I'm getting a "filter failed. 1 page " error while trying to print using a NEW Mitsubishi CP9550 printer. Since its a photo printer and claims to be Mac compatible I expected no issues. I have tried loading the driver (from Mitsubishi) a couple of times without success.

I am trying to connect to a windows network printer through my MacBook Air. I can connect to the printer via the windows network and can send documents to print. The document goes through to print but at the last second it says there is an error. When looking on the network windows computer, in which the printer is installed, I can see the document has gone through to print using the printer dialogue box for microsoft, but it details there is an error and the document doesn't print.
It seems that they are connected but there is still an error.Both Windows and Mac computers are up to date currently and the printer is a HP Deskjet F4180.
I have a MacBook Pro (running OS X 10.9.5). My EPSON (WF-2540) printer was set up and working fine. I went on a trip, tried to install Kodak printer driver (no success) and now my printer will not work. It shows in my list but I try to print a document I don't have any printers to select. I have tried:
- removing the software and reinstalling (from website and from CD)
- connecting the printer to my computer
- resetting the printer (under System Preferences, right click, reset printing system)

I recently received an iMac as a "gift"... turns out it has some problems. I am unable to reinstall the default OS (Mountain Lion) because I have yet to be able to partition the HDD correctly. The error I keep getting is: Partition failed with the error: Wiping volume data to prevent future accidental probing failed.At this point, the default Macintosh HD isn't showing, so it must of been erased/deleted.

I have an HP Photosmart printer connected, via USB, to a PowerPC Mac. The Mac has Bonjour on it and it acts as a print server to a Mac laptop and a Dell laptop. Until recently, everything was working fine. Now, however, when I try to print from the Dell laptop, I get a pstopdffilter error message. I can still print from the Mac laptop. Any thoughts?

I repaired permissions, deleted com.apple.finder.plist (twice) and finally reinstalled Mavericks over the first one. Still painfully slow and lots of beachballs.

More precisely, I am expecting a number of mails that are identical, except they arrive from different mailing lists.
However, I can only see one of them.
So, I was wondering whether Apple mail has some "intelligence" built in that would filter out the others.

It is up and running and surfing the net using the airport connected to our home network. I have searched the forums and tried all the results I could find but am still unable to print from the iMac to my network printer.
iMac G3 10.4.11 osx slot loaded, airport wireless. Officejet all in one 6310 usb to pc running Vista. I have tried all the usual SAMBA and LPD methods listed going for generic printer, but get error 256 using printer utility, and NT_status_no_memory when using samba with all the settings, when trying LPD the printer service just stops.
I use LPD://user:password@workgroup/server/sharename and same for smb. I have set up a seperate account for the mac on the vista pc with password and started lpd service I've also edited the registry for lmcompatibility, printer sharing is enabled and both machines have the same workgroup name (WORKGROUP).

I moved up to the HP P1006 since my 1020 was not compatible with 10.6. It has been working great until a hotel sent me a receipt in pdf format. I open the file try to print from the pdf and from the mac, both ways and I get this:

I've got external spam filter, and I've turned off junk filtering in apple mail.
But every so often, Mail categorizes messages as junk. It might be new since 10.9.4.

I already have the drivers downloaded from HP and the printer connected via USB cable.
My family owns 2 MacBooks plus XP desk top and Vista laptop. Wireless setup is provided with an older linksys a/b/g router and Comcast Cable Modem. The 2 MacBooks have frequent problems printing to the Brother 5250 DN printer, with connect fails. I have to reset the IP addresss frequently to get the printers to work with the wireless side of the network. The Windows OS PC's don't experience this problem. I am at a loss as to why the Macs have this IP problems.

The server "192.168.1.66" may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again. The only button option is "OK." The error pops up repeatedly. The external drive does not appear in my list of shared servers. Since this IP address is no longer valid and never will be again, how can I make this error go away?

View 8 Replies View RelatedA friend of mine somehow ruined his iMac's operating system (tiger) and tried to fresh format his hardrive. He told me that every time he would attempt to install, it would say "install failed" and he would have to restart. I couldn't imagine what he was doing wrong, so I attempted to install tiger on his iMac. OSX failed to install with "erase and install" so I ran disk utility and attempted repair with "failure to unmount".
I also tried erase via disk utility using various formating (journaled etc.). How would I be able to install tiger without error? I am not exactly sure why the installer fails, I am assuming it is something on the hard drive that is preventing install. I don't think it's the disk because the installation disk check proceeded and gave no errors.

I purchased a 32gb usb flash drive from ebay. I transferred some music on there, it crashed half way through transferring.
When I restarted and plugged it in, it didn't appear on the desktop. I went into Disk Utility and tried to erase it, I get the following error:

So I then tried the following in Terminal:
diskutil eraseDisk HFS+ newdisk disk2
But got the following message:
Partitioning encountered error Input/output error (5) on disk disk2 NO NAME
I had 2 partitons and i wanted to install XP using boot camp, of course i have to make my hard disk 1 partition, so i deleted the second partition and resized my 1st partition, when i try to resize 1st partition i get this error: filesystem verify and repair failed

(The burn failed because of a medium write error.)". Why is this happening? Is it the superdrive or the DVD-Rs? My computer is the Macbook pro with 2.4GHz intel core 2 duo cpu and with 2GB of 676MHz DDR2 SDRAM. The DVD-Rs i'm trying to use are Sony branded.
