This is the worst piece of software I have ever used. Before I even use it.
It does not accept the product key provided in the box (ordered from amazon). I have tried virtually every possible misprint/mispelling of the product key... but the product key seems to be easy enough to read to me...
Microsoft's site has no support number listed. Microsoft assigns you installation a unique number, then does not accept it for help on the support site.
Office 2011, you are a steaming pile of crap, and it will be a cold day in hell before I buy another Microsoft product.
i m not sure if it has something to do with office 2011. coz i did not change any system configurations, only installed office for mac today.
airport also seems broken. can not sharing my internet for iphone.
internet sharing is on, firewall is off. iphone can connect to the wireless, but wont DHCP the right ip address. before it was something like 10.0.0.x when its working. now the ip adress i got on the iphone its 169.254.xxx.xxx
I just returned my macbook air to fabric settings and put all my valuable stuff on a usb stick, everything from the usb stick works but office 201 it says that there was a problem with my installation-program of office and that i need to install it again but i don't have any disk from word just the office folder in my application folder.

I had to replace a dead hard drive on my old 2007 iMac. Now I am unable to install Office 2011 on an iMac that had this version of office before the old HD died. I know there are restrictions on the number of installations. Must I purchase Office 2011 again or is there another legal option?

has anyone had an issue with office mac 2011 excel and osx lion? i make excel spreadsheets with pdf storyboards on them, and too often the excel file will not reopen. instead i get a corrupt file notice. i choose fix file and the file opens without the pdf files. sounds like a pdf/excel issue to me. it is maddening.

I've seen conflicting information about the new Office Mac release. Have Macros been restored to Excel? And if so, what language are they using? Has anyone tried them or tried to import Macros from Excel 4 or Excel 5 macro languages?

View 1 Replies View RelatedTwo strange issues that I can't fix on my new MB Air 13 with MS Office for MAC 2011 and Excel.
1) I can't get the Standard Toolbar to show up when I open a new worksheet. I go to view, toolbars and then see that the Standard Toolbar is checked, but it doesn't show up. The only way to get it to show up is to do a series of steps:
- uncheck Standard Toolbar menu and go back out;
- go back in and check the Standard Toolbar and back to the spreadsheet
- the Standard Toolbar still doesn't show up;
- so then I click on the Layout tab on the ribbon and then it shows up!
2) I can't see the bottom of the window/spreadsheet - which means I can't resize the window. To resolve this, I have to do these steps:
- open system preferences and change my MBA screen resolution from 1440 x 900 down to 1280 x 800
- then go back to the spreadsheet, and resize the window (make it smaller on the screen)
- go back and resize the window back to 1440 x 900
- and then close the system preferences at this point, the Excel spreadsheet window is smaller and I can see/use the bottom of the screen to resize, etc.
Can't figure out what setting I have wrong or why I can't get Excel for Mac 2011 to work correctly on the MB Air screen.
In prep for moving to the "Cloud", I downloaded Lion last night without the knowledge that my 2005 version of Office would no longer be supported. Silly me, now I need to either switch to IWORKS or something else, immediately, so I can get back to work. If I download IWORKS or LIBRE will I be able to open my OFFICE files that are already on my computer?

I forgot my administrator's password for my home computer. I purchased office 2008 for mac with a free upgrade to office 2011. I upgraded it to 2011 when it came out (late 2010/early 2011). I have since made a new password and forgotten what it is. The mac tells me to reinstall my microsoft office but when I do, with the office 2008 disc, it tells me I have MORE RECENT SOFTWARE and to use that. I did it on line and cannot find it again.

Message Microsoft (MSOffice).app wants to use the font "xxx". This font is not installed. Allow Microsoft(whatever).app to use this font? show in finder, don't allow, allow. happens with all Office apps, runs through entire font library. about 3 months ago this started - not sure what I did to kick it off, but now whenever I try to use a Microsoft Office for Mac 2011 app it runs through the series of fonts and asks me to do something. I can go through one at a time and select 'don't ask me again' and 'allow' or 'don't allow' but I'd rather figure out (and solve) the problem.

I'm trying to turn on the excel functionality where I can see shortcuts when I hover over a button e.g. the bold button i would expect to see something like this "bold cmd+B". I have tried searching communities but I could find the answer. I found the answer for windows but not for mac. Below you can see a screen print to illustrate the issue. Excel only shows "bold" when I hover over the bold button and not "bold cmd+b". Im using excel 2011.

I've recently bought an external hard drive that works on Thunderbolt 2 (LaCie d2 3TB). When I connect the new drive to my Macbook Pro through the thunderbolt port, the drive isn't recognized. However, the drive works fine through a USB connection. I thought that Thunderbolt and Thunderbolt 2 are compatible, however this doesn't seem to be the case. I am trying to install Microsoft's latest update for Office 11 and I can't close Microsoft database daemon or Sync-services app to install MS Office 2011 14.2.1 update. No idea how to close it. I read that in some cases an older version of Entourage caused some problems so I deleted Entourage - can't use it anyway - but that didn't work. I am haveing and issue conencting. The probelm is when an ethernet connection is working Wifi is not, when Wifi is working ethernet is not. The issue is the netowrk control panel says Im always connected through wifi and ethernet 100% of the time but Safari or Firefox will not load a web page. It is strange because in Terminal I can ping any website. I'v restarted the router, the computer, I have even reloaded the OSX Lion. I have al the most up to date definitions. From a little bit of reasearch I see this is a ongoing issue and it is very frustrating. It is not a netowrk issue all my other devices work perfect when connected to wifi. 3 windows machines ipad iphone etc. Is the network card bad on the late 2011 macbooks?
