my imac running 10.5.8 will not print some pdf documents properly. In particular sheet music will only print as horizontal and vertical lines - the symbols and notes do not print. The 'print preview' shows all the symbols and notation correctly.Â
This occurs in both Adobe Acrobat (v10.1.3) and Preview (v 4.2 - 469.5).Â
Printer in use is a HP 2600n connected via USB cable.

I have an iMac running Mac OS 10, version 10.5.6 It is about 3 months old. I have it hard wired to an ADSL Router and my HP 2510 All-in-One Printer is hard wired into the same Router. My Mac lists this printer in "Applications: HP all-in-one chooser." As soon as I click on my printer a window comes up that says "the HP all-in-one chooser quit unexpectedly." I have tried reinstalling the driver software from my disk and from the HP site. When I try to print anything, it will go to the printer queue and sit on the list there but it will not print it. Any guesses as to what I am doing wrong? Beside each document listed in the que it says "stopped", when I try to reprint a document it will open a new window that says "Operation could not be completed, client error not possible." What the hell does that mean? Oh yes, When I open my "Printers" folder I have this printer listed three times, could this be the conflict? How do I get rid of 'em?

I have a Macbook pro at work running snow leopard. We have a shared printer Cannon IR 5045. For the past few motnhs it was working fine. This week all of the documents i try to print i put on hold. Restarting doesnt work. deleting and reinstalling printer doesnt work. It is connected by IP and the mac is on the network. Other people can print fine.

I have recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and am now having problem with my hp 4500 office jet printer. The print icon tends to stay on the dock after the print job is done and then mess up the print queue. Even worse if I forget to cancel it manually then when I put the computer on 'sleep' the printer starts up again and the whole job is rerun unless I get to cancel it quickly on the printer! Â
It does not always do this (the print icon disappearing as it should do), but for 90% of the time it does.Â
I have an i mac (quad core) running on Mac os x 10.7.3. I am finding increasingly that despite me closing all programmes properly the mac doesnt shut down. I find it goes to the grey screen and the mac spiral appears, I have to push the power button to shut the machine down.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently received an Intel SSD 80GB 2.5" for my MacBook (Alu MacBook 13"; the MacBook specific area is pretty dry as far as SSDs go). While it is quite fast and I am content with the speed, one anomaly has arisen. I was walking upstairs with my MacBook closed in hand and embraced to my chest when I heard a rattling noise coming from the sleeping machine. I opened it up to see that the SSD has about 1/2 to 1 inch of movement horizontally and about 1/2 inch vertically. When I put in the new drive I made sure to screw in the bracket nearest to the logicboard (but I later realized that the SSD does not have the nubs the old HDD did and therefore it does little in the way of securing the SSD). I looked at this video on information about how to install the SSD, but as far as I know, I have done everything that he has.
Am I correct in assuming that this is normal? This is my first installation of a new hard drive of any means into a laptop.
My iMac 27inch, Mid 2010 2.93 ghz i7 running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3, doesn't shut down or restart properly. Once I choose the option in apple menu it goes into white screen with a wheel spinning, it freezes there. The only to proceed is by manually holding the power button. Checked and repaired all disk permissions in standard and recovery mode, reset PRAM and SMC, did couple of cleaning procedures of cache and relative, did a whole virus running procedure. Cant figure out what has happened. It happens after I operate computer after turning it on, but it does shutdown and restart if its done straight away after turning it on without opening anything. I tried to monitor maybe it some software that makes act like that, but didn't find a link.

I just got a new Intel Core i7 Mac and installed MPlayer OSX Extended (Rev 13) on my computer. After installing it, it needed to "update it's font cache" and after doing this, it asked "whether or not to check for updates automatically". However, after I made my choice, the application unexpectedly quit. I tried doing this again several time to no avail. After resetting my computer again multiple times, and reinstalling the application, I finally got the MPlayer Rev 13 to open and play videos. Normally, when I open an application on the dock, the icon "jumps" and then the application opens. However, whenever I open the MPlayer app, it "jumps" and pauses and finishes the jump. Furthermore, whenever I try to go fullscreen (by clicking the screen twice), nothing happens. I have read online that there have been some cases where the borders blacken, but the video stays the same size, but in my case, nothing happens at all.

I own both an iMac and a MacBook.Lately I've been trying to use [URL] and while the website does work, it displays totally wrong on my iMac ?I looked at all I could think of (not a newbie, but not savvy enough to go look in the coding to look for errors there).The one section from the site which displays correctly is one without a menu on both right and left. It's a blog. Here's a clue, I guess. I tried with both Safari 5.1.6 and Firefox 13.0, with the exact same result. But on my Macbook it displays perfect! I am using Firefox 12.0 on it. So I downgraded to Firefox 12.0 on the iMac... no success.Of course I also cleared the cache, closed the browser, and the computer... no luck.I then removed all plugins, since it was the only remaining difference...I thought it could be a difference in display... altough I couldn't see how... I changed it from 1920x1080 to the ones similar to my Macbook's (1280x1024 and 1280x720)... Of course it was the same, just more blurry. It doesn't make sense and I hate it when it doesn't make sense!Of course I hate it even more that I can't use that website on my iMac!!! mouse cursor not working properly, when i go to my hidden dock it will not appear unless i left click, and when i try and drag and drop whatever i pick up gets stuck to cursor and i have to power down, and when i go to the tool bar at top, and highlight a particular section the highlight does not follow my cursor nor will it change from file to edit to view etc. without me actually clicking each individual section, i have done 3 fresh installs, and run the boot cd live and still have the same problem running to boot cd live.
I have no idea what is causing this problem, i have run hardware test, both using memtest for mac and macs own internal test holding the D key down on boot, memtest ran with not errors, but the mac test came up with two seperate issues the first was using the quick test the second was using the extended test: 4MOT/1/ 40000003: HDD-1363 and the second was 4MOT/1/40000003: HDD-1429,Oh the machine is a intel based 20" imac, with the core 2 duo 2ghz processor, 2006 i believe and its running osx 10.5.

I run Logic Pro 9 and have around 200GB of additional sample plugins (VSL Solo Strings, Ivory Grand Pianos, Superior Drummer, etc..) and
I want to know how I can successfully transfer the Apps (Logic, Sibelius, Pages, iTunes, etc...) onto my new SSD while keeping the plugins on my HDD and using them simultaneously. Â
p.s. since some of the apps require registration, I cannot simply drag them to my SSD from the HDD and expect them to work. I get an error.

they are all having problems one of the aol wont update all my new mail and is like 5 days behind. it used to but doesnt now. Â

Whenever i click on an email on the web (like Craigslist), instead of opening mail (yes its running) it opens a new tab in chrome (i haven't messed w/ the chrome settings) and brings me to my email sign in. I have tried quitting and also restarting my computer.
