Jun 23, 2012Whenever I start up my Computer, many applications load up also, especially Microsoft programs and I have to close them or it makes the desktop a mess.
Has anyone out there experienced this problem and/or have a fix for this?

Jun 13, 2010Something is wrong with my HDD.
I don't think it's dead but something to do with the indexing of the HDD.
I can go into target firewire mode and i am backing up my data as we speak. However I do not have a big external HDD that i can back up everything so I have to pick and choose.
I have diskwarrior but it does not boot up. It says cannot find boot hdd or something and shows a No entry sign on the grey loading screen with the spinning gear.
I tried disk utility to repair the HDD but it says it tries three times and fails. Cannot locate the index file. I think this is my main problem here.
If i try and boot in verbose mode it shows this [URL] something message and repeats that it cannot locate the file. I dont even know what this is as i've never been to this website.
Anyway I can repair the index file and see if mac os x will boot up? Or you recommend a fresh install?
I just want to boot the mac once so i can look for some files because spotlight wont work since it says its trying to index the macintosh HD from firewire.
OS X V10.7 Lion :: When I Start Safari It Won't Load Screen
May 23, 2012When I go to start safari it won't load. The address bar lights up about a 13rd of the way and then just sits there.If I restart my computer it will work for a time but eventually refers back to the same behavior.I have tried reseting safari, I have tried to empty cache without success.

MacBook Pro :: Continuous Rotating Circle - Start Up Load Bar Disappeared
Mar 4, 2012I left my mac turned off for roughly a month. When I turned the computer on, the gray apple screen and the load bar appeared to start up the computer. Shortly into the loading process, the loading circle appeared (rotating circle seen to indicate loading in programs such as iMovie and Safari etc). The start up load bar disappeared and the load circle has now been rotating infinitely. I have tried pressing command+r and turning off the mac and turning it back on. I have plugged it into a power source. It won't let me past this gray screen. How do I get into my mac?

Jun 3, 2014My Late '11 15inch Macbook Pro went bonanas today. When it starts up there all these black horizontal lines running across the screen jiggering jabbering everywhere and I see three apple logos (due to GPU glitch I am guessing) after loading everything goes white and my laptop heats up and battery dies within like half an hour. I was bummed but then like after restarting a bunch of times and recharging my laptop it starting up normal again! I was super happy, but then it experienced the same crash next time the battery died. So, this has been going on and off;

Jun 10, 2012I am trying to change my DNS on the DNS tab of the going through System Preference/Network/Advanced/DNS tab. However, the current DNS are greyed out and I can not overwrite them. After watching a host of videos and going to the local Apple store, I see that I am the only one that has this problem. It is as if the IP address assigns the DNS and locks it. Is this correct?

Sep 19, 2010I have the app called "SimpleTask" set to start-up when i turn my Mac on. The icon is just in the top taskbar. The problem is that when i turn my Mac on the window of the app comes up on my desktop and then i have to manually minimize it every time. Is there a way to have it start-up minimized in the taskbar from the start so i dont have to do it manually? There is no option for this in the preferences. There has to be a way to do it thou.

Apr 12, 2012I was watching a video on Hulu, and suddently I got a error that the website could not load. Since then, I can't load most pages (yet oddly I have found one page that still works.) Network diagnostics says that everything is working fine... and I can still connect to everything just fine with with my MacBook and iPhone on the same network. I have the same problem whether I am trying to use Safari or Google Chrome..

Jun 19, 2012I can't load a CD/DVD into my drive as it appears blocked? I can confirm 100% there is not a disk in the drive. Interestingly I updated my software and the drive worked again (once) allowing me to enter a drive then ejetc it soon after? when i tried to reinsert it again blocked it!? FYi I've tried leaning my IMac on angles etc still to no avail.

Jun 28, 2014After connecting the imac to a new router the system hung completely up. After each input, e.g. opening preview or a browser, the coloured turning disc appeared and nothing happened anymore. Several restarts, also in safe mode, were unsuccessful. I could not switch to another user. Restart is only possible at all from installation disc but thereafter problem remains the same.
