Is it at all possible to zoom within the application's window only?
Sometimes I feel like focusing a section of a Safari window (eyesight matter, for example) and I don't want to lose vision of other things going on, say, msn, skype, or even a movie I'm watching.
I like OS X Lion. It's the fastest system upgrade I've ever seen on a Mac. With that said, I have this problem. I'm using a Magic Mouse. Just since my Lion upgrade, while I'm in Safari, browsing, every so often it just zooms in close on the page. Doesn't matter the site. It does it on a google search or a Mac discussions page. Something I am inadvertently doing or some glitch with the system (with mouse?).
I say mouse because it usually happens as I move the mouse over to click on something on the page. I thought it might be a combination of twitching fingers on mouse top, and maybe the movement of mouse together. I don't know, but when it happens I can't undo it. So I have to get out of the page. If I just try to reload page, or put the same thing in the search engine again, it doesn't matter, it still is zoomed. It's ridiculous. How I can either stop it or zoom back?

I struggling to find the best way to zoom Safari webpages automatically. I have used an extension called AllPagesZoom but when used on Youtube pages.I'm unable to drag player scrolls properly and some radio button problems too. I have seen a solution using CSS Style Sheet to zoom but it didn't work for me. I'm wondering if there may be a solution where auto zoom is as simple as in Chrome browsers.

The zooming function on the trackpad stopped working on my Mac Air OSX 10.9.3. I've already checked the trackpad preferences to make sure I didn't inadvertently alter something. It worked fine in the morning then when I woke my computer in the afternoon the zoom no longer worked. I use this function constantly so I hope something is not broken.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIm doing a photo slideshow with some video sliced in. It should all have clean transitions that include slight zooming, scaling, panning. Each transition needs to be customized for each shot so the zooming doesn't randomly zoom into an arm or a forehead or something rediculous as of now I presume adobe premiere is what I will be using as it can do all that. I was just curious if ilife09 does it or something else so that I can get it done fast and as streamlined as possible.
the presentation then has to be burned to a DVD.
I want to buy the 27" iMac - but only if I can use it as external monitor for my Lenovo laptop when working from home. A the Apple store in London they said that this is possible with a Belkin converter from hdmi to mini display port (with a USB power caple to turn it into an active signal). The laptop also has a displayport.

Anything new on getting my current model iMac to act as an external monitor for an older mbp with mini-display port? I mean screen sharing does work, but it would be nice to do it the right way if possible.

I am looking around for a reasonably priced PC monitor to use as an extended desktop/palette monitor for my iMac 27".I have a range of video adaptors so should be able to connect to most cables but it seems that PC monitors these days come with VGA/HDMI connectors and I am not finding many with DVI which would be my preference. I understand HDMI is basically for TV/Video connections, how good is it for a computer display?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3), The closest you'll ever get to there, is here.
use the newest model iMac 27inch as a display for the newest model Mac Pro (desktop tower). The latest Mac Pro has DVI and DisplayPort out and the iMac obviously has thunderbolt, usb, and firewire. I've discovered that there isn't really a way to get thunderbolt on the Mac Pro unless someone knows something I don't. If it's the case that thunderbolt can't be added to the current Mac Pro (be it by a new video card, or otherwise), I'm wondering if I could use a DVI to USB adapter to display it on the iMac. Â
I guess the takeaway here is that I don't need a virtual solution. Primarily, I use screen sharing via gigabit ethernet to access it. However, when you need a physical hardware monitor (let's say when you restart your machine or need to boot outside of OS X), you can't use the virtual options. I need to be able to use it independently, like a traditional monitor setup.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI started noticing what I describe as ant-lines running vertically across my late 2009 27" iMac. I am fairly certain that they were not there before but I can't really remember. I did a search and found some discussions regrading video issues and vertical line anomalies but none like what I am seeing. url...It's noticable from a distance of about 2 feet and closer. It's not visible on white or black but midtones is where I see it. It gets really distracting at about 20" and closer, especially in iPhoto when scrolling through photos.Has anyone else seen anything like this and do you guys think I will have any luck getting something like this fixed with a Genius appointment? I do still have AppleCare.

I have up dated all software to current levels, the display jumping still persists. it happens when the mouse pointer is dragged across the dock or installing something from a disk or downloading from the internet. What could be the possible cause?

iMac has no video but is operating as normal otherwise. I have attached a second monitor via the mini-display port but the 2nd monitor has a galaxy screen saver that is replaced by a second screen having two small areas at the top labelled Dashboard and Desktop which is the galaxy screen saver when I press the F3 key. How do I get the iMac's desktop on the 2nd screen if I can't see preferences on the iMac screen?
