an HP Officejet Pro 8500A Plus Wi-fi printer on my macbook air? I went to settings, then print and scan, and found my printer. Clicked on it to set it up and it's been configuring for over 20 minutes with no end in sight.
We just purchased a HP Officejet 6500 Wireless printer for our home and currently have one desktop, and 2 laptops running windows xp. These machines have no problems connecting to the wireless printer. My G4 PB running 10.4.11 on the other hand has issues. The software says it is compatible with my Mac setup. I run through the HP Starter CD and install all drivers, when the installation is complete it says everything went fine. I have the printer installed and can choose to print with it. But when I do, I get the following. I have deleted and reinstalled a couple of times with out any success. Sorry for the huge photo, but it was kind of necessary to see everything, and I wasn't sure how to make it so you can click on it and enlarge.
I purchased a new hp Officejet 4620 wireless printer about 10 days ago. I followed the directions with installing it and it worked great. I did not use it until yesterday. I was not able to print from the wireless printer. How do I correct this issue?
this may be sort of a noob question but I was hoping someone could help me out. I have an HP photosmart 8050 printer hooked up to my iMac via USB. The thing is my girlfriend uses my other 2 dell laptops mainly for school while I use my iMac for school. All of these computers are on the same network and are scattered around my house.
So being in school we need to print out a lot of documentation and wanted to just have the printer setup wirelessly. I have a modem w/ the wired/wireless router, and all my computers have internal wireless cards.
Am using macbookpro Mac OS x v10.7.3. I connect to wifi at home and at work and they have different proxy settings. do i have to manually change the settings in wifi advanced preferences every time i log on to a wifi network>
Info: MacBook Pro (13-inch Late 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.3)
I have a macbook air, I'm trying to use my airport extreme with a 1 tb hard drive plugged in over my network to store my iTunes etc i change the preferences but it always seems to forget it when the laptop is turned of..
Info: MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.3), using 3rd gen airport extreme
I have D-Link 824VUP and printer Xerox 6115 connected to dlink by usb, and macbook also, The question is "How to install printer for using in wifi network with my macbook?"
I have a printer set up on my mac, and my roommate wants to be able to share my printer from his PC. I find lots of information how to do the reverse of this (Sharing a printer that is plugged into a PC from a mac), ive tried everything I know how to do and cant get the PC to recognize the printer
I have found that my WiFi setting is not sticking. This is a problem when I'm trying to use my Apple TV which needs to be on the same network as my Mac. The WiFi keeps picking up a neighbors network. I change it back to mine, and then the next day it's on the neighbor's again.
My MacBook Pro OS 10.9.4 regularly "loses" my home printer, set up through my WIFI. Even though I can see it in the Printer Menu, it claims I am not connected. So, I delete said printer. When I go to add a new printer, it cannot find said printer and I cannot figure out how to manually tell it that it is sitting right here on my desk.
Info: MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3)
Can someone point me in the right direction to set up a network printer on my recently purchased AEBS? Love the unit so far except can't get me Epson printer to work yet.
I have a Mac Pro which I just upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard. I have an HP Multi-Function 2840 hooked up to the router via ethernet. This printer previously worked through Leopard.
Now, my understanding is that for SL, the drivers for this printer are in the operating system and can not be downloaded from HP.
How do I set this up as a network printer? I would like to be able to print from my other computers in the house as well.
Please Note: Snow Leopard only provides drivers for the printing function of this machine. I am going to have to revert to other means to use this device to scan.
We just upgraded from 10.4.11 and noticed that Printer Specific setting (like line screen, scaling, wrong reading, etc) are not getting passed to our image setter. The image setter is AGFA Avantra running on a Tiapan RIP running on an NT4 server. The PPDs are generated using the RIP's EDF software. The most up to date PPD code is Laserwriter 8.7.
Any WiFi printers out there for under 200 that are compatible with a mac? I'm getting my macbook on monday and i'm trying to get all my accesories ready when I purchase my macbook!
Used to have no problem connecting my MacBook Air to my HP OfficeJet 7410 via wifi and printing things. Now, the printer utility seems to connect to the printer with the print job, but then it only downloads 50% of the job and freezes? It even starts printing that 50% of the job before the freeze. And then nothing.

I have a Apple mac and currently my Epson deskjet printer is connected to it via usb cable. My wife and I both have Windows XP laptops and I would like to know if it is possible to send word documents to the printer over the home wifi network. This would save having to take the usb connector out of the imac and plug it into the laptop, also the imac drives the Epson so much better than the HP laptop my wife uses. Then just to be brave is it possible to print documents directly from my iphone for super braveness, my wife's blackberry.
I just bought a HP OfficeJet 7500a (which does support duplex printing) and I am unable to do two-sided printing as the dropdown menu (located in layout in the print screen) is greyed-out. Do I require a driver or anything like that?Â
By the way I am running Mountain Lion Developer Preview if that matters.Â

I recently bought a Hp OfficeJet pro 8600 plus printer and have set it up fine on my desktop pc. When I went to install it on my MacBook it wont let me set it wirelessly because it states that The wireless network settings were successfully downloaded to your device. However, your Mac was unable to locate the device on the network.
Please make sure that: - Your Mac is connected to a wired or wireless network that has access to your device. - Your device is connected to the wireless network "home".
Click "Retry" to attempt to connect again using the current settings. Click "Go Back" to enter different settings. The weird part is that everything is set up fine as far as the printer it seems that the mac doesn't want to cooperate. I am running OS X Lion with the newest downloads and updated.

I got a HP Photosmart C4380 all-in-one wi-fi printer and i want to set it up on my wireless network. so i plugged it in to my MBP via USB and ran the HP setup assistant that came with the printer.
at the first step it recognized my printer as being connected via USB the next step when its supposed to detect your wireless network i get this message that says your printer is not connected to the computer, connect via USB to save settings.
