I am on mac laptop OSX 10.9.2 using Mail 7.2. I tried to open a "Mailer Daemon" message and it is frozen, not even open but a grey colored blank "message". I've tried: closing the message unsuccessfullyForce Quitting the application (reads "Mail (not Responding)") when I do. (4 times)Turning off the entire computer, letting it rest and rebooting. (3 times)Opening up my server on the internet and deleting the offensive message "mailer daemon"Turning off the computer again.Â
So...as soon as I open mail, the grey "message" is open. I can click on the Mail Viewer window and have that come forward, but all is frozen.Just did it again and it hasn't changed. Had to force quit again. Never before in 8 years of using the Mail application (different computers). The rainbow wheel of death spins and spins.Â
Everytime I time to open a PDF file in Preview I get the msg, the file couldn't be opened because you don't have permission to view it. I have checked the GET INFO and all permissions are correct.
I have 2 mail accounts setup in Mail. They are on separate domains I host on my server. One account works great, the other gives this error message every time I try to send. "Sending the message content to the server failed." It offeres me to use a different outgoing mail server.I am on latest Lion 10.7.3. mail version os 5.2 (latest). I connect through Airport Extreme.I Googled the problem and searched everywhere. I also tried deleting and setting up the account. I checked all my settings (multiple times). There is nothing to fix in settings. The Connection doctor does not see any problems.
Here is the really frustrating part: Messages actually get sent. The recipeint always receives them. If I try again with the same server, I get the same error message and again message gets sent. But to Mail it is still unsent and sits in Outbox prompting to send.I also tried the MTU trick. No luck. I should also say that I have seen this problem before on other accounts. I've also seen it come and go. It happened on Snow Leoprad and Leopard too.
I have a mbpr with 10.9.4 Mavericks. It's been only a week since I got it and Safari just keep showing up this error in most of the sites I try to visit. Seriously it is so annoying. I try not to use other browser since Safari uses very little power from the battery.
Info: MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), OS X Mavericks (10.9.4)
I downloaded the security update today, now safari gives me a failed to open everytime I try to log into my company's website or my remote access email......both are .org websites. Have gone to the network and disabled the firewall and no proxies are being used.
Often I just put my Macbook Pro with Lion OS to sleep manually, instead of shutting down. Since the upgrade to OS Lion, when I return to the computer I often am greeted with a message that I could not be logged out because Firefox failed to quit. Is sleep a logout? I don't intend to logout...though I do require a password to regain access after the computer enters the sleep state. This is a consistent issue with Lion, which never occurred with the earlier OS.
Info: MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Mac and Office updates all current
I got an error message while burning a CD in iTunes - "the attempt to burn a disc failed. The burn failed because of a medium write error."What does this mean and how do I fix it?
I'm getting this damn message every time I try to open an app. Every time I open Firefox for instance, I'll get this message...no matter how many times I click on "Open". Can someone help? FYI, I recently bought a 27" iMac and I did download all my apps and installed them instead of migrating using Time Machine.
When I try to open my email I get an error message that says you are probably not logged on to the portal. I have signed on to my email account. I have restarted my computer, I have made sure that I am not on face time, I have also logged off and logged back onto my email account.
I am having a frustrating time of late with .rar files downloaded from the web. The Unarchiver has served me well for the most part. But of late it has failed to open a number of .rar files correctly. As a result I have tried both MacPAR Deluxe and UnRarX. On occasion MacPAR has done the trick, but very infrequently. The files in question have all opened correctly on a Windows machine using 7-zip so the files themselves are not the problem.
My application link get Failed to open error. It s mainly of RSS feed. Error: Safari cant open the page [url] The error is: unknown error (CFURLErrorDomain:-1) Please choose Safari > Report Bugs to Apple, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.the above link is working in other browsers like (IE, FF and chrome.).
I've had my macbook pro for about a month. Its everything you read about when you make the switch. Great build, screen, keyboard, stable, ease of use. Everything...except internet surfing. It's a big disappointment. I spend a lot of time waiting for pages to load..or getting the safari can't open message. (When I refresh this page I often will get the page to pop right up.)
I loaded a plug in recommended in the site "my first mac"...but no difference. I loaded firefox but get the same results. My 3 year old sempron dell inspiron and my wifes new Dell studio 17 both kick the macbook pro's butt in surfing so i don't believe its my home network. I have gone to the genius bar and they did some minor stuff but I have the same issues still.
I removed MailPilot that I was trying and somewhere the Folder MailPilot still exists. I tried to trash it, remove it, rename it and nothing can be done with it...it says that folder does not exist.Â
Is there any way to clean that out of my IMAP directory. It doesn't show up on iClould or Mail but does show up on Postbox. Yet the error is clear that my IMAP account still thinks it is there.Â
Using Mavericks. The Apple Mail program does NOT show this directory but is still must exist somewhere.Â
I never "burned" a disc before and want to copy wedding photos that I have in iphoto that I downloaded from a CD from the photographer. I have some CD-R discs I bought a few years ago. I got this "burn failed" message, and I do not know, do I need new discs? My imac was purchased in December 2010, and these discs are older.Â
I have the 2 wire AT&T router, connected to my time capsule via ethernet. The internet is super slow. I have 12mbps on my account and speedtest.net says I am getting 10mbps. But the internet is loading slower than that. if I try to open two pages at a time sometimes it says failed to open. and I can never just type google, I have to type google.com. I've cleaned all my mac's systems and added 68.94.156.1 and .157. to all the mac's airport DNS settings. What am I doing wrong? I can't call bc they don't seem to know anything about time capsules, airports, or mac's.
I'm using a 2GHz PowerPC G5, OS X 10.4.11, with 1 GB on one dimm. I cannot open ANY .dmg files. I have tried clicking the image, and also on a clean download used "open with" each time I received the following message The following disk image failed to mount Reason: Device not configured
I have followed the instructions in this thread:- Disk image failed to mount: Device not configured. Firstly Run /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility. Click on "Macintosh HD" in the left column and then press the "Repair Disk Permissions" button. Delete the file called /System/Library/Extension.kextcache Delete the folder called /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.kernalcaches/ Restart
That made no difference. I then tried bobw's advice here Panther - Disk Image "mounting Failed" Panther - Disk Image "mounting Failed". That made no difference. I have since gone on to justanswer.com and the advice I received was to do an archive and install and then a full combo update.
I just purchased a used Epson 3170 Perfection Photo Scanner. When I try to use Image Capture, the software recognizes the scanner as a device. But I get the message "Failed to open a session on the device."
Note: From the Epson site, I downloaded an Epson ICA Driver v5.2.6 for Image Capture because "This driver corrects possible issues when using Apple's Image Capture utility with an Epson scanner."
I'm getting a "filter failed. 1 page " error while trying to print using a NEW Mitsubishi CP9550 printer. Since its a photo printer and claims to be Mac compatible I expected no issues. I have tried loading the driver (from Mitsubishi) a couple of times without success.
Info: MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), OS X Mavericks (10.9.4), Printer: Mitsubishi CP 9550 CW
I keep getting a Partition error. File system formatter failed. I'm trying to wipe clean my MacBook Pro mavericks hardrive. What do I do? How do I fix this?
I use Google 2-step verification. With my upgrade to Yosemite, all my text messages that previously only went to my iPhone now also appear on my Macbook Pro. In general that's fine, but it's a big security problem.  If anyone gets my computer then they immediately have access to all my 2-step codes because the codes will be sent to my Macbook in addition to my phone. Previously I only had to worry about one device (my phone) and but now there is a big problem with my computer falling into the wrong hands.Â
Is this an attempt by Apple to stop people from using Google 2-step verification?Â
Time Machine reported it failed backup due to the shortage of disk space. But I see the total space of partition is 192GB,the whole backup snapshot estimated is 177.56G.Â
The massage said that " failed backup, 52.85 GB is needed for backup but it's only 25.17 GB available." Â
I know it's 166.35GB of ancient snapshot still exist, but why not OSX to delete it automatically and release more space for new snapshot?Â
By the way, I can't delete those ancient snapshot in Finder manually, perhaps permission denied.
