I want to move my pictures, movies, music and documents folders to another internal drive. I read in this post that it should be a simple manoeuvre to move the pictures folder to another location and replace the pictures folder in the old home folder with an alias pointing to the pictures folder in the new location. I thought perhaps I can follow that procedure also for the other folders.

When I look at the thumbnails in finder, I press enter to look at the picture. And I scroll down to look at the other pictures. I want to move or delete the images when I look at them this way.

Even on my MBP when listening to music from iTunes. But Movies in iTunes don't work. The AirPlay icon in a movie playing in iTunes only shows "computer" and doesn't show any other options.

Well, I use Spotlight religiously on a daily, hourly, maybe minute basis. I have a ton of organized folders under my Documents and when I search for any of those folders in spotlight no results are yielded. Not even if the whole folder is typed out, or even just partial. I tried typing in many different folder names I have but nothing.
Then I tried typing in spotlight the names of Pages files, Excel Files, Word, etc...you name it. But nothing.
In Old Leopard, when I opened the Applications folder from the dock, my app icons were small enough that all of them were displayed at once. In Snow Leopard, the icons are much larger, and there's a scroll bar at the side. I liked the old way better. Any way to get it back, other than going back to 10.5?

I used MobileMe but am being forced to iCloud. I used MobileMe to store documents but in iCloud it doesn't seem that one can create folders in which to put documents; I can only upload documents to "Pages" tab and sort them by name. Also, the support seems to indicate I should be able to upload PDF but when I try it says that PDF is not supported.

I have recently bought a new laptop to use whilst travelling. I have downloaded iTunes to it and bought some new bits. But I have a lot of films on my iMac and would like to copy or move those over to my laptop, but I'm not sure how to do it. My computer has decided all of a sudden to stop letting me drag and drop files and folders. I have attached several mouses and tried the track pad and even tried to fix it with system prefrences but found nothing is working. I have a problem with organizing my movies. At present a series of iTunes moves over the years has left me with a whole mess of duplicate and triplicate movies that are difficult to reference. So I popped the hood on iTunes and got to work.Â
So far I have:
*Renamed the movies to relavent titles.
*Sorted them all into folders and organised the folder structure the way music is stored.
*Deleted duplicates and triplicates (and even more copies in some cases).
*I did this first in an old back up.
*Then in live iTunes
*Found multiple folders with the movies.
*One located Music>iTunes>Media>Movies
*The other located Music>iTunes>Movies (found lower down in the file structure)Â
Doing this made no difference to the way the movies were being displayed in iTunes. This means iTunes is getting the info on what to show on the screen from something or somewhere else?Â
How can I get iTunes to show the movies on screen as they are arranged in the folders or as iTunes organises the music?
Is it something to with the "iTunes Music Library.xml" or "iTunes Library.itl" file?Â

I have a new imac with an SD slot on the side. When I plug the SD card into the side it imports to iphoto automatically but I am having trouble reversing the process. I have opened iphoto and the SD card in finder, drug the pics from iphoto to the card, they show up in finder as jpegs but when I unmount the card and then plug it back in iphoto says that there are no valid files on the card. The pics are there in finder but cant be opened by iphoto. My camera (Canon Rebel T2i) also does not recognize that there are any pics on the card. I need to be able to send pics back to my spare SD card for printing purposes.

However, before we did that we wanted to make sure all her documents/settings were on the MacBook Pro. So I went ahead and wiped the old MacBook Pro clean and then used Migration assistant from the MacBook to move all of her documents and settings. Needless to say this was the easiest migration I have ever done to a new system. And I am extremely happy that I work in an environment is mostly made up of Macintosh computers. So while all of you here know that Migration Assistant is the best, I am mostly writing this thread for those who do not yet own Macintosh computers
