I can't get the iMovie to import photos from iPhoto without crashing just a few minutes into loading. Anyone know what I should do besides restart my computer (that doesn't help the problem).

Certain photos in my iphoto library cannot load. When I attempt to enlarge, move or edit these photos a grey screen with a large "!" appears. What is wrong? Can I fix this and save the affected photos?

When I launch Imovie, it loads all 20 hours without asking then proceeds to quit unexpectedly if I try to do anything. Is there a way to prevent iphoto from loading all of them without deleting the videos from my iPhoto library? I have about a 30 minute video I would like to edit I'm frustrated.How about removing all those clips except the ones I care about? Can I do that? (after waiting 20-30 minutes for them to load)
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a late 2009 Mac Mini with 8GB of OCZ 1333 RAM and an Intel X25-M 160GB SSD. Running 10.6 fully updated and installed from scratch.I have been getting out of the blue crashes while the system is most of the times idle. Can it be the RAM? It's reported fine as 8GB 1333 DDR under the system info. The Intel SSD runs latest firmware.

I feel like i'm going mad! For some reason on some websites my browser will not load thumb ball or main pictures. The browser keeps doing it's loading thing, but nothing happens. I'm using a mac book on 10.5.8.

It will load a little blue question mark instead of the picture! I have three other apple computers and a netbook on wireless (not all at the same time, just to check internet speeds) and they all work perfectly so it isn't the router and it isn't 10.5.8 because I have not installed it!

I've tried to copy something from my NAS to the Mac and had to quit in the middle of the process.
Now, when the Finder connects to the NAS it crashes (icons disappear from the desktop, same do finder windows and bar). Tried Relaunch, nothing happens.
Tried Reboot, at first everything is ok, then (couple of minutes later) I get the message that the connection to the NAS was interrupted and then nothing works anymore.
System is updated, caches are cleared, all periodic scripts have been run...

I've been loading pics to Shutterfly for years with no problems. I have no idea what happened but I suspect it has something to do with my teenage children. Now when I go to load pictures I can't find them.
View 1 Replies View Relatedrunning OS X 10.5.8 on a MacBook Pro. Lately my mac has been buggy, and I'm not sure why. When a decent amount of information is processed by any given application, it crashes. These crashes have included Mail, Safari, Photoshop, Foxfire, etc.. even the entire computer has shut down. Using the reset option does not help. I ran Repair Disk Permissions and it always fails. I get messages like "The Underlying Task Reported Failure on Exit". I wanted to try to run repair disk through the install disk but I cannot access it. I have Disk 1 in (Maybe I'm supposed to use 2?).
When booting I tried pressing 'C' and would eventually would get the "must restart" gray screen. I then tried pressing "Option" instead, selected the Disk drive, but the loading screen with the apple just kept going for about 20 minutes and I finally gave up and restarted. There were no longer any disk attempt whirring sounds.
I have a macbook pro running 10.4 on it, and ever since I've restarted my computer yesterday (it was starting to slow down a bit, but its better now), every time I try to load any kind of streaming video on any browser, it crashes. Not hang, but your average annoying run-of-the-mill "crash reporter" crash. I've cleaned up all my caches, private data, etc., same for the system, I've checked for viruses, I've reinstalled the browsers, and the flash player and a few other things I can't remember right now. One thing that has occurred to me is that this has occurred no matter what browser or company that created the browser software (like mozilla). Could there be a plugin thats interfering with the software?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have had my Mac Book Pro in and out of the apple store about 5 times now. iMovie will crash CONSTANTLY!!! They replaced the RAM and Logicboard which fixed the problem for about a week. I cannot seem to figure out how to delete the iMovie preferences. Cant fint the com.apple.iMovieApp.plist file anywhere trust me, its not on my computer. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled iMovie. The scrubbing in the editing will stop working and the video will freeze and it crashes 100% of the time when previewing the project in fullscreen. I have sent literally 1000 crash reports to apple which I find useless because nobody has any record of them, not the Apple store, not Apple support, not Steve Jobs.

I recently installed Lion from a download. I was able to open iMovie three times to realize none of my previous movies showed up. Now, a week later, iMove crashes upon starting it. I do not have a disk to reload from, and the update manager tells me I am up to date on all my software.

On my Macbook pro, it starts up, "optimizes movies" and then 5 seconds later crashes. It has never done this before which is why it must have something to do with the recent update (installed in the last week)

I can't launch iMovie '08. When I try to run the app, the icon appears on the dock, but no screen or message error is shown. It just hangs, and I must do "force quit". This only happens with my user, as I've tested with other users on the same machine and iMovie seems to be running OK. I've cleaned my user cache in order to solve any problem with that, but it didn't work at all. I have installed the last actualization (iMovie 7.1.4). I doesn't seem to be an interference with iPhoto, as other users have experienced, since I've deleted com.apple.iPhoto.plist and the problem still persists.

I know that every picture I import in to iPhoto makes a copy for iPhoto, so...is there an easy way to delete photos I don't need anymore from iPhoto and from my hard drive in order to clear up space? So, my question is, where did those pictures go? I'm hoping that they are stored in some folder somewhere (which I have been unable to find) and that they are NOT just part of the monstrous "iPhoto Library" file in the Photos folder where I can't actually get at them.

If I can't download pictures from my iPhone then Apple just killed part of the reason I have an iPhone in the first place. Fix it. I want my pictures back. I get no message saying it can't open it will eventually just stop acting like it's going to load. Now the main photo icon for iphoto has eve changed it looks like a blank piece of paper with a pencil and pen at the bottom of it, and it used to be that signature iphoto sunset.
