Sep 1, 2014Used to have no problem connecting my MacBook Air to my HP OfficeJet 7410 via wifi and printing things. Now, the printer utility seems to connect to the printer with the print job, but then it only downloads 50% of the job and freezes? It even starts printing that 50% of the job before the freeze. And then nothing.

May 6, 2012I just bought a HP OfficeJet 7500a (which does support duplex printing) and I am unable to do two-sided printing as the dropdown menu (located in layout in the print screen) is greyed-out. Do I require a driver or anything like that?Â
By the way I am running Mountain Lion Developer Preview if that matters.Â

MacBook Pro :: Unable To Locate Device On Network HP OfficeJet 8600
May 21, 2012I recently bought a Hp OfficeJet pro 8600 plus printer and have set it up fine on my desktop pc. When I went to install it on my MacBook it wont let me set it wirelessly because it states that The wireless network settings were successfully downloaded to your device. However, your Mac was unable to locate the device on the network.
Please make sure that:
- Your Mac is connected to a wired or wireless network that has access to your device.
- Your device is connected to the wireless network "home".
Click "Retry" to attempt to connect again using the current settings. Click "Go Back" to enter different settings. The weird part is that everything is set up fine as far as the printer it seems that the mac doesn't want to cooperate. I am running OS X Lion with the newest downloads and updated.

Dec 3, 2014I have a MacBook Pro running on OS X 10.10.1 Yosemite. I installed a HP Officejet 4620 connected through WLAN, the printer works but cannot make the scanner work. I installed the printer connecting via WLAN. The system automatically downloaded the right driver set.
Later I installed the HP device driver downloaded from HP. After rebooting network, printer and PC the scanner worked.The fun was short lived. Three days later I could not scan. I get following error message:Scanner reported an error..HP Officejet 4620 series is currently unavailable. Please check if it is turned on and connected, or try again later.
Of course the printer is turned on and it is connected to the WLAN. I rebooted network, printer and PC. Still does not work.According the the Apple support page the printer is supported on OS X 10.10. On the HP support pages it is not listed.which printer/scanner product works reliable with OS X even after a release update.

Jan 23, 2010I downloaded the latest drivers from the HP site. I can direct the printer to print a "test" page, and it prints out an Excel Spreadsheet without problems. However, it won't print a GMail email from Safari and it won't print an email from OSX Mail. It seems like it is going through the motions for over a minute then releases a blank page. And get this, the same GMail page that wouldn't print from my Gmail on Safari does print fast and easy from Firefox.

Jan 3, 2010We just purchased a HP Officejet 6500 Wireless printer for our home and currently have one desktop, and 2 laptops running windows xp. These machines have no problems connecting to the wireless printer. My G4 PB running 10.4.11 on the other hand has issues. The software says it is compatible with my Mac setup. I run through the HP Starter CD and install all drivers, when the installation is complete it says everything went fine. I have the printer installed and can choose to print with it. But when I do, I get the following. I have deleted and reinstalled a couple of times with out any success. Sorry for the huge photo, but it was kind of necessary to see everything, and I wasn't sure how to make it so you can click on it and enlarge.

When all set up, the volume comes through the TV very very low and the only picture I get is the purple light in outerspace MacBook picture, not the movie playing on my macbook.

Jun 28, 2010I'm trying to connect my MacBook Pro (just purchased this year) to my television, which is a relatively new (2-3 years old give or take) Magnavox 20" flat panel LCD TV (For reference: [URL] It can display HDTV and EDTV, and has the input for a VGA cable and standard AV & S-Video inputs, as well as a PC input with what looks like input for male DVI. All in all it looks capable of handling the MBP's input. I've tried connecting the mini DVI-VGA adapter to the VGA cable, and the macbook's screen flickers and reverts to normal (with the additional display detected and seeming to function on the mac side).
However, no image appears on my TV screen, except when I'm playing around with the resolution (at which point, an image almost comes on, briefly flickers on with a slightly off-color, then reverts back to a blank screen). At first I thought this was a resolution problem, but even at the macbook's lowest resolution, nothing came onto the screen except that flicker. Would I need a converter or something to get the image onto the screen? I was doing some research and, while my TV doesn't seem that old, I'm wondering whether it might be digital vs. analog signal or something?
MacBook :: Its Not Connecting To TV
Apr 4, 2012I've got a Minidisplay port to DVI adaptor for my macbook to connect to my LG 27" 1080p tv. I've hooked up the cabling as simple as it comes port->adaptor->DVI cable->TV but although my macbook recognises the TV (and the model number) my tv just sits there saying "check signal cable". The TV clearly recognises that something is plugged in (evident due to the DVI input on my TV not being greyed out). Although I can't 100% confirm that the adaptor is fully functional, I'm pretty sure as a signal is clearly passing between both devices.

Feb 19, 2009I'm a lifelong PC user who is making the switch from a PC desktop to a macbook pro. Currently I have A set of Klipsch promedia 5.1 surround sound speakers. I am also anticipating inheriting a samsung television from a friend. I would like to be able to use my current speakers and and my new t.v. with my macbook, but I've got a couple of questions here.
1) It looks like the television has a vga input on it. So I'm assuming my best bet is to get the Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter. what can I expect in terms of quality here? The television is 1080p. Will i be able to get 1080p through a vga adapter? Is there a better option out there?
2) Assuming the television did have a DVI port on it, what is the difference between the Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter and the Mini DisplayPort to Dual-Link DVI Adapter?
3) I would very much like to have both the television and the macbook hooked up to the klipsch speakers. I'm assuming my best option for connecting the macbook is something like the Griffin Firewave. (Sadly it looks as if this has been discontinued.) The Television's only audio out is optical. Does anyone know of an external sound card that would allow me to connect both the macbook and the television? Or if someone has a better solution as to how to accomplish that; I'm all ears.
