I just upgraded my laptop to Lion. Now I can't access any of my Word Documents. I 'got' around that by opening them up in 'pages'. HOWEVER, I can't access my emergency records organizer (where I keep all my bank account info, IDs and passwords, etc.) Is there a new application in Lion that allows me to to store this data? I'm not real happy with Lion right now, because half of my life/documennts were Word documents that can no longer be opened-unless I want to open EVERY last one of no fewer than 1,000 Word docs in 'pages.' Not only did I pay to upgrade to Lion, but I'll have to pay for another version of Word. Macintosh is on my___list right now.

My Mac is not seeing my wireless HP printer when trying to print a Word document. I can print from other Microsoft apps (excel). This only started happening yesterday afternoon.

I have a Macbook air and my printer is a canon 6150.
When I go to print it doesn't always print out properly when I am using word and adobe pdf files. It seems to print ok when I open documents in preview.
I have been on the phone to canon and reinstalled the printer drivers and tested the printer by doing a colour copy and printing on my phone. Both of these work. As these work the cannon dude says its something to do with the setting in my computer rather than an issue with the printer.
I have an iMac running Mac OS 10, version 10.5.6 It is about 3 months old. I have it hard wired to an ADSL Router and my HP 2510 All-in-One Printer is hard wired into the same Router. My Mac lists this printer in "Applications: HP all-in-one chooser." As soon as I click on my printer a window comes up that says "the HP all-in-one chooser quit unexpectedly." I have tried reinstalling the driver software from my disk and from the HP site. When I try to print anything, it will go to the printer queue and sit on the list there but it will not print it. Any guesses as to what I am doing wrong? Beside each document listed in the que it says "stopped", when I try to reprint a document it will open a new window that says "Operation could not be completed, client error not possible." What the hell does that mean? Oh yes, When I open my "Printers" folder I have this printer listed three times, could this be the conflict? How do I get rid of 'em?
View 3 Replies View RelatedIm going to be purchasing a 13" Macbook Pro but coming from using a PC my whole life I have a few questions:
Firstly would you recommend iWork or Office? And can iWork read and edit work documents?
Secondly, If I am creating a Word document on my Mac and then send it to someone that is using Office on a PC will the formatting etc be the same? Im thinking of the scenario if I am filling out a job application form and then send it to the employer I don't want the formatting to be messed up since that would preclude me from getting an interview most likely. Also, are there any other compatibility issues I should be aware of with sending things between Mac and PC? I know if these will be problematic I can always install Windows 7 via Bootcamp, but id rather they were do-able on OSX.
my imac running 10.5.8 will not print some pdf documents properly. In particular sheet music will only print as horizontal and vertical lines - the symbols and notes do not print. The 'print preview' shows all the symbols and notation correctly.
This occurs in both Adobe Acrobat (v10.1.3) and Preview (v 4.2 - 469.5).
Printer in use is a HP 2600n connected via USB cable.
