I am a new MAC owner and looking for ways to stream pictures, music from my IMAC to my Sony Internet TV. The Internet TV is wired to the home network by way of ethernet. However----when I go to photos or music on the internet TV it doesn't seem to be able to find the IMAC---just my router. Can this be done without an Apple TV?Â

Hows does OSX Recover Adobe Creative Suite documents after a system crash and reboot?
My second question is why can't Windows do this?
I have no intentions of starting a flame war, I am just really curious how OSX manages to do this when windows doesn't seem to have a chance in hell with this type of recovery.
I have recently updated to Lion and am now unable to access any of my microsoft word documents.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFirst off let me confess I am pretty useless with this stuff compared to the people here. I have searched the forums and while there seem to be a lot of people with similar problems, I haven't really seen a solution that I fully understand or that would help me with my specific problem.
The Problem:
I'm using a 3 month old 13.3" Macbook with bootcamp installed. Recently I turned it on and OSX wouldn't load. I had not changed anything on the laptop at all. When it tried to load just got the grey/ blue screen and spinning gear thing. I turned it off and booted into windows no problem. Later I did it again but left it running and eventually OSX did load but the problem recurred when I shut down and now the OSX partition doesn't even show up when I start the computer. Nothing happens for a while and then windows starts. No OSX.
What I've tried:
After looking through the forums here I have tried booting into safe mode and single userness, whatever that is, and it's the same- nothing happens and then windows starts.
I've tried booting from the install disk and running disk utility on the mac partition (it shows up in disk utility) but I get the "invalid node structure" error and it says the disk can't be repaired. When I try to verify I get an error saying the disk "could not be unmounted" (I assume that is a euphemism).
Windows works just fine.
What I really want to know is whether I need to reinstall OSX and, if so, whether I can recover some data first. I just got back from a family wedding and have a number of photos that I hadn't backed up (duh) and I really want to try and get them off the disk.
I understand Diskwarrior might work, but I don't mind reinstalling OSX as long as I can back up the drive first. I have an external USB drive, but absolutely no idea what I would have to do to use it as a backup, or how to recover the photos from it if I do. There is mention on these forums of an "archive/install" option which sounds promising...
Sorry for the long post, just wanted to be specific.
How can i recover my photos? I brought my macbook air to the apple store to have my sound hardware fixed. When i got it back all my files were missing.

Last night I was in the process of backing up my files because my Mac has so much on it, I was transferring older stuff to my external hard drive to open up some space. In the process my computer started acting slow. So I thought I deleted the photos I had already transferred over, instead I deleted all Of my photos from 08-09. They aren't in the the trash can because I emptied it right there...trying to get more space.
Please, is there any way I can recover those files?
I downloaded a program last night, and thought it was free, but once it was done finding all my pictures, it asked for a registration code in order to actually save the photos. I don't have the money to spend a hundred dollars on a program.
I tried rebuilding my Iphoto library to recover 90GB of pics and they are still not there.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to download my mini-discs to my MacBookPro.
I have had little success with Garage Band as I cannot really get the hang of such a complex program.
I have had some success using "Audacity". I do manage to get the minidiscs onto the computer. But that is where the problems start.
I obviously want the music in iTunes, but cannot manage to do this. I can get the downloads into any progam except iTunes which just refuses to accept them. I can store them in Music but this is not very satisfactory as it is longwinded to retrieve them and they cannot be downloaded to CDs. The files are in aiff format Which takes up over a gigabyte of space for a 1 hour minidisc. These can be converted to mpeg in iTunes but not in any other program.
I have previously been able to download aiff format music but now find I cannot get them into iTunes.
I can't see my photos from the memory card kingston 16gb class 10, how can recover the pictures?, anyone knows a good free online software?

Recently, my Mac starts playing this same song everytime a download from firefox finishes. Sometimes when I download 2 pictures, one after the other, the same song starts playing twice, overlapping by just a few seconds. I found out it's a song in my computer and has removed it but it still happens. I have reinstalled firefox but the this is still going on.

When I try to read the text files (.doc, .rtf, etc.) I get an "access denied" msg.My Mac is Tiger 10.4.11, WORD is 2004, both fully up to date; everything pretty vanilla. I have a 27" imac and mostly use it for music. I got on today to put some music on my iphone 4 and to my surprise I have like 12 songs in my itunes library. These songs are a free sampler cd download which I downloaded the other day from Austin City Limits Music Festival. Where did all my music go? Please tell me I haven't lost 35 gigs of music!! I do have an external hard drive that is supposedly used for backing up. Is it possible the music is on there, if so how do I go about getting back into my itunes?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI wonder how I can recover the music and Apps that I already bought from iTunes store. I lost my iPod and I want to check for the music and the Apps I bought since I am thinking in buying a new iPod, but there are not in my iTunes. I tried all I could try to get them back but nothing. I check the list of the thing I bought from Apple Store through iTunes and some of the music and Apps are in the list, couldn't find how to downloads again, but not all the music or Apps were there.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI want to move my pictures, movies, music and documents folders to another internal drive. I read in this post that it should be a simple manoeuvre to move the pictures folder to another location and replace the pictures folder in the old home folder with an alias pointing to the pictures folder in the new location. I thought perhaps I can follow that procedure also for the other folders.

I always use iPhoto to upload my pictures from my devices, Ive noticed that all the photos are stored under a single fumnail in photos.
If I wanted to transfer these photos to windows how would I separate all the pictures into the format windows views them in, so individual files. Also if i wanted to transfer to another mac do I just move the fumnail?
Also how do I go about transferring music?
I just started a new account for my wife on our iMac. Before that all our music, photos, contacts, etc were on my account. My question is, how can I transfer the music over to her account and also how can I get her contacts on her phone over to itunes?
