MacBook Pro :: Launching MS Office For 2011: "Font Is Not Installed" Errors?

May 14, 2012

Message Microsoft (MSOffice).app wants to use the font "xxx". This font is not installed. Allow Microsoft(whatever).app to use this font? show in finder, don't allow, allow. happens with all Office apps, runs through entire font library. about 3 months ago this started - not sure what I did to kick it off, but now whenever I try to use a Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 app it runs through the series of fonts and asks me to do something. I can go through one at a time and select 'don't ask me again' and 'allow' or 'don't allow' but I'd rather figure out (and solve) the problem.

IMac :: Installed Open Office - Start Screen Icons Stacked

I got the Agua version and I'm on the newest version of Snow Leopard. I would post a screen shot if I knew how to. But when I open OpenOffice in Applications you get the start screen where you usually get to choose between the different programs. First of all on the text "Welcome to openoffice", the bottom half of "Welcome to" is missing. And then all the icons below are kind of stacked onto each other so you can only access some of them and its impossible to see what the icons does, cause the text for them also run into each other.

Outlook only says that it has encountered an unknown problem and is shutting down.I talked with Microsoft support but they don´t support their trial versions only premium. That I think is funny because if the trial version is not working how can you trust them that the premium version is working.

OS X :: Files And Settings On Mac Just Disappeared

Jul 23, 2009

I am currently using the Mac OS X 10.4.11. I've been using the computer without any problems for the past 2-3 years. Just yesterday, when I turned my computer on, many of my files which were once on my desktop has disappeared. The odd thing is, when I look at the amount of HD space available, the correct amount of space is still available. If I use the finder, I am unable to find any of the files which have 'disappeared'. All my bookmarks have also disappeared. In addition, I had previously set specific preferences for my trackpad (for example, i could use two fingers to double click) but those preferences seemed to have been reverted back to the original settings and I had to manually change the settings myself. Is there anyway I can recover the files which had disappeared? I also checked to make sure that I wasn't logged in as another user.

OS X :: All Files In Documents Folder Disappeared?

Nov 5, 2010

I'm not tech savy at all, so I need any advice people might have about this. A couple of hours ago all the files in my Documents folder disappeared. The folder is there, but only two documents are in it (the two I was working on today).

I can't find any of my files by searching in the finder window. I have no idea where to start on this. I haven't backed up any of my files because clearly I was operating under the misconception that losing all of my documents all at once could never happen to me.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Files Disappeared In A Particular Folder

Mar 2, 2012

I was trying to share this folder, which resides in my secondary hdd. Since i find it too **** hard to share some folders with a windows pc, i guess i messed up some stuff somehow. I tried creating user names, changing share settings but NOTHING worked! The share window is just ridiculous! But anyway That's not my main problem now.Every single file that in that folder i tried to share is gone now. The subfolders are there, but the files are gone. And not deleted; gone. Because i can see and open them with the Pathfinder application. Also can see them under bootcamped Windows. And yes, hidden files are shown at the moment.

OS X V10.5 Leopard :: Files Disappeared While Copying?

Jul 6, 2012

I copied 219 files (JPEG photo files) to a flash drive from my hard disk.Only 135 of them copied and the rest of them disappeared - completely.  No trace. They are just gone. They do not show in any searches. I ran the MacKeeper File recovery program and they do not show up there either. It seems impossible that they could just disappear while being copied but that is what has happened.
